shariiiiif14 Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 The pod used is an anti-burn pod designed for the oxva xlim pro 2. The previous pod worked excellently. However, this pod, which is from the same pack, did not work as an anti-burn pod. I have updated the device's program to 130.1INT.
ardentBarbarian Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 (edited) I've found if the wattage is too high and the airflow is too low, the coil overheats and says, "fill pod" despite there being enough liquid. All fill pod means is the coil got too hot because a) too high wattage and not enough airflow or b) there really isn't enough liquid, causing the coil to run too hot. You can experiment with the wattage and airflow until the message stops popping up. Edited March 21 by ardentBarbarian 1
Wayneo Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Under the 'safety' tab in escribe, you can adjust that 'fill pod' sensitivity or even turn it off. BUT IT IS WORKING (high watts, low airflow) as you've found out, caused by the wicking not able to keep up. 2
ardentBarbarian Posted March 22 Report Posted March 22 I think the message shown when the coil overheats could be a bit more generic like "Antiburn protection". A lot of people see fill pod and only look at how much e liquid is in the tank and don't realize that it might only be about their wattage airflow setup. Some clear info provided by Oxva in the box the device comes in as to the reasons why "fill pod" may be displayed would be very helpful. 1

What you described was purposely putting it in a high stakes scenario where your purposely way outside of pod specs and what it was designed to operate at. If you close the airflow on any pod system with anti-burn and set the wattage Way high, there is a limit to what technology can fix on the fly for you. I don't even believe you got a bad pod, I believe you're essentially testing the limits of these pods and it's not going so well for you. Precisely why we don't recommend doing that. As for the messages you're getting for error; This is the great thing about DNA boards they have a tool called escribe, and if you're knowledgeable enough, within a scribe and then again within theme designer you can change the circumstances in which a message will pop up saying whatever you'd like it to say. Now of course that's a highly advanced change for a user to make but completely doable. I'm not recommending you do it in fact I'm recommending you stop trying to find the limit of the pod and just enjoy the device and I'm sure anti-burn will work just fine but if you insist, I have provided you with a solution that fits your wants.
ardentBarbarian Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 For a lay person who didn't develop this device and for whom its meaning isn't always obvious (like when the pod is already full), the message "fill pod" isn't very self-explanatory and there is no documentation to shed light on how it actually works under the hood. I wrote this moreso for other people like myself who didn't get it at first. Oxva created a video that shows how it works quite nicely in the Oxva Xlim pro 2 dna.
RicketyPumpkin Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Honestly they aren't very comparable in the direct sense, as oxva has a design language, as does Evolv; That really becomes apparent when you go hands on with The One. It's the type of device that any "Lay" person could intuitively figure out with literally a few presses of the two buttons. There are pop up prompts or hints as to what it thinks you're trying to do, and will help. For instance, Replay activation is double pressing the lower button. If you press and hold or even just press it once, but not that second time, you'll see a little arrow pointing to the button and saying "×2" telling you that you need to hit it twice to activate then you get visual confirmation via a nice bright green sequence on the LED bar. Every other setting is acceptable by double pressing the fire or upper button opening the scrolling menu system. Also, since this was fully made by our guys, there's no broken wording or double meaning mess that came with the oxva. It's also vastly more intentful with it's warning and error screens. It won't just tell at you to "Fill Pod" and when it eventually does remind you that you should probably refill, in my case, it's always been correct. I have yet to catch a single unwarranted message since release. Nothing to worry about, anyone regardless of knowledge or know how, will be able to easily use this device even without documentation. Also, I'm sure documentation will accompany the US release of it. It's kind of the magic of this whole premise...the device does all the decision making based off your settings. It's very much a set and forget pod & absolutely nothing goes wrong because the device won't allow it to go wrong. It catches problems before the issue is even perceived by us so I recommend keeping the comparison to the other model to a minimum. Let it release domestically and see what happens.
RicketyPumpkin Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago In short, this scenario you explained should never occur in the first place on The One. It give no fill pod msgs unless the pod is legitimately in need of filling.
