  1. Makes a lot of sense. I realize that Go board is resistance based instead of temperature in Replay. Thank you for your insights.
  2. Thank you for the response. I will definitely try out your suggestions. Also just to confirm do you also see similar temperature readings for your mod in Escribe. Just wondering if mine is an isolated incident and maybe submit a ticket to Evolv.
  3. On my DNA Go, I haven't been having much luck liking the vape on either .5 or .25 pods. It just feels like they have a low ramp up and eventually burn out as I am forced to take longer pulls. Just checked in the Atomizer Analyzer and noticed that the Room Temperature is at 110F, which is completely way off (actual room temp is 70F). I am wondering if this is an issue and maybe causing poor performance. I tried to do hard reset, reboot and soft reboot, but nothing seems to make this temperature go down. Even in the Device monitor the Board temperature is constant around ~122F Anyone who can chime in and let me know what can I do about this.
  4. Just a quick clarification.. I am building a dual 18650 cell mod and with preliminary wiring done as stated in this discussion, in Escribe I get Cell 1 - 4.2v, Cell 2 - 4.2v and Cell 3 - 1.2v .. Does the third cell voltage have any significance and if so what is its range (or) its just a phantom voltage that is read and to be just ignored. Any inputs will be helpful..
  5. Thanks for sharing @lewisss .. makes a lot of sense now.. was testing DNA200 @ 40W power and same for preheat to simulate a Dicodes and it is a lot smoother compared to 100W preheat with 54w power settings.. I can now better understand how the SS profile can be better tamed with optimal (lower) power .. it doesn't hit the temperature or give warm/hot vape but definitely gives a smoother vape, so I keep these two in different profiles and use them as my mood dictates ... (smooth and silky) or (rowdy and warm) ..
  6. Must have ... please... Definitely would love to have this feature.. using a DNA200 simultaneously with Evic VT Mini and its such a pleasure to adjust temperature directly from up/down buttons in temp control mode. It makes the use of temperature control so much pleasurable. Also when I want to dial down/up on vapor/flavor, it is a quick few clicks rather than going to lock screen and some more.
  7. Interesting .. will definitely try this approach, on a low heat with a stirrer and a lot of patience can get some really good readings to satisfy my OCD ..
  8. Congratulations on winning the SBIR... guess you will be going back to getting busy based on how elaborate this can get going forward. Good thing they are expediting grant funding, wish you good luck. Them researchers need better devices that operate on a wider scale to do their testing so they can identify potentially hazardous regimes of usage
  9. Wish it was so easy.. but it doesn't seem so.. Check sweetspotvapors TCR calibration setup .. I guess for accuracy you need professional equipment. I have a temp probe multimeter and doing some experiments but it is slowwwww in updating and can't get accurate readings.. yet .. https://instagram.com/p/6tk4ERuFzM/ https://instagram.com/p/6uARg8uF5B/
  10. I haven't encountered any battery manufacturers giving the connectors in reverse... that being said its Vape Cige, who should have definitely corrected it, .. not Evolv I agree, but .. .. You and our peers understand the quality and standards of Evolv, its built upon many years of innovation and quality of products .. but the media doesn't care if they need to write a fear mongering tagline, especially for an USA company.. china meh, they probably don't even care.. I am looking at all the horror stories of 18650 hybrid mod misuse stories.. it just paints a bad image, and many complications..
  11. One major issue that others noted somewhere else.. at 9:20 in the video when the reviewer shows the Lipo connector, note that the male and female connectors are not installed properly.. Lipo has the exposed leads connector and even in the video there was a high likelihood it would do a dead short on the mod metal body when he was moving the cables around.. yikes.. @Evolv... I don't know what to say, but this kind of puts you also in bad situation, if any user were to get hurt with inferior mods that are built with no proper QC or vetting .. I am at loss for words here ..
  12. .. facepalm ... thanks for the clarification @turbocad6 and @Legros .. was thinking way too much, in a wrong direction..
  13. Quick question.. I have 3 different attys that I use with resistances 0.36 ohms, 0.22 ohms and another with 0.61 ohms. As I switch between these three it automatically switches to their respective resistances that I had used prior. I am just curious how many of these base resistances does the chip store in memory. If it had no memory it would be asking me when switching from 0.22 ohms to 0.61 ohms whether it is a new coil or not, but it doesn't and somehow magically switches to 0.61ohms correctly, like it has memory of that I used something similar to 0.61 prior to using 0.22 ohms. Also is there any way to clear up the previously stored resistances?
  14. I would also like to see this ... to explain a case scenario, lets say I am making a new build and have a resistance read of 0.284 ohms and use it, but after a few trials and maybe a slightly loose post screw, I tighten it and the new resistance is 0.295 ohms, it would keep going back to 0.284 ohms as the difference is still under 25% threshold of 0.071 ohms, but the vape will be uncomfortable. Now I got to wait for the mod to go into sleep mode to slowly correct the resistance with refinement, wish it could be done faster to just re-read the resistance. Now this has its own flaws, as users might incorrectly set resistance without letting the mod cool down appropriately. Also if we can use some key combination to set the resistance like one click power up and down, it would be great. Using the power button to get the resistance, invariably changes the resistance for me and a bit troublesome.. .. yes .. I am clumsy and asking for something that help the clumsy..Feel free to beat me down if I am not doing something correctly or understanding it correctly..
  15. I have been using my custom made DNA200 for nearly a week and have a few questions. Out of Space: Using the 8 profiles provided in EScribe, if I upload Custom Coil materials CSV for more than 2 profiles, and then click "Upload Settings to Device", Escribe gives an error message: "Failed to Upload Setttings: Out of Space". Is there some limitations on how many CSV files can be uploaded. I am using the TCR Curve data from Steam engine and after loading the CSV file, they show up in Escribe in the plot, but when uploading to device the error pops up.Temperature Coefficient: If instead of using CSV, I would like to use the TCR approximation values in Escribe, the allowed values are in the range of 0.002 to 0.010. From my understanding Ni200 is the closest to accurate coil that we can use which has a TCR of 0.006, and not sure if there are any coil material that has higher than 0.006. (For Ti it is 0.0035 and SS is 0.00094). I am not sure if the range of 0.006 to 0.010 is usable, on the other hand below 0.002 why does it still takes the TCR curve from Steam engine for SS316L and accepts it but wouldn't use the TCR coefficient value of 0.00094 as input. Just a bit confused?Temperature Accuracy: The main thing that is bugging me is that I have to use my mod at 520F/540F to get a decent vape. From my early days with DNA40, my standard approach is to build a new coil, check room temperature resistance and do a dry cotton wick burn at 430F/450F and make sure that it only slightly chars which indicates that I have a good temperature accuracy. However with my mod, cotton doesn't char until 540F, but the resistance matches with other mods and I don't see any issue why it is off by 100F or so. If somebody could give me pointers on how I can test or correct this, I would be very obliged.
  16. Hmm.. don't have an answer but curious, how long did both these tests take to run.
  17. Sad to say.. my GND pad is also lifting. My mod is a 3d print and this is the negative lead from 510 and the only ground to board, all other are on plastic no screws. Is this safe to use for now until I get some hot melt glue as mentioned by John.
  18. John, a quick question about the conformal coating.. if we use glue to stick the board to box, if any point we need to take it out by using a solvent like acetoin, will it take away the conformal coating on the board. Just wanted to be sure as there are different coating methods.
  19. Hi John, The notes are saved just on computer. Asking for them to store on chip would be asking too much.. ..
  20. As this is a feature request thread, just wanted to request a feature, if that seems useful to others too. Its hard to follow up on coil builds and their performance over time and the best way I handle this is to write up notes in a notepad. Now that we have escribe, can you put a small notes saving section in the profiles tab that we can edit and update our notes about the profile performance and keep notes on different coil performances. A small text window with something that can save the notes on the computer would be of great help, especially when associated with profiles.
  21. Any update on how the SS coils are working @Vape_Like_A_Boss. Just wanted to see if they are comparable to Ni200 in performance and accuracy.
  22. Huh.. that's interesting.. As the voltages are not consistent, do you think the board should limit users from charging if the power cables are not connected. I saw an instagram video earlier that shows the battery charging while the power leads doesn't seem to be connected. Link: https://instagram.com/p/4776UAj0KT/
  23. Would it be possible to use xt30 .. or 2mm bullets are going to be the max that we can fit in Hana. Can anyone help.
