By the way, did you ever investigate why the HOG theme crashes? It is a low priority for me, but I am still curious. I was hoping my second HOG would have a working theme, but no such luck.
i think the original theme is broken , somebodies has not checked it when doing the theme for it.

Bill, I just looked it up, over there 😉 while complaining about my 2 POS Paranormals. It was Jan 5, 2019, my 4s Lipo running SP38 I said "I have 2 Non C LiPO's that maintain their voltages for weeks. My one 4S LiPO Color mod drains about 3% over a 24 hour period of not being used." Which was only .1V per cell.
Now that we know of that long period before sleep, I still run the latest firmware so the mod doesn't re-read all working parameters like SP33 has to.
i have another bit to add , its definitely wired up wrongly because I've just changed the batteries and without noticing i put 3 batteries in facing positive up and one positive down by mistake , shut the door and it powered up saying 3% battery life and i thought I've only just charged these and had another look and its then i noticed 3 facing positive it shouldn't powered up at all. anyway put them the right way and i got full charge showing but no auto fire this time. so Mr vaperz cloud has soldered it wrongly somehow. but im using it at the moment and it doesn't have issue being used its just when i come to change the batteries.

I also run this firmware on all of my DNA250C mods since it stops draining the battery after 60 minutes of non-use (I have over 25 DNA250C mods). The newer firmware versions keeps draining for 24 hours. And the latest versions have session mode which allows firing until you press the fire button again. It is used for non-eliquid stuff. You can disable session mode within EScribe if it is enabled in a Profile. I don't want it or use it, so I don't know much about it.
If I were you, I'd use another theme and use the original firmware SP33 just to try and see if the problem is still there. I can't see how a theme could cause this, but you never know. I'm not real hopeful that SP33 will fix it either. But both are easy to change and just maybe, something wonderful might happen.
thanks for the info but i use my own custom theme on it , so i know the ins and the outs of what everything i have does on the device and session mode is disabled. i don't see the point in it myself. you have to hit the power button to operate it anyway another 3 to 4 seconds is hardly worth letting my finger go .. lol. now if it was auto draw that would be a different story.

thank you , I've basically copied and pasted what i said here , I'm not looking to pay for a repair as i feel i shouldn't have to with what vaprez cloud seemed to have created this problem ever since it went for a spring fitted then off to Canada. back again because the 510 wire came off and its firing on its own 8 out of 10 times when i change the batteries. all i can do is see what they say and probably get them to look at it. if they can do it under a warranty, or its going to have to go back to vaperz cloud again.

I'm the proud owner of a Vaperz Could DNA400C which i bought new in January 2023 round about May last year i noticed my DNA wasn't charging via USB. even though i don't charge any of my devices by usb i wanted it repaired. i sent it off to vaperz cloud knowing it was an easy fix because the spring had just gone making connection to the bottom of the battery door. this was creating the issue, vaperz cloud informed me that also there was something wrong with the board itself and they would have to send it to Evolve in Canada ( i live in the UK) for a new board, this took 5 months round trip. i got it back the second week in November and after about 2 weeks of use it refused to fire. sent it again away to vaperz cloud where he found out that the wire to the positive pin had come off and he would have to solder it back on. ive been using it again for 2 weeks and more or less 8 times out of 10 when i change the batteries if auto fires by itself and i have to take the battery door off to stop it from firring, i put the battery door back on and it fine again.
should i be worried ? i really don't want to send it back again, since i bought it I've hardly used it.

The cover hinges at each side where the ribbon goes underneath the connector. Go to the opposite end, and lift/push the cover towards the ribbon. I think I've used a fingernail or tweezer at the edge of the cover. It will stand vertical to the board.Make sure to slide the new cable in straight and far enough. When you push that cover down, you'll hear/feel it click in.

nope , no changes made to the brightness setting , its that this screen is really bright compared to my other DNA's . ive another 3, 250C's and nowhere near as bright and like i said altering the brightness doesn't seem to affect it much

My screen is really bright , even adjusting screen brightness does not effect it much. would it be better to change the screen if they just fit on the board with a ribbon ?

ive tried a few custom theme related images on my DNA 60 but the white seem so bright and the image is bad quality even though im using the correct dimensions. any tips anyone can give me to get a better quality image , maybe use an off white instead or is the screen limited in image quality

mystery solved itself , after applying the service pack 3 times. gave up hope, took the batteries out ready to have it returned to the shop.
I've got up in the middle of the night and had a drink and i thought i will just give this another go and it connected to escribe straight away.
I'm wondering if its a funny chip i have because i had to reload the service pack a coupe of days ago when it wouldn't upload a theme. i have 2 mods exactly the same model, one in silver and one in gun metal. the silver one now I've had issue twice and i do exactly the same on the device as i do on the gun metal one regard's to setup and themes.
this is where uninstall device is located and thanks for helping much appreciated.

don't know if this means anything but i took the batteries out again and operated the device just off usb power alone and i looked through the theme again and where you set the date and time it says Clock Error, but when i put the batteries back in it returns to normal

i didn't have the option reload firmware but apply service pack , so i did the recommend one and it accepted it and loaded it , its still saying device in use after that i tried the previous service pack , accepted it but still device in use message. I've looked in to all the options on the theme and i did notice time out was about 600 minutes. so i brought it down to 1 minutes waited 5 minutes and still no joy.
what would uninstalled device do in escribe ?

yep , its just weird the theme works on the mod , but it wont connect anymore to escribe or theme designer , i can unplug and plug the usb back into my pc and hear the bell that a usb device has just been connected . it just wont connect to escribe or theme designer anymore. just comes up with device in use every time i try to connect it to the programs

Long time no see , but i thought id try here before i send my mod back
i uploaded a theme to my device and i cant change it to another theme or can i connect to escribe or theme designer , it just keeps saying device in use, yet the theme is full functional but the problem remains it wont connect to escribe or theme designer.
I've tried leaving the batteries out for an hour or so , still the same problem
its not the usb wire or pc because it worked before and i can upload and change themes and use escribe on another DNA i have
any suggestions before i return it or submit a ticket.

So you have the evolv enhanced theme installed , you may aswell install that as its slightly better than the standard which is visually similar and you are wanting on the replay screen the ability to change wattage and temperature from the replay screen ? its not impossible but you would have to remove or resize pretty much all of the main screen as the replay screen uses 3/4 of that page . you could take a look at my theme i uploaded that is based off the evolv's enhanced theme because there is a lot of shortcuts to different page options

you could flip the screen to landscape and create a theme similar to it

just updating this as i ran into a problem just recently , it seems another bug in Windows 10 that some users are having trouble with custom fonts when installing to the font folder they simply wont show up in the list of fonts you've installed when using different applications , how i fixed this is to create anew folder on your C drive and name it New Fonts , copy and paste your desired font in this folder you've just created and rick click the font and select install for all users and this should now install the font to the main font folder in windows and should be available in different application as a listed font - you can now delete the font in the folder you created

you are in danger of shorting the usb socket in your motherboard , or worse , the computer doesn't understand firstly that one usb cable leads to 8 devices because you need a usb hub , a powered one to be exact and also you need a data transfer compatible usb lead from all 8 mods to the computer , you cant just use any usb cable - but if this is what you intend to do or achieve buy the correct stuff to do it as i mentioned in my previous reply.

3 things here are wrong , 1 your computer wouldnt push more than 5 amps , 2 the wire wouldnt support more than 5 amps and 3 this is dangerous - what you need is a powered usb hub with at least 8 usb slots powered by your house hold plug and 8 separate usb leads you can also connect the hub to the computer but the hub is still going to be needed to be plugged in to the socket.

its normal , the longer they are left out the more the time is off - just connect to escribe and run device monitor and it will update automatic

just give you my input as im reading this thread , if you have ASmedia USB3.0 Drivers installed remove them and let windows just configure them , in the past they have been known to cause me issues when usb's aren't recognised either in windows or in programs

well having a chat with Vaperz Cloud who was very helpful and the guy from SV, all i can put this down to a gremlin in the software. i opened up 2 escribes and my DNA without issue copied over to the escribe setting to the HOG that fired on its own for some reason and all that was different was temp was Fahrenheit instead of Celsius and ever since then I've had no issues with the HOG. whether someone can make sense out of that because i cant.
