Escribe upload settings to device error

Recommended Posts

Ummm...

yea! :) 'cept you got it backwards. Works in my VM and NOT in my Primary (Windows 7) PC. (Yea - also works if I boot my primary in safe-mode; however THEN I loose all the tools I need to debug what is going on on the PC !!!).

The reason I created the VM was 1) to see if it worked and @ since it works --> bypass the (literally) hundreds of device drivers I've got loading (both active and in-active) after 5 or 6 years of installs / uninstalls and generally running without issues.

As a device (any device that is plug-able in Windows) becomes active there are literally hundreds of registry keys read/written to that tell Windows what it is, how to talk to it, can Windows "write" to it ..... ETC on infinitude ...

I identified the drivers used by the "Dimension Engineering" device ... then the pertinent registry keys used to configure the device to (for) those drivers ... the exact number - I can't say but "just" on the working VM there are several hundred. If you don't believe ... search your registry on {4d36e978-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} - let me know how many references you find. Somewhere in there it tells Windows how to use the drivers for this device class.

At this point I'm thinking a "clean install" to ID the registry settings and the a quick and dirty program to compare those used by my primary PC. I pretty sure it only a handful of keys; just don't know at this point "which". After all it reads from the device cmos ... just doesn't 'write' to it.

Then again ... I could be all wet & making it harder that it Really Is

Interesting... So you hit Connect and Download Settings, it downloads your settings, and then you upload and get this error?

What kind of curves do you have in the Materials tab? (Are any of them extremely flat, or otherwise unusual?)

In the Mod tab, Advanced, does the Battery Discharge Curve look flat?

Sometimes the curve will say "Curve is not one-to-one". Do any of them?

I have the same problem, i can't change any setting from the mod anymore via escribe. I can't download fine, but i can't upload anything. even a simple download and upload will fail with the "Curve is not one to one". always get this error..
Is there a fix for this ?

This is driving me nuts..

Ok, i found a way around my problem, maybe it will be interesting for you James. Escribe was set to Autodetect and i am French. So it was using French as auto detected.
I thought about what was written earlier in this thread, and I manually changed the language to English. And i tried to upload settings. Guess what? It worked!

So for some reason, the french auto detect was giving me this curve error, while the english setting does not.

Scy123! I am very glad it helped ! I hope Administrator will notice this post.

I had noticed one thing, before i changed the settings to manual english, one profile tab (only one), had no possibility to select a custom picture. that feature was not showing up at all in Escribe.
Maybe that resulted in a corrupted setting file that were trying to be sent to the mod. When i changed to english, all my profiles tabs were back to normal and i could upload settings

Exact same fix here for a Hcigar VT133 (serial 8638).

Seems that it doesn't matter what language you use, auto-detect is the culprit.

Even though I use 'English' by default, with 'auto-detect' checked, the software STILL didn't work for me 'out of the box' (v1.0.42).

Once I set the language manually (to English), things fell into perfect order when trying the first upload of settings.

Thanks for sharing your findings!!
