Ruuka Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 Built a new mod worked great for 2 weeks. After shipping it out and the customer using it for a day it was at 50% power and then powered off. The customer plugged the mod into escribe but it won't charge because it says the cells are unbalanced and pretty much dead. The total voltage in the battery now is 4.85v. My thinking is there must be a problem with the balance connectors maybe a line got knocked/ripped off but wouldn't that just change voltage to one cell not all three? Any help would be appreciated. Customer is sending the mod back for repair and possibly a new battery.
blueridgedog Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 I would try one or two USB recovery charges, but if you suspect shipping damage, it may be best to have it returned to you to inspect.
Ruuka Posted October 27, 2015 Author Report Posted October 27, 2015 This is what I found after inspection. I'm just gonna see if evolv will fix the board for me. Don't know how it happened. Also I wonder is this part has some control over low voltage cutoff
awsum140 Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 From the looks of that one chip, I'd send it back. I won't even comment about the soldering/connections for the atomizer.
blueridgedog Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 It is a documented issue, though rare. They will take care of it no doubt. I have only seen two on this forum but it was described as the chip not being held in place properly during a pass through the soldering process.
