Hotcig DX200 with 18650 adapter showing battery as fully empty

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, one of my Hotcig DX200's that I want to use with the official dual 18650 adapter is showing a set of married molicel P26A's as a completely empty battery on screen, but the screen works.

I am having an issue where none of my 5 DNA powered mods will not connect to Escribe so I can't really go into Escribe to see what is going on.

Any ideas what would make the mod show the battery as completely empty even when they are not?

At least 1 of the two batteries might be below ~2.8V.

The batteries are both at 4.2V, I have checked that. What makes it more confusing is I have both the Hotcig DX200 V1, but it arrived with a dead unbalanced Li-po that was under voltage and could not be saved, so they sent me an extra Li-Po and also the V2 of the DX200.

I have one setup to work with a 3S Li-Po, and one to work with dual 18650's, but I can not remember which is which.

Hope you have a voltage meter.

If they're both at 4.2V then you need to check and clean all the connections. Both the  XT30/60 and the balance cable connector ends starting at the battery side. IIRC pin 0 (-)&1(+) would be cell 1, pin 1 (-) @2 (+) would be cell 2. Each should show 4.2V

PIN 0, on the board is the tiny hole at the left when you're seeing the 2 inductors (or no visible buttons).

This diagram is for the 250, you would not have pin 4

The photo below the diagram actually shows a DNA200, face/buttons up

Unfortunately I don't have a voltage meter, but when I just tried the DX200 V2 it is working as it should.

It must be the V1 that is set up for a 3S Li-Po, as this is the one that was showing an empty battery but powering on. Would the mod expecting 11.1 volts nominal and only receiving 7.4V nominal cause the error of the empty battery symbol?

Unfortunately the Li-Po that connects to the mod has died and I can't get any of my mods to work with Escribe at the moment, I was going to change the V1 to run in dual 18650 mode too so I can use it.

I haven't been active in around 4 years on forums or keeping up with my mods due to mental health issues, so the Li-Po must have just died from being left for so long without use. I am now a lot better mentally and am getting back into using my mods in the collection- I have 45 mods, 12 are mechs but the rest regulated so have a lot of tanks and RDA's to build!

I am just glad one of my DNA200's is now working as it should.
