billylangen Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 (edited) Hi everyone, nice to meet you. I feel like there's something strange about my device. - First, “fill pod,” but that was all resolved after a firmware update. - Second, the ohms on the cartridge have changed. The cartridge I'm using is an antiburn 0.8 ohm, but the device detects 1.2 ohms, and another thing is, when viewed on Escribe, the detected ohms are 0.5xx. With the cartridge now showing 1.2 ohms, the power output isn't optimal, and there's stuttering when inhaling. How can I resolve this issue? FYI, the current firmware version is V130.1, and the Escribe version is 2.0 SP7.1.1. Thanks, friends. Edited January 13 by billylangen add more information about ohm

Under the escribe 'safety' tab are options to lower or even turn off 'fill pod' warnings. 5 hours ago, billylangen said: - Second, the ohms on the cartridge have changed. There are ranges of resistance for what the coil Ω's displays as. Yours is now in the 1.2Ω range by 2 hundredths of an ohm. Your 'wrong ohms' issue is harder to explain but could be due to your coil raising its resistance due to getting crusty/carmelized from use and/or dirty contacts. Those factors or others, have raised the resistance to be in the 1.2Ω coil range My simple explanation - https://forum.evolvapor.com/topic/76108-oxva-xlim-pro-2-dna-resistance-issues/#findComment-945868 More detailed explanation (same post) - https://forum.evolvapor.com/topic/76108-oxva-xlim-pro-2-dna-resistance-issues/#findComment-945933 2
billylangen Posted January 28 Author Report Posted January 28 Hi Wayneo, Thanks for the explanation, I get your point. However, my current cartridge is only at around 600 puffs. Is it normal for residue to build up that quickly? It feels a bit random to me. Sometimes a cartridge can last up to 2,000 puffs with stable resistance, but other times the resistance changes after just 800-ish puffs. Is the quality consistency of OXVA cartridges usually like this? Thanks again.
Wayneo Posted January 28 Report Posted January 28 7 hours ago, billylangen said: Is the quality consistency of OXVA cartridges usually like this? I have no clue about the OXVA quality control. What I can say is I consistently get more than double your 2,000 puffs on the 0.6 pods, and my wife gets more than double what I get on the 0.8 pods. No sweetener DIY ejuice.
Mawa000 Posted Thursday at 08:42 AM Report Posted Thursday at 08:42 AM I'm having exactly the same issue with a 0.8‑ohm POD, which the device reads as 1.2. In Escribe, under the Mod tab, the minimum and maximum resistance values appear, which the mod uses to determine what coil is installed. The problem is that these values are greyed out and I can’t modify them, only the “Fill Pod Min Power (with pressure, Replay)” field is editable. Is there any way to unlock the maximum resistance value so I can increase it slightly and make the mod correctly detect the POD?
Wayneo Posted Thursday at 11:07 AM Report Posted Thursday at 11:07 AM Start escribe, go to 'About'. Click the logo 7 times and it will flash/disappear. Those fields will now be unlocked. I do NOT suggest you start editing those fields, and you're on your own. 1

Esos campos ahora estarán desbloqueados. NO te recomiendo que empieces a editar esos campos, y que estarás por tu cuenta. Ok, thank you very much. I’ll back everything up and try to keep the changes as specific and minimal as possible. In my opinion it’s tuned too tightly — we’re talking about a brand‑new POD with 40 or 50 puffs. I understand that resistance increases with use, but this feels excessively conservative.
Mawa000 Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM Report Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM It’s strange — I’ve followed the steps, the window closes after several clicks, but the fields are still not editable…🤷♂️

James Posted Friday at 06:59 AM Report Posted Friday at 06:59 AM Are you using the Oxva Edition or standard EScribe? As I recall, Evolv's version of EScribe (which can still talk to the Oxva) gives access to many more of the options.

Si no recuerdo mal, la versión de Evolv de EScribe (que aún puede comunicarse con Oxva) da acceso a muchas más opciones. I’m using the OXVA edition because I wasn’t sure whether the standard one would be compatible (otherwise why would they make a specific version 😅) I’ll check if that might be what’s happening…
