  1. I'm not 100% certain but I believe the Pure tanks are proprietary, the element only works in temp control on the IPV5 and SX Mini ML Contacting the producer or asking the vendor before making a purchase would be sensible.
  2. I believe that most who are using the 99.9% pure tool input the exact reading. The 85-90% margin was due to the use of thick pieces of indeterminate copper in atties before these tools were available. I also made sure that the 510 positive pin is really clean and use a little noalox when using the tool, doubt it makes and difference but like to be sure.
  3. That's great, thanks very much. Will just have to resist ordering some drip tips as well!
  4. Did you manage to source this in the UK?
  5. I really can't see the need for adjustable centre pins on atty's, it's just a throw back from the days of mech mods. A fixed solid connection is required for stability. I have a number of Squape atty's that suffered badly from inconsistent connection of the centre pin. I fixed them by stripping 5-6 strands from some 18 gauge siicon wire and putting that down the threaded hole in the base and then screwing in the centre pin, it bites into the wire and makes a better connection. I'm a temp limiting vaper although although the temp control route is just as viable and I can see why some use that. I don't see the DNA 200 as a temp controlled device, I feel a true temp controlled device would maintain a set temp by controlling the time the power is supplied, the power being a constant and the time variable. I'm not sure that would make for a good vape experience though. Cutting the power as it is now in my view makes it a temp limiting device. Just my thoughts.
  6. I think vapingbad said it all, but in answer to your question: I rarely adjust the temp for a given build/juice. Wattage is pretty constant also but I would adjust that more than the temp.
  7. Maybe a long post VB but wise and insightful words. I struggled for weeks in the early days and was a "I don't like TC" person, (btw I still don't like the term TC) but the principals mentioned above finally hit me. I changed some equipment, modified others and paid more attention to my builds and haven't vaped kanthal for over a year. It wasn't difficult but it was different and it was frustrating, but I'm glad I stuck with it.
  8. It takes about 15s to change the temp so is hardly much of an inconvenience. I understand why this is a desirable feature for many. I'm a temp limiting vaper but think this should be incorporated as an option.
  9. Personally I wouldn't want anything other than than the Evolv 510. I agree with VB that those in the UK that are interested get together and buy the enclosure DNA200 etc, and 510 in quantity for the best deal. Shipping from Protovapor for single 510 is a deal breaker for me. Also, duty etc is a bit of a lottery, I have had items that 'slipped' through with nothing to pay, plus it depends on how the supplier fills in the customs form!
  10. You'd have to factor in the Evolv 510, which I don't believe is available in the UK. As has been said, a complete package with 510 etc minus lipo would be good.
  11. It's good to know, I'm sure it does effect some Mac users decision to purchase a DNA200 device, I know it did for me. I've never attempted to run Windows on a Mac and even with all the (confusing to me) info available here I didn't want to try. After a long wait my wife managed to get an old redundant Dell latitude from her workplace. I now have EScribe up and running. It's all a bit strange as it's the first time I've used a windows computer, but it's doing the job.
  12. You're right, out of stock for couple of days and now back in. There's a few popping up elsewhere as well.
  13. TW did have them for £127.49 but sold out days ago. Well done for getting one but you have to admit they are like hens teeth. I do think this was always a planned limited edition (TW state that in their description) and the screen excuse is just a ruse. Time will tell. BTW I not that enamored with the underhanded tactics Joyetech/TW use but I guess we don't live in an ideal world!
  14. The long awaited Whiteout has an 1100mAh battery and the option of a 1300mAh, plus a dual 18650 sled, all easily and quickly user replaceable. It has many other desirable features but is large and nowhere as near the ergonomic design of the Reuleaux. I think you'll be very lucky to find another Reuleaux DNA for sale in the UK.
  15. I believe the Reuleaux DNA-200 is a limited edition and Wismec will at some point in the very near future stop production if they haven't already. A while ago I tried to pre order one from Joyetech, I was entitled to a first order discount but was told there was no reduction as it was limited edition. It seems it was always planed as such.
  16. I'm not sure you can tell by looking at the pics that the wires are silicon! All the wires are important for the efficient and safe operation of the device. As Gm11 states and I mentioned earlier there is an anomaly between the + & - wire gauge. it is obvious from the pics that something is amiss.
  17. Good to see you m8, I was gutted when you left AAE-C hope you are keeping well.[/QUOTE] I'm well. Sorry about that, my only regret was that I wouldn't get to see your craftsmanship at vapefest and get to show you 'Eclipse' but it was something I had to do for a number of reasons. I know there's a lot of scaremongering on the web, but even without actual measurements just looking at the pics (there even seems to be an anomaly between the + & - ) it's plain to see that the battery wires are much thinner than they should be, especially compared to the output ones, this leads you to believe they don't meet the specs. Can someone take the measurements please to confirm this.
  18. That was my face when I saw this VB. My first post, good to see you! Out of interest and as I'm waiting on one of these, if the battery connection wires don't conform to the Evolv specs, as they don't by the looks of that image, what redress does a customer have with the vendor/manufacturer if any.
