  1. Hi

One of my 250c's, got a white screen yesterday, just out of the blue.

I tried to rewrite the firmware , didn't work. I tried disconnecting & reconnecting the battery, didn't work. I tried rewriting the theme, didn't work.

I tried a Hard Reboot & the screen came back :)  But It did it 2 more times today :(  The Hard reboot still worked  :)

How ever it is getting annoying now to have to do a Hard Reboot to get my screen back.

Is this a  known issue?  Can I do some thing to Stop This from happening?

BTW the Chip still works Fine, when this happens, just a White Screen

Sounds like getting some to help with (or just doing) some custom design work isn’t as difficult or expensive as I thought. I have been wanting to buy, build or get built a DNA75 (or perhaps now a 75C) Single 26650 Tube Mod but have had no luck finding anything remotely like it. I was looking at trying to buy an existing SS  VV or VW MOD which already had cutouts of a similar size but even finding one of those has been difficult. There was one released a couple of years ago (Can’t remember it’s name or the maker, some Chinese mob I’d never heard of I think) but I can’t find anyone who still has one...perhaps I’d be better looking at getting one designed &  “Printed”?

    Hey Bud

If you are looking for a kit to build a 75c? Here a pretty good deal, you can get every thing you need in one kit :) http://analogboxmods.ca/Box-Mod-Kits/DNA75-Kit

You have several options, I build an ABM1 with a FD 510, a ABM battery sled & external chip mount. It's a nice small sized box that fits a 21700 battery.

Here's a few pics of mine :) Thats a Hana Mod DNA200 beside it for scale :)

You can Email Them with Questions before you order, if you need Help  Dan even has some nice YT videos to Help along the way :)

So I'm looking for about an 1800 mah 3s smaller than 68mmx35mmx28mm, what should I buy that would be less than $55 for 3 of them and of better quality? If I'm not looking at the right brands point me in the right direction if you can please... Someone else pointed me to Maxamps, I'm definitely open to suggestions =)

24.99 :) Only 20c But should be plenty for what we are doing

or cheaper if I didn't insist on Maxamps lipos)

Why do you insist on "MaxAmp"? They are the most expensive Lipo on the market! We are building vape mods, Not Flying $1000.00 Drones.

IMO there are a lot of  Less expensive options that would Work Fine here.  Just Saying

  5. You shouldn't be afraid to try, soldering is the only real skill you need. You can practise soldering on scraps before you do it on the board :)

The mod in the pic has a relatively small battery, If your looking for some major battery life, a bigger Lipo would be a better choice.

The first 2 I posted have 4S 1500mAH Lipos :) I can vape 2  full tanks plus, on a single charge, with the Supreme + (10 mil per fill) :) Now thats an ADV :)

  6. I to had one  Supreme Plus running fine with the Gauges Theme :)

It was just some strange occurrence, with a combination of the 250c the Plus & the Gauges theme.

BTW This how I run my Plus's.   It's a single fused Titanium wire Clapton  2 By 26 wrapped in 30 gauge :)

I'm not at all convinced that the theme had anything to do with your issues..

We have been saying that all long!

It's not the Mad Modder's issue for sure! Mine mods are home made.

I had one mod perfectly fine with the same setup, running the Gauges Theme.

No one is pointing any fingers any were! The OP's issue is resolved & every things fine now :)

I'm not saying/thinking the Theme was the cause? Just posting my experience :)

    Hi Mr Timbit

I think I made my self clear, Not blaming your Theme at all! Just pointing out what Had happened to me :)

I appreciate the work you put in to the Theme's you post & Give you a Big Thanks for your Work :)

  9. So, I'v seen this happen on one of my 250c's with a Plus on top also. I'm running 2 exact same setups 250c 1500mAH lipo, Evolv 510's, with  Supreme Plus's, on single SS430 Claptons.

Only one of the 2 would give the "Throttling" every once & a while, not very frequent.   It was very random & would only happen for a small amount of time, then go back to normal.

I to have used the Supreme Plus's in TC for ever now & have never had connectivity issues ever!

I was only getting this with a certain "Theme" "Gauges" on only one of 2 exact setups. I have since changed themes & have yet to see the "Throttling" message since?

The frequency of it was so little, that  I didn't bother posting. Heck I had forgot all about it till I seen this thread.

Are you using the "Gauges" Theme?

I'm not saying/thinking the Theme was the cause? Just posting my experience :)

  10. I'm with the OP on this one!

I liked the old way when you could light up the charging screen to what ever % you wanted.

At a quick glance you could see all the Cells charging & at what voltage they were at.

With my mods I can see the flashing Red or solid Green light, just got used to & like the old way better :)

  11. Nice to see better quality 510's than the old FD & VT.

I'm partial to the Source, I know it's a cheaper knock off of the Evolv 510 But for the $ it's pretty nice :)

To the OP, If your looking for a single 2x700 "C Chip" enclosure thats not as big as a house! Check out this one!

    http://analogboxmods.ca/ABM-1-CNC-Aluminium-Enclosure

I know battery life is not that great with a single cell on the 75c.

But If 16 amps is good for you the 20700 Sanyo "B" is over 4000 mah :)

oh yeah, thank you steamer861 for the link to the screws, I'll pick up some of those when I reprint.  Did you pre drill prior, if so what size?  Did you tap it or just have the screw create it's own threads?

I like your idea of the toothpick, if the double sided tape doesn't resolve it I'll try that before I shave anything off the fire button, thank you so much for the reply and the help =)

I didn't have to drill, the holes are all ready there. Mine were just full of plastic dust. I cleaned them out with a 1/16" drill bit :)

I just screwed them in, they form there own threads. I wouldn't go torquing them to hard, but mine worked nice with out stripping or any thing :)

  13. Hi  I'm having an issue saving themes or opening saved themes. I'm running International version E-Scribe for Mac Ver 2.0 SP13  I'm getting "Error Fail to save Theme" With 75c & 250c

If I try to load a saved theme the file is greyed out & I cant choose it.

It works fine on my Windows machine.

Any one else experience this?  Any way to fix it?

    Thanks

Basically I need to trim down some of the bottom 3 buttons, when I tighten the board all the way down one or more of the bottom buttons are constantly pressed, pretty sure I can just sand/trim them down just a bit.  Right now I just loosened the bottom screw on the board and if when I pull the USB it pulls the board too tight I just hit one of the 3 buttons and it pushes the board back a bit and it's all good. Like I say, some minor adjustments and they should be fine.

The Fire button, however (see picture), the top of it is in the mod further than the bottom, so it sits at kind of an angle.  Whey I push the top for the back it sits out perfectly, just after the first press there is no pressure at the top of the button and it just sits a little cocked. I may be able to fix that with some double-sided spongy tape between the top of the button and the board, it's a pretty minor thing and is more aesthetics and feel than functionality.

I had some self taping screws meant for plastic that I got with the last shapeways DNS 250 I made, they worked fine for the screwing the board down... the two pieces of the case, however, I didn't have as much luck with.

The link provided was for Machine screws, and didn't have a thread count or length, so I wasn't sure what to get, and with Machine Screws you have to thread them, and I don't have a tap and die set for plastic or in the thread counts that were listed on the machine screws.

It would have been nice if the link took me to a screw I could order that I knew would work, but the link takes you to a page where you have to decide thread counts, lengths, etc before you could order anything and I just felt more comfortable going to a hardware store and finding something I knew was long enough and would hopefully work.

I decided to go with some 1 1/4" #4-40 wood screws, I knew the head would be a little big on them, but they should work (and I could grind the heads to a slightly smaller shape and everything would fit).  In my anxiousness to get it together I tried one of the screws in one of the bottom holes and it went in fine, so I put on in the top and due to the extra material and me not taking the time to pre-drill all holes to appropriate diameters, I broke a screw in one of the top holes.  Tried drilling it out and broke the drill bit in it.  So yeah, some issues with screws, and now I need to at least reprint the back at some point.  Maybe we could collaborate on a modified design that will still work with the 1300 MaH MaxAmps whenever it gets here =)

All in all though, very, very happy.  Everything I've mentioned I can either fix or I caused myself (there may be something you could do with the fire button).

I may have the first DNA 250C in Kansas City and that is priceless.

I can't thank you enough for how quickly you got it up, modified to my requests, with only minor modifications needed - Frogmod you rule!

I had similar fitment issues with my buttons, Instead of sanding down the 3 bottom buttons I simply put a tiny spacer between the board & the case.

The fire button was much harder to fix :(  I left one alone & it works, could look better but, Hey.

I did fix one fire button, I sanded down the whole back side to get it sit flush but I ended up removing so much material, it was able to slide right thru the case :(

I fixed it with a tooth pick & some epoxy. It does sit nice now but it was a hassle :(

I used these case screws I got from Amazon :)  There a bit long but can be cut easy https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B1OD4ZQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had some tiny self tapping screws for plastic to secure the board :)

    BTW here's a pic of mine :)

  15. I hope you don't mind if I get in on your thread?

These are my first  250C builds :)

    I used  3D printed enclosures  from SW, evolv 510's & 4S 1500 mAH Lumenier  Lipo's

I didn't take any pics of the build but here they are :)

There 1" thick  2 & 1/4" wide  & 4" tall  in the middle there is a Silo 950 for size comparison.

There a Bit Big & Heavy But thats a good thing if your running 30mm atty's with Clapton Coils :)
