1. I am sorry to hear this mate. The first hotcig I got was a disaster-blown fuse and damaged battery, I had to send it to Evolv for a repair (they replaced the board, and rewired it). Gearbest were awful to me, I got a refund off them after nearly 3 months though, then this just turned up, a V2. None of the issues of the original-I am almost sure the silver button version was just a bad quality and made device-and kind of a beta to see how well the hotcig will do. I hope you have yours back soon-are you dealing with hotcig or Evolv? I will say Bennett stuck to his word-that I knew nothing of, and sent the V2 out to me. Is yours the silver buttoned version and what issues were you having? Hope you have it soon man. Conan.
2. I must add, Evolv and Nick were a huge help with the first one, replacing the faulty board for me. So, hotcig made a big mess up with the silver button batch. I have a feeling this is much better quality, it even feels different in the hand.
3. Hi everyone. I received a text that my DHL delivery was due for delivery, and was puzzled as I had no DHL deliveries I knew of. It arrived, I opened it, and inside was a brand new hotcig DNA200, the packaging has changed so the battery is seperate and not connected, so it can not drain like it was. It also has some minor differences, like black buttons, a nicer fire button-and I suspect maybe some internal changes. I put the battery in, bam all at 4V. Perfectly balanced. I have set it up in Escribe, and it had some minor changes, there was already a custom start screen there, and the battery was set to 10 W/h's. I have a feeling the silver button models where in a way test models, that is why there was so many issues. I got that one repaired by Evolv, and it has a new board in. Also, gearbest surprisingly refunded me. Paypal already had done so. So I have two DNA200's for the price of the Chip alone in the UK. I am astonished. I also suspect there may of been a battery change as this one seems to go down slower, again making me think they changed the buttons to easily distinguish between the fast put together betas, and the ones that are fully ready for release. I am keeping both though, as the silver buttoned one has been rewired by Evolv, so can't get much better than that, and the new one functions perfectly. A very happy suprise- each device has now cost me £42.50. That is bloody good for a fully working DNA200.It's took a few months, but in the end worked out well for me. I checked my emails, and it was Bennett from hotcig that had sent me a replacement due to what I had gone through with the silver button model. I made sure to thank him. That is one thing I did not EVER expect though.
4. Hi people-I was wondering something earlier. I understand that with the DNA200's nominal voltage of 11.1V, and full charge of 12.6V, and its lowest charge, If I build below 0.4 the highest it hits is 20A. I notice that with a Nickel .13 build 80W preheat, and a punch around 6, it hits up to around 13 amps for a fraction of a second then once it hits temp drops to 7 and under. So, is it safe to run my DNA200 just once to test it at its full power-building below 0.4 to make sure I am 5 amps under the 25A fuse blowing. Say I accidentally had a standard build on there, but the power was near 200W, but above 0.4, and I didn't notice and fired, what would happen? Would it not fire-or would it fire and the fuse blow? I am very unlikely to do so-both devices will be used with TC in mind, the hotcig for lower wattage, the Efusion for my drippers and 80-100W max builds/coils that need that power. I understand under 0.4 I am safe, at 12.6V it goes to 0.7 but I would only build lower for two reasons-I would not want to blow the fuse, and I don't fancy 200W at 0.7 lol. So, really my question is will it not fire, or will the fuse blow? Thanks people, Conan.
5. I really hope so too. The wismec Realaux DNA200 is one mod I REALLY wanted. Hopefully in a few months its available. Till then LI-PO power is the way then .
6. That is kind of what I was hoping for. But oh well, things come and go I guess. I have contacted one UK vendor who claims to be waiting for stock of the Wismec DNA200, told them about the change, and if they will actually be getting DNA200 or DX200's in them. I even had the new batteries for the wismec. Shame really. If it will be a DNA200, I will buy it as it will likely be my last chance. But, I have probably missed the chance. I knew I should of ordered it earlier-that thing would of lasted me all day and then some easily. I guess 14.something W/h's from the Efusion is not too bad though, plus at least I get a free LI-PO with it and custom dripper. I will likely get the V2 when thats out too so I can run 18650's. I don't know why, it could be where I used to fly helis and every week would read of a Li-Po explosion or swelling, I am very wary of them. Like I wont be using it anywhere near 200W, highest will be 60-80W, and thats pushing it. So the 133W dual batt version will suit me fine, with a preheat of 80W and average vape between 20-30 watts, apart from the uwell crown and Crius's I own, which need more power but they taste amazing. The 9.9 W/h battery of the hotcig lasts I would say inbetween a single battery and a dual battery mod. I am hoping the 1300MAH can make it last as long as a dual battery mod. If it does, I have no need for the efusion V2.
7. I was just astounded. I can understand the shortage, and it was limited edition-but the realaux is still a jaybo design. I wonder if he has been consulted about this change to a cheaper chip? Oh well. 27.75 W/hs is a dream now. I hope the 1300MAH battery is on par with a dual battery device-if not I am going to get the Efusion V2 when it releases in December, dual 18650, but also includes a plate and connector so you can run it as LI-PO device. I will probably use duals though, just for the W/h's.
8. Hi everyone. My New Wismec DNA200 should be turning up Saturday, and I have a question regarding W/h's. I have bought 3 brand new 25R's for the device-now does this make the battery pack 7500MAH, with over 27 W/h's, or should the W/h's be set lower than this? It was around 27.75, but I was thinking not each 25R may be fully 2500MAH, so 27 W/h's was more conservative. This was putting the voltage in at its nominal, 3.7V, and 7500MAH with the three 25R's. Have I got this right-and shall set it to a massive 27 W/h's, or have I miscalculated and it is much less? I wouldn't want to ruin a brand new device, So some advice on what I should set it at would be helpful. Thanks everyone, Conan.
9. Hi people. I watched a 3 hour long tutorial on Escribe that was on youtube, so am pretty versed in it, this was a while ago. But, for the life of me, I can not remember how to set up Escribe so I can run my hotcig, with its own settings, and the wismec realaux with different profiles. As I am getting it sometime next week, I have pre ordered it, I want to know how to now so I can get a basic profile set up ready for the device. So, just some advice really on how to run more than 1 DNA200 device in escribe, with different settings and profiles for each device. Thanks everyone, Conan.
10. Hi everyone. I sorted my hotcig battery, but ask as 1 cell went to 4.21V during charging, and worried me a bit. My plan is when I get the Wismec, to charge it overnight (In a safe environment) so its charged when I wake and ready to use. I am pretty certain it does, as I can see the Amps going down to like 0.01 when charging has finished, but will it still continue to charge? I am NOT going to charge the hotcig overnight, due to having to sort the battery out as it would not charge past 3.86V and using a li-ion charger, running positive and negative into the ports of cell 1's balance connection, I am not going to risk it. I wouldn't Risk it anyway, but I think nothing of charging my phone overnight, so will be doing the same with the wismec next week. So, will I be safe from voltage going over 4.2 volts? Thanks people, Conan.
11. and would you believe it-I pulled it at 4.16V, am finishing with the wall charger and its at 4.18V, so I think once charged, it may well work. I am a bit worried it will get stuck at 3.86-90 again, but now its been charged past that I don't think it will. If this works, I will be one happy bunny. The battery bar has already shot up from what it ever was-So that bodge job wiring from my Li-ion charger to the balance ports of cell 1 may of worked. I am happy now, will have the true life I expect from it . EDIT: Woop its hit 4.20 on normal USB charging. Just to find out if it charges past when I have discharged it.
12. Nearly done-4.16V, I tested it out first to just 3.95V to make sure it would charge to it, and it would-once its hit full charge it will be off, then escribe to get the other two cells charged .
13. OK-I rigged it up the same, and it IS making the voltage climb, I got to 3.95, but then thought I will do it when cell 2 and 3 is at say 3.95V, then get cell 1 the same, and hope it charges in escribe. If not I guess I will have to go to the full capacity carefully watching the LI-PO.
14. Trying to do this as I have ANOTHER bad hotcig battery, cell 1 will charge to a max of 3.85V, while cell 2 and 3 fully charge. This mod has been nothing but trouble, can't wait for the Wismec Realaux to come next week . I can't even get the charger to recognise I have a battery inserted (Nitecore D4). 'Bennett' from hotcig asked for my name and adress and said he is sending me a new DX200 on Monday, hopefully he keeps to his word.
15. Hi people, you may remember the nightmare I have had with gearbest and Hotcig-so much so I have pre ordered a DNA200 wismec Realaux from the UK-should have it late next week . But, until then, my only dna200 device is the hotcig. I got a replacement battery from fasttech, and read it with my multimeter, 11.31 V, great I thought, a battery that will work. My Actual device was in the USA though undergoing repair by Evolv (I am in the UK). I got the device back, put the battery in, and was greeted for the first time with a device that worked without having to be connected to a computer, I was over the moon. Until I charged it. Cell 1 will not charge past 3.85V, 3.86 if I am Lucky, while cell 2 and 3 charge to 4.2V. This leaves me with instead of 10W/H's, just under 6. So I can use the device, which I am doing now, but the battery does not last long. Is there any way to get this cell to charge to its full capacity? I have spoke to 'Bennett' from hotcig-and he has said due to the things I have been through, he will send me a new DX200 via DHL on Monday, and asked for my name and address. Fingers crossed I get help-third time lucky maybe. BUT I have heard that hotcig and gearbest have been awful to customers, but then people threaten them with something to do with a Chinese Ombudsman, I will have to find more information on it-and each time hotcig and gearbest have refunded or sent a new device straight away. So, any ideas what I can do? This battery is on about its 5th cycle, I was hoping after a few cycles maybe it will come back to life-at first it would only charge to 3.80, but then went up to 3.84, now it hits 3.86, anyone that could help me to get this battery working properly I will be forever thankful. I am just glad I can use it while its on charge-as this and one of my other mods has become my two firm favourites performance wise, just the crappy battery ruins this one. Thanks everyone, Conan.
16. \ Oh haha I am not used to Fahrenheit, we live in the UK where we drive in miles per hour, weigh our self in pounds and ounces, but sell our meat and food by the gram and kilo and measure projects in CM/MM. We have one confusing system out here lol.
Ayy we've got some things in common then hahaha. You must be weighing a baby you forgot the stone..
Oh hahaha, I did forget the stone! I weigh 11 stone 7 .
17. Hi there Digatel, I thought the hotcig battery WAS the fullymax that Evolv sell-it has the exact same dimensions as the fullymax 900MAH, plus the same constant and burst ratings. I agree hotcig is shady though. "Bennett" is currently speaking to me, and has said he will send me a new DX200 on Mondat due to everything I have had to go through via DHL, he asked for my adress and said he will give me a tracking number. But, I will find out on Monday/Tuesday if he follows through on this promise.
18. Yes I do have multimeter, when I got the battery it measures at 11.31V-so I thought great, a replacement that will work. BUT when I got my DNA200 back from Evolv, guess what? Cell 1 will charge to a maximum of 3.85V, 3.86 if I am lucky. Cell 2 and 3 charge to the full 4.2V. So, intead of 10W/h's I get 6. I can't wait for the wismec realauz to come next week, and be done with the hotcig-I will just use it as a back up. I am using it right now, but the battery life is comparable to a single battery device at around 30 or so watts. So, it works, flawlessly, and performs the best out of all my devices-but I got a bad battery, AGAIN.
19. \ Oh haha I am not used to Fahrenheit, we live in the UK where we drive in miles per hour, weigh our self in pounds and ounces, but sell our meat and food by the gram and kilo and measure projects in CM/MM. We have one confusing system out here lol.
20. Thank you for your clear, concise answers. Ok so around 4 hours-I guess when I get the wismec next week it will be quicker to use my external charger won't it? As I will use the hotcig while that charges. Also plenty of other good devices to use. I am annoyed with hotcig though. This second battery seemed OK when I got it, the DNA was still being RMA'd though-and it read around 11.3 volts. WHen I charge it, cell 2 and 3 will charge fully to 4.2V, but cell 1 only go 3.84 volts, no higher. I am hoping this will sort itself out over a few cycles, its only had two, but if not I am not wasting no more money on the hotcig-I will have the wismec and likely a dual battery DNA200, the Efusion V2. I know its 'only' 133W, but that is WELL enough for me, I am likely to never use above 80-100 watts.
21. Also-my battery when empty has a voltage of around 3.5V a cell-my soft cut off is set to 3.09V. Is my battery actually higher MAH than I thought? Or is this just the way these batteries work? As I understand minmum voltage on my battery is 9 volts-this is closer to 10V.
22. Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask a question regarding charge time, of my hotcig DNA 200. It has a 900MAH Li-Po, and Escribe charges it at around 500MA-so does this mean in theory it should be fully charged in around 2 hours in Esribe? Also, I have a 1A wall adapter-but noticed the board temp was increasing, it increased to around 93F so I stopped using that, but will it be warmer charging at 1A? If the battery is 900MAH-would 1 A charge it in around an hour? Or have I got this all wrong in my head? Thanks for putting up with my questions everyone, Conan.
23. Also silly question-but do I just connect to escribe, straight to USB? I don't have to choose anything on the mod before do I, and to remove it I always press 'disconnect'-I am getting the wismec in a week as I have pre ordered it, but want to use this as well, so make sure I am not damaging my device in any way, shape or form. Is the 1A wall charger sufficient, or would it be better to get a higher rated adapter, and then let the mod pull what it wants? Or stick to the 1Amp 5V adapter I have. Sorry for the questions-I have a lot of regulated mods and mechs, but the DNA 200 is a whole different experience. Bit peeved that my brand new hotcig battery seems to be charging cell 2 and 3 to 4.2 volts, but cell 1 is unbalanced at around 3.84 volts. Its' not fully charged, but has stayed at 3.84 volts for ages. I am going to use the device now, till near empty, then charge again, and hope the cells are balanced closer. If I have more problems with the hotcig I will just write it off as a costly mistake.
24. I also want to make sure that a USB cable wont cause any issue-should I use the OG cable or any USB cable I own for charging?
