Sdna 75 screen stopped working.

Recommended Posts

My sdna75s screen has been acting up for a few days now. It would flash and freak out when I fired it or tried to take it out of stealth mode, then today it just went out completely, the mod works fine but the screen won't turn on at all. So far I have tried updating it and hard/soft rebooting it, at this point I'm not sure what it could be.

Could be the screen cable has worked loose or got pinched and damaged by fire button.  In ESccribe - Help - About click the logo 7 times then open Device Monitor and you will see a filed "Screen Disconnect" and if this is more than zero if is likely what I suggested.  I don't have that mod so can't say who easy it is to get to the cable to chech.

I'm assuming the screen disconnect number is a rolling count .... I began having problems with one of my DIY's - and when I did what you described above ... the number was 133. then when I hit the fire button it jumped to 141 - but I only hit the button once, so maybe I'm wrong on it being a counter. Anyway, I'm replacing the screen in that one. A buddy of mine has a factory SDNA and a DIY and both of his read 2 - and do not change. Neither of them. One is having intermittent problems - the other has no problems at all. Any ideas on that ?

So, last night, the screen on my SDNA 75 went dead, although the mod still fires.  Today, I went into the escribe software, clicked into the "service menu" and then selected Device Monitor tab.  While looking at the "screen disconnect" field, it kept counting upward, starting at about 150 and is now above 200. It increments sequentially about once every half second.

Thoughts?

In escribe, go to "Help" and select "about".  Click on the escribe logo about 7 times in rapid succession, and that takes you into the service mode.  Then select the tab to monitor the device, and down the left side of the screen, there is the box marked "screen disconnect."  Select it.  If the value is greater than zero, the screen cable is either disconnected or damaged.

in escribe, click "help" scroll down to "about escribe" when the window appears, click the evolv logo 7 or 8 times.the window will disappear. then go into device monitor and you'll see a new field that is labeled "debug". in the debug window you'll see "screen disconnect". it will be in seconds if the number is 0 that means your screen is secure in the ZIF connector. if the seconds are counting up or bouncing between anything higher than 0 you have a bad screen connection to the board.

EDIT......OH DANG, SORRY, THAT FIELD SEEMS TO HAVE DISAPPEARED???? STRANGE. AT LEAST IT IS ON WINDOWS 7

EDIT 2 LOL......IT'S THERE YOU JUST HAVE TO RESIZE THE SCREEN. I FOUND IT BY CLICKING "RESTORE DOWN" IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE DEVICE MONITOR WINDOW THEN I DOUBLE CLICKED THE TOP EDGE OF THE WINDOW AND SHRUNK IT UNTIL THE HIDDEN FIELDS COME OUT FROM UNDER THE "STATISTICS" PART OF DEVICE MONITOR.
