You are fighting refinement. The cold resistance between your first post and 2nd post are pretty far apart. Always mate a cold atomizer with a cold Mod. It is even better if you set the mod down for about 20 minutes afterwards(after the new coil prompt).
Wait for refinement before settling on a temperature to vape at. Don't set your temperature at 455° then try to force your mod to vape at that temperature. With the tank you have and the power you have it set at, I probably would have it set between 480 and 520.
The DNA won't remember the cold resistance when removing the battery unless you have the resistance locked in. Replace the batteries one at a time so you don't loose power to the board. -
If you go to Evolv's web page (not the forums) and download Escribe, no matter what device you choose, you'll get 1.2 SP3
So wouldn't be safe to say that 1.2SP3 is now the recommend software? -
To go back to 02-23-2016, you need to remove the "Watts" material off of the device. You can go into the materials tab and remove it manually or you can do a Restore Defaults.
Don't mess with sp2, it has a problem with Vaporshark's 2 amp charging.
-
The cold resistance is different on all three devices. Try manually locking in 0.273 on all devices. If that fixes it, you can just make an adjustment to the mod resistance.
-
If using the Reuleaux in a 2 cell configuration, then it's no problem. It is safe to switch a married set from parallel to series.
-
Current displayed on the screen is the output current to the atomizer not from the battery. 65w and 17 amps comes out to about 0.225?, sounds about right if you are using a SS coil.
The dna will read the resistance down to three decimal places. The screen only displays down to two decimal places. So if the last digit is near a 5, it wouldn't be to uncommon to see the last digit rock back and forth due to rounding off the last digit. Normally the resistance should go down after refinement.
I wouldn't lock the resistance. Just set it down for about 20 minutes with the usb unplugged, then reset the temperature.
Atomizer Analyzer is under the mod tab. It may be hidden. Options> User Interface> Manufacturer -
Looks like some of them left with the dna 200 silk screening also.

Not temp limiting because you can't heat water past 212° F.
You can increase the power to a point that the water doesn't keep the coil cool, but then you will see the temp keep rising until it hits your limit. So yes, it is effectively running in power mode, but look at the temp it is running at.
I just wanted to show that the Temco wire with the Evolv profile was pretty accurate. If I had a nice straight line at lets say 260F, then you would know that either the cold resistance was wrong or the tfr curve was wrong. -
Technically you could, but I wouldn't recommend it. The battery fit is very snug and not the easiest to remove. Over time I would worry about damaging the battery wires.

Yes,
The setting is in the theme tab, at the bottom under "Look And Feel" -
If you like a warmer vape, why not just turn up the temperature, why mess with the TCR? I'm just trying to get a better understanding of why guys want their device to read a lower coil temperature than what it actually is.

Yeah if you don't mind turning it up to 480F
Nothing wrong with vaping at 480F . 100% VG has a boiling point of 554°F
I vape a kayfun5 with 50/50 at 410F
I vape a aromamizer with max VG at 520F.
PG/VG ratio, air flow and wicking have a lot to do with the coil temperatures. -

OK maybe I'll give that a try. The one I have now is actually really good at 450F. I take it I can open it and save the profiles as .ecig files and load them onto my device when ever I want. I haven't tried any of the others that came with the Theriion and really the only other wire TC that I use is Ti. I will give it a try. I know when I first opened it it had 4 profiles and this is the latest software for the 75 v1.0.52 or 54 I think. I heard the newest profiles were pretty good but not sure if that is in this version or the beta 1.2SP3
v1.2 SP3 won't do anything for how a dna75 vapes with SS316. The changes in firmware only apply to the DNA200.
1.2 SP3 is still worth getting for some of the changes they made in Device Monitor. -

Both but I am new to DNA's I've used SX's since they first came out and I'm used to that vape. This profile is a little better but still not like an SX with TCR set to .00092 at 420F. I don't have the Escribe setting for SS316 I have the Lost Vapes setting and it is way too low. I've heard the Escribe settings are better but this Therion had 7 or 8 Presets and they are set to SE which I found out that their profiles for SS304 430 316L and NI200 are all the same which makes no sense. I'd like to try the generic Escribe one but not sure how to get that.
Evolv and steam-engine use a tcr of approximately 0.00087-0.00088 for ss316. it can't be calculated exactly because they are curves and not linear. There is an option in escribe to create your own graph based on tcr.
You should try creating your own wire profile with a tcr of 0.00092 if you want the DNA to mimic your SX. -
TCR/TFR is the same for single wire, dual coils, parallel, clapton and Gargoyle Hooves as long as you're using all of the same material.

v 1.0.42 is for a dna200 only
v1.0.56 is the official version for a DNA75 (it also works with the DNA200) This version doesn't come with the latest firmware. You need to download the updated firmware separately.
v1.2SP3 is the official version for the DNA250 & DNA60 (it also works with the 200 & 75) It also contains the newest firmware for all the boards.
Hopefully Evolv will make V1.2 official version for everything and Kill all the other links because they are confusing the hell out of the new users. -

*** 2016-08-08 EScribe 1.2 SP3 ***
Will work with all Evolv boards and will contain the latest firmware files for all the different DNA boards.
Everything else on that page is for a DNA200 -
I realize it can't be added now with a firmware update. I was really referring to to design phase of the board.
-
The DNA200 has a balance charging chip on board. The input current information was coming from this chip. Since the Dna75 doesn't have balance charging, this info is missing. Im sure Evolv could've added this feature to the 75, but they were aiming for a budget board with escribe to compete with all the newer 18650 devices on the market.

True, but it would be a nicer user experience to bring the current value up. It maybe a very small issue within the big scheme of things, but Evolv want this product to be as user friendly as practicable.
Bug does not just mean an error.
I think they should just do some renaming.
The menu item should read "Create TFR graph from TCR value"
The dialog box should be titled "Enter new TCR value"
Evolv then should change the default value of 0.006 to 0.000 or just leave it blank. -
I think I found my charging problem with SP3
If I plug in the 2 amp usb with the cell voltages above 4 volts each, then it wont charge just like SP2
If the cell voltages are below 4v, then it will charge normally at 2 amps. -

I updated my VS with 1.2 sp3 and it seems to work fine with my mod.
I'm still in the testing with sp3.
Sometimes it will charge at the full 2 amps, sometimes it exhibits the same behavior as SP2.
As of right now, i'm the only one to report problems with SP3 and the VS. So it could be an isolated incident. -
Still having charging problem with SP3.
It is a little better than before. I actually saw it charge at 2 amps a couple times.
Using a smaller gauge usb cable to limit amps, I can get it charge at 1.4 amps. Switch back to the Anker cable and che charging exhibits the same behavior as SP2.

The 0.200 resistance would have been outside of the vaping range if it was the same coil.
The TFR for SS316 @800° is 1.332
0.14 X 1.332 = 0.18648
Because your new coil resistance was higher than 0.18648, The DNA assumed it was a new coil.
