Weird cell voltages, board not working

Finally got my dna200 board in yesterday. Soldered a brand new lipo pack (turnigy 3S 1500mah) on it. Loaded up escribe and connected... everything was ok! cell voltages all the same 3.84v

today i grabbed my little project. my screen wouldn't light up any more (just for a few tenths of a second. Loaded up escribe again. The voltages are either zero or are dancing around. The screen doens't sy imbalanced battery or whatsoever.

Since standard practice is to send some data here it is (including video)...

have a close look where you soldered the balance plug into the board, make sure there are no dry joints and no loos strands of wires touching the other contacts,

looking at your pictures again the one figure that looks way off is the charging current of 3+amps that is 2 amps higher than the board should be asking for

what now then? should I send it back or is there another option?

Yea was just going to say take it off USB and don't connect it again unless your ok with blowing your PC's USB.  3 amps and 14.37 watts is to much for power draw through your ports.

You should contact your vendor or Evolv and see what they suggest.  I personally wouldn't connect it to my PC any further with the high current it's pulling is likely it could ruin your PC USB.  The board is only supposed pull 500mA if data lines are detected.

I contacted my vendor. ATI Store / Aplintech. I can send it back and they'll replace it. Too bad it costs $30.00 shipping to send it back. I read about a lot of failing boards. The new one is going to be from a better batch? How's the failure rate?

With your usb voltage being that high I'd say your missing or have a loose resistor around the balance port or usb plug. Either what I said above or a shorted or cold solder joint somewhere on the balance port's solder points.

How about an image of the board, especially the balance port soldering and the four resistors to the right of the USB plug prior to sending it back?

my new vtbox200 mod is not working. mod's lipo battery reading cell 1 # 2.96v, cell 2 # 1.51v, cell 3 # 0.0v . Is there any way to make it alive ??

you can try "USB recovery charge" from escribe but most likely it will not work because cell #3 is 0 volts. i would double check the lipo pack with DMM (digital multi meter) just to make sure the lipo is bad and not the board. be sure to check each of the three cells individually, one at time. if you do not know how or can not check the lipo pack, i would contact the vendor you purchased the mod from. last resort, open a help ticket with evolv.
