  1. that is one reason why I think they are coming out with a new chip. to get the sales while they can. this would be wise business. they will survive, I am going to guess that the US is about 1/2 their sales. but they sure will take a hit.
  2. THANX ! I have a block of stab coming. I am thinking about making a mod.
  3. they are not going to tell pretty much anyone.
  4. yes, it's tight. loosening the cap is working, and working well. just turned back just a little. and I now have it at 65w with boost on. I think there may be a bure or something in there.
  5. ok, I just tried it. still gets hot. but, I loosed the cap just as little, and it didn't get hot. but I still have to test it some more.
  6. I have not tried it yet, will soon.
  7. the battery is convex, so only a very small contact is made, I can see it. I have a lathe, so I made the contact on the cap concave.. also, I don't "know" how the copper contact is attached to the cap. if they didn't do it right = high resistance = high heat. I am thinking to silver solder around the outside. Mooch, yeah, I know = fakes. …. ok, so, I can run this mod with a known good 18650 ? I can make a sleeve very easy. ok, I will check soon. thanx
  8. that's what I did, I didn't know they were called ramps. I know I am the 2nd owner, I know the 1st owner well, online at least. and I may be the 3rd, or more, who really knows. I wonder if VA would tell me who they sold it to, hmmm.
  9. not necessarily. if the foam/whatever was form fitted to behind the buttons.
  10. ok, I just cleaned where the cap touchs the bottom, it was dirty. it better now, but not good. perhaps good enough, I will have to use it more to see. one thing I have noticed. the batt neg is convex, the cap contact is flat = very little contact.
  11. this can is not threaded, it is push and turn. the battery does not get hot at all. I took a good hit, cap was hot. I took out the battery in like 1 second, and it was room temp right on the contact. I am not a battery pro at all. but this battery is 40+ amp =seems plenty. but what do I know. and I don't need to vape at 75w, mostly 55-60. other than the heat the mod works just fine.
  12. oh. if it says "watt boost" in the settings, then it has the firmware for it ?
  13. ok, that's what I thought on both counts. the reason I ask. I have a Visious Ant Primo Titanium 26650. when using it at 50w, the battery cap gets momentarily hot, enough to startle. VA says this normal ! I'm like, NO, ITS NOT! but it seems to be for this mod. as the cap was poorly designed. VA and the guy I got it from tell me to run it at 40w and high resistance coil = bull chit. I am thinking of a fix. otherwise it is what it is.
  14. DNA75c. can this chip be used at 75W ? and I thought I remembered reading something about it have a boost to 100w, what's up with this ? thanx
  15. I bet there is some kind of foam or something behind the buttons causing the issue.
  16. perhaps not a new "chip". but perhaps a larger screen chip, which would be GREAT! after all, this screen is pretty small by todays standards. no, it's not "old", 2 years I think ? as a business, they should sell to just about anyone that wants them. that would be great, maybe.
VERY COOL ! I had been wanting a radioactive wallpaper, and this one is great ! but, I would like to have less info on the main screen
  17. I think Evolv is coming out with new chips. and they are letting current stock run low, and/or, are still in development and/or production. probably all of the above.
  18. perhaps because the kanthal is what is "touching" the contacts ? idk, just say'n. but sounds reasonable.
  19. great, thanx. I have been just loading different themes. I am not the type to actually "make" one. going to try another one now.
  20. 10% would not drive many current owners to upgrade. 25% and we would see a bunch of used current model mods on the used market. be that as it may, they have to do something, regardless
  21. yeah, I know what you mean. where else can they go with this ? 25% larger would be fantastic.
