  1. You can toggle temp protection by toggling "temperature" on escribe under profiles.
  2. Not sure if I would call this a bug, however I have noticed that all the temp fields (last puff temp, last puff peak temp, recordings temp etc.) return null if temp protection is disabled. You can still see the temp ramp up either on the device graph or using device monitor, meaning the board is still actively monitoring... so why disable these fields ? I don't want to use temp protection, although still want temp to be reported back on my screen.. I would rather replay take care of the temp control instead of setting a hard limit. I would really appreciate if these fields were active all the time regardless if temp protection was enabled while using temp sensing wire..
  3. I believe you can still get the temp protection message in the DNA75C, I recall seeing something in the theme editor.. I'll have to check when I'm home from work. Depending on the coils you were using at the time, firing a temp control coil with no temp protection would definitely give you a super hot vape hahahaha. I wanted to add the method I mentioned above (disabling temp protection) should only be used with coils safe to fire in wattage mode (stainless steel coils), otherwise as you mentioned it's going to be a wicked hot vape while using any other temp control wire.. at the very least ramp that wattage right down and work your way up.
  4. Well if you disable temp protection, the temp you have set is irrelevant.. the specified temp is only considered if temp protection is active. Now your SS316 profile all of a sudden is behaving very similar to wattage mode while temp protection is disabled, however with the addition of TCR/temp feedback. If you activate replay mode while temp protection is disabled, replay can now begin governing power delivery without temp control interrupting and getting in the way.
  5. I think we need to shift our way of thinking when using replay on temp control profile.. I know I personally did. Rather then using temp protection and focusing on limiting a specific temp we should hand the reigns over to replay, we still get the benefit of additional temp stats in our monitoring however replay is determining the appropriate temp in the given situation.. I am curious tho, do TCR's and wire type play a role with replay ? When replay initially came out this is what confused me the most, what's the advantage of replay in temp control if I have a set specific temperature limit? What am I gaining exactly? I realized I was using replay wrong.. after discovering replay itself prevents cotton charring this really opened my eyes to the simplicity. I'm planning on modifying my personal theme to no longer be so focused around temp as a means of adjusting the vape experience while replay is active on a profile.. because simply put it no longer is.
  6. My experience with replay has been pretty positive so far, definitely feel's like I'm getting more flavor. As other have mentioned tho I've noticed the power bounces around quite aggressively, it has been interesting to watch.. pretty cool watching the board adapt to each puff. I've vaped my cotton pretty dam dry, does seem to be protecting against charring which is pretty dam impressive considering there is no set temp limit. I'm planning on building a 250C sometime this week, I'm excited to see the comparison between the two boards..

I just re-watched the interview with evolv by djlsb vapes, they were using replay mode in wattage mode and running the RDA's dry.. so that must mean there is some sort of temp protection built into replay mode. They mention the wire type is irrelevant while using replay mode.. I will try the same when I get home from work today and see if replay mode does indeed prevent dry hits as advertised.. if it does I can see the appeal to it as this would simplify things tremendously. I encourage you to watch the interview if you haven't already.. has cleared up a few of my questions for me. I also encourage you to try running a RDA dry while using replay mode! EDIT:
  9. So whilst using replay in the watts material profile, if you continue to vape would you eventually burn your cotton ? Or does replay mode also include temp protection ?
  10. I'm trying to figure all this out also, I've tried using replay mode without temp control, with temp control, with temp protection & without... Bit confused what replay mode is actually doing at the moment !! I was initially under the impression I could use replay mode in a "wattage" like mode and it would automatically prevent dry hits & cotton burn... replicating the last puff - simple temp control it has been sold as. If I'm using SS316 in a wattage mode with replay enabled can I assume I won't get any dry hits or cotton burn after replaying a puff? Or should I be using temp control with temp protection still ? @James any idea ?
  11. Right so my cotton won't burn while using replay mode ? I can't see any temp stat's in device monitor am I missing something here ?
  12. Hope your all doing well ! I'm a little confused on what the entire purpose/benefit of replay mode is... I've updated my device and modified my theme. I've followed the advice on a few threads and enabled replay mode on the "wattage" profile. Took a few hits and saved my puff, what exactly is replay mode doing ? I've already set my desired wattage.. so wouldn't the board just replicate that anyway without replay mode in the mix ? Also by using replay mode am I loosing out on temp protection? I noticed you can enable temp protection by changing the material on a profile with replay mode enabled... although does replay mode automatically temp protect or should I also enable temp protection ? How is this any better than the old temp control ? I also noticed that any temp statistic's are also disabled while using replay mode - really wish this wasn't the case so I could at least monitor what the board is doing.. Argh I've got no idea...

  14. Maybe consider adding something to the lockscreen in the theme editor ? You can add a large battery gauge that show's only when charging or individual battery cell voltage(s)...
  15. I use dual coils, although don't think of dual coils as battery drainers tho! The larger the coil generally the more power you need to apply to ramp it up... You want to find a happy medium with the mass of your coils regardless if your running dual or single. If your purchasing coils online you obviously don't have as many options.. I encourage you to look into building your own coils so you can tailor the experience to your use. My mod runs off two 20700's so battery life isn't really a issue or a priority, so I have the freedom to build slightly larger coils that require more power.. In saying that tho, I generally don't because I don't necessarily like a hot vape. However in my mech mods that run off a single 18650 I build very low mass coils to ensure I don't hammer the battery life. I guess what I'm trying to say is a perfect build doesn't exist.. you need to figure out what works for you.
  16. Try some stainless steel fused claptons! Temp control with some nice coils is bliss. I was using 0.11 fused claptons, 26awg stainless 316L with 38awg nichrome wrap to start off with, however I much prefer my second build: 0.25 fused claptons, board doesn't need to work as hard - bit more battery friendly. 28awg stainless 316L with 40awg kanthal wrap. 3.0mm ID for both builds.
  17. Thank you for the detailed response.. I've used 14 gauge silicone wire to the 510 so 30 amps shouldn't be a problem at all. I have raised the max output power to 100W, although I've notice the new power limit is only available in the preheat wattage setting not via the coil power setting.. Is this the intended behavior ?
  18. Generally people max out their wattage ... I started at a low temp (200 degrees) and worked my way up to find a sweet spot. I generally sit around 240-260 degrees celsius with my wattage set to 70W's, if the chip doesn't need the full 70W's it simply wont use it.. The idea here is you set the temp to taste. The board will adjust the wattage automatically to reach the temp as it needs.. Here's a example: Maybe you want a slowwwwww ramp up time for whatever reason.. you set your temp to say 240 degress and your wattage to 25W... the chip will only use 25W's and attempt to reach 240 degrees, when it reaches 240 degrees it will stop and use what ever wattage to maintain that temp say 17W's
  19. Does chrome OS support virtual machines ? Rather then using wine, I would highly recommend just creating a window's virtual machine. In the past my experience with wine has been shit (years ago - may not be true).. Regardless tho a virtual machine will blow it out of the water in terms of compatibility.   21. I've been keeping an eye out for RGB led switches, I think that would be your best bet and just piggy back off the onboard LED. Would allow the RGB switch to be configurable via escribe also. Only problem is RGB momentary switches are a dime in a dozen.. haven't found many sizes beside a 16mm. EDIT: If anyone has a DNA250C could you take some close up photo's of the LED ?

I was just taking a look at the DNA75C spec sheet and noticed the continuous current rating is 30A... if I configure and raise the board power limit in escribe to say 100W's for example - as long as I stay under 30A limit (I'm running parallel 20700's - well within the battery limits) is there any risk frying the board trying to reach this wattage ? Theoretically the board could generate >75W's.. My current coil I have installed in my RDA is 0.12, if I raise the wattage up to 100W's I would be generating 28.86A's... Is there any additional protection to prevent the board from frying if I ever changed coils and/or resistance changes? Or is the 75W restriction considered the protection ? I think slightly more power would be handy for replay mode when ever that drops.. looking forward to hearing other's thoughts.

  24. I had a look around escribe and cant seem to find any way to configure the date format.. would be great if we can configure it or even just have a option for DD/MM/YY.
