JamieanJanie
Im new to using Ni200 for a dripper was wondering where I should start as far as building a coil or coils. Should I build as low as possible?
Wayneo
Why build as low as possible? Use steam-engine and figure out the wraps and I-D you like and it'll tell you what it would ohm out to.
JamieanJanie
I was under the impression that with tc the lower your build the more accurate it is. been building four years now Im very well versed on steam engine. just wondering where to start should I just treat it like Kanthal? also theres no dual coil option on steam engines wire wizard whats up with that? chisposeti
I use the "parallel" option in order to simulate a dual coil build in the wire wizard.
Wayneo
@JamieanJanie, I use SS and build to around .3-.4 and it's bang on temp. Smooth as glass line in Device monitor. I believe the bigger issue is ensuring that both coils are identical for perfect temp control. I just checked, and under 'coil-wrapping' - setup, there certainly is dual coil. Cheers man
VapingBad
0.1 to 0.2 ohm for Ni is a good starting point, but lower is not better as far as I know, it is probably repeated because Ni200 has a very low res and you need to go low to make a reasonable size coil. I regularly use 0.05 dual setup and wouldn't go lower than that, although it will work.
