Nichrome 80/60 are not suitable wires for temp control. Steam Engine does provide the TFR values for them on their site, but I believe their main use is for people who want to build hybrid builds for temp control with the DNA 200, such as mixing Kanthal & Ni200 or Titanium & Nichrome 80.

@gerbilstampede it sounds like something with the balance charging. There is a lot of information on here about it if you type in "Warranty Service" in the Keyword box in the search settings. You might want to start a RMA ticket with your vendor. Or you can open up one with Evolv, but I believe you will have to swap the chips yourself.

Yes, the reason I asked is because the same thing happened to me. When I got my DNA 200 everything worked fine, but as soon as I try to update the firmware on my iMac, using Virtual Box, everything went black. I tried everything and nothing worked, until I bought a Windows tablet. As soon as I plugged my device into the Windows computer, it lit up like a Christmas tree...unfortunately, it seems to be a hit or miss with the virtual machines, because it has worked for some, but not others. My suggestion is to to plug it into a Windows computer and then reboot the computer while it's plugged into the computer and see if that solves your problem.

Do you mind me asking what exactly is wrong with it? You would be surprised at what a little troubleshooting can do...you definitely came to the right place.

Normal protocol would be to open an RMA ticket with the B&M or online vendor you bought your device from and they should inform you what actions should be taken. I would imagine that if it's only 2 days old, it should still be under warranty. Although Evolv, to my knowledge, have given impeccable service to those that have opened RMA tickets with them, I feel they should be a last resort, unless you bought the chip directly from them. With that said, I am sure they will do everything they can to remedy the situation otherwise. So, I would contact the vendor you bought the device from first, and then Wismec, and if all else fails, Evolv.

The flavor is great. In all honesty, I can't tell a difference between the V1 & V2. One other thing I didn't mention, is that the V1 is shorter as well. I'm not much of a cloud chaser, like I said before, but I enjoy using it if I am at home relaxing. As long as I don't tip it, it won't leak and I can drip right onto the coils without removing the drip tip or top cap. Here's some pics of the V2 deck and then a height comparison...I would've showed the V1 deck, but I have juiced up coils in it, but it looks exactly the same, except take away the airflow holes-the V1 definitely has a bigger juice well for that reason

@RunsWithOtter- I didn't mention it in my first post about the Stro, but both the Version 1 & 2 have a 2 post design same as the Velocity and the holes are definitely big enough to build massive coils, such as any variation of the Clapton and so on... The only difference between the V1&2 is that only the V2 has bottom airflow coming from underneath the coils, as well as side airflow slots...It is a beautiful looking RDA all around. It comes with 2 different chuff caps-1 that has a spit-back screen (made of plastic built right into the cap to prevent juice from spitting into your mouth) and the other just wide open, and then of course it comes with the normal 510 adapter cap-all 3 caps have notches on them, so you can close off the side airflow and just use bottom airflow if you wish. I find myself using the Stro V1 much more often than the V2, only because I always worry about juice leaking on my mods and making a mess, but in all honesty, it is a work of art. If you are looking for a cloud chasing RDA that has a Velocity style posts, the Stro V2 is a beast. Sorry for the long message...I got carried away. Lol.

+1 for the Velocity as well-it's the one RDA that is truly a hybrid, in the sense that it caters to both the flavor chasers and the cloud chasers. I love them clouds brah, but I am definitely a flavor chaser too. Regardless, when it comes down to everyday functionality, especially when I am mobile/on-the-go, I prefer a top airflow RDA over a bottom airflow RDA, simply, because it's less messy. With that said, I still enjoy using my bottom airflow RDAs, such as my STRO Mini v1&2 when I am at home-definitely worth a gander if you're in the market for a cloud chasing RDA. Currently, other than the Velocity, The RDA I use mostly is the Sapor (by Youde/UD), which is not only a beast, but also very affordable. I was definitely surprised at how well it performed. It is a very simplistic top airflow design and very easy to build on. II also have the Aeolus V1, which my girlfriend has become attached to, and for good reason. It's been out for a while, but I think it still is a contender. Lastly, the Hobo V3.1, which I just got and haven't used, so I will have to update you guys at a later date. I enjoy my RTAs too! Maybe we should start a thread called "what are everyone's favorite RTAs?" too...

There may be a way to shoehorn the KVM virtual machine on an ARM chromebook, but it would probably require every last nerve and stand of hair from a seasoned Linux nerd; and that's without even getting the USB to work. For the sub 200.00, 150 bucks range, I'd go with a small Windows 10 tablet (with a USB port). I'd look at one of the Chinese brands on Gearbest. Hey, I just sent you a PM. In order to DL Escribe, all you need to do is go to the Evolvapor.com (evolv's homepage) and find the link to download the escribe software. Once you do that, install the software on to your chrome book and it will provide you with a shortcut icon on your desktop that once clicked will open up the program...and that's it. Plug in your DNA 200 and Vape on! It's fairly simple...hope that works! *Also, I suggest you use Google Chrome as a web browser, mainly for downloading and saving CSV (from Steam Engine) files to customize your device. For some reason, Internet Explorer will not save the CSV files.

I did the exact same thing-I was running VB on my iMac. I tried everything, but nothing worked, until I plugged it into a Windows tablet I purchased solely for the DNA 200-as soon as I plugged it in, my device lit up and is working fine ever since.

Nice...yeah, I haven't used that charger either. I have been using the USB solely. However, I did just purchase a Turnigy lipo charger from HobbyKing, since it charges over 1a current, in hopes of a faster charge time. Anyways, naturally I'm going to throw out the lowest offer possibly, so please don't get offended if you think it's too low. Will you take $100 for the mod and replacement battery? I'm assuming you purchased yours from GB like I did...

Blueridgedog has a great tutorial on how to set it up under the thread "Mac Support". When you open VB, did you make sure to go under the "ports" section where you find "USB", and then click the box next to "Dimensions Engineering...."? If you don't click that box the escribe will not recognize your device... If this doesn't help, make sure to read the tutorial in the "Mac Support" thread on the very first page. If that doesn't help, then I don't know.
