Grounding by the chassis does work, just need to do it well and remove any anodising on the ground point.

pg 16 of the data sheet

The DNA 200 has three mounting holes on the PCB. These holes are designed for #0 screws. There is an extended mounting pad of .125” diameter around each. These holes are electrically connected to each other and to ground. With careful design, the mounting pads can be used to ground the chassis to the DNA 200, and pass the output current through chassis to the connector. However, if using this method, ensure that the PCB remains in good contact with the board at all times. Split lock washers and a RoHS chromate conversion coating on the chassis are recommended.

Ya I read that when I was building the box but didn realize I didn machine the holes for bolting it in so maybe I'll just design a new box with mounts for board.... How do you have yours held in? And did u make a box or buy it

Tricky I don't know what else to suggest apart form saying that it is easy to get a dry/poor joint on the positive of some 510 connections with a hole the wire goes into.  Good luck.

If this is a DIY mod, shoot us a pic of the wiring.  I'm curious how you have it grounded.  If you ran a negative ground from the board to the negative on the 510, you wouldn't need to use the mounting holes w/ screws.  However, if you did have a metal enclosure and used those mounting holes to ensure a ground, that ground wire to the 510 isn't necessary.

Your pre-heat settings will make a difference here as well, so a quick rundown of how you're set in EScribe would be nice.

Bern18462 - Do have the temperature accidentally turned off? In one of the pics the temperature readout showed ---F, which is usually the case when the temperature setting is set to off.
