SirTimmyTimbit Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 Hello! As I understand the 75c has reverse battery protection when using a single cell. The 250c also has reverse battery protection even when using a multi-cell setup because it's series. It seems like if I wire a 75c in a parallel setup with 2 cells, and insert one of the batteries the wrong way, it's going to hard short and make the circuit series. Is a P channel FET the best way of building reverse battery protection? This thread was quite useful. These two mosfets look like just the thing I'd need. The specs look about right. I'd really appreciate if someone can chime in.
Podunk Steam Posted June 17, 2018 Report Posted June 17, 2018 (edited) Why not just three fuses? Color me simplistic. Ur two anyway, just depends on the configuration. Automotive resets come to mind although there are smaller alternatives. Edited June 17, 2018 by Podunk Steam Brain fart
SirTimmyTimbit Posted June 17, 2018 Author Report Posted June 17, 2018 Yeah I decided to go with 2 x PTC fuse on these boards.
dc99 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Those boards work great with this type https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/littelfuse-inc/MHP-TA15-9-77/MHP-TA15-9-77-ND/3748602
