dabberbid
I have a vicious ant 75c, but the temperature and watts do not dynamically display when firing in temperature mode (nickel 200). How can I get them to dynamically display? Also, it doesn't seem to be able to re-check the coil ohms. Is there something I'm missing? I scroll to ohms and hit the select button, but nothing happens; there's no new screen with a re-check ohms option like there is for my Mirage. dabberbid
I'm willing to fiddle around in escribe, but only if I have some direction first.

dabberbid
Thank you for both of your responses dwcraig1! I see the ohm re-read now, thanks! For the dynamic temperature display when firing, exactly what do I need to change in the screen you provided above? I can't figure out what should be changed. Thanks again for your help! dwcraig1
Do you have this box checked/unchecked? If so uncheck or check it depending with what you want and upload settings.
dabberbid
Thanks. I'll try that later today. That will cause the mod to update the temperature while it's firing?
dwcraig1
this gets me this. With temperature dominant the large number will be temperature instead of watts.
dabberbid
Thanks. The size of the number isn't really the issue though. The issue is whether the temperature updates in real time when firing. Here's what the screen looks like now. The temperature remains fixed when firing. I'd like to set it up like my Mirage, which displays the actual temperature in real time during firing. Does unchecking "temperature-dominant" do that? dwcraig1
i have mistakenly been giving you advice for a non color board, my apologies. Wayne sent me this just now.
dabberbid
Won't that just update the watts?
dwcraig1
Honestly I don't know, I've been looking for that setting on my VA Spade in Theme Designer and can't find it. Perhaps Wayneo knows and will answer,

Wayneo
@dabberbid Find the field you want to keep being updated in your theme, and make sure that option is enabled
dabberbid
Thanks, I think we're getting somewhere, but I'm still not getting it. If you look in my post above, you'll see a photo my my mod's screen with Nickel 200 temperature control. Note that both watts and temperature are displayed on the mod screen. Below is pic of my Escribe Theme Designer screen for the mod. There is only one small screen icon on the right of the photo below listed as "Main Screen" and it doesn't appear to have anything to do with Nickel 200. Further, although the small screen icon on the right of the photo shows both watts and temperature, like the actual mod screen does, the large *working* screen on the left shows only watts. I can't even click on any temperature to change any settings, because there's no temperature to click on. Can you "please* help? I'm not getting anywhere by myself, and I'm having trouble even understanding what Escribe and Theme Designer are showing me. Where is the screen for Nickel 200 temperature control? How do I get to it? Once I find it, what do I do to keep the temperature updated? THANKS!
Wayneo
Theme creators can do whatever they want in their themes. On that Main Screen if you highlight that .47Ω field, you'll see what that represents, probably 'coil cold ohms' (measured). Because I see nothing else, you could add a new field (or change an existing field), with 'coil temp' and update while firing option. OR you could just copy over your Mirage theme to this mod. * Misc ... See all those squiggly horizontal lines through the 250 numerals in your pic? Those are all different fields, etc. depending on your profile or mode or conditions. That 'Nickel' is picked up from one of your Profiles (out of 8 in escribe 'general' tab as the material type, same as the watts, coil ohms, etc.
dabberbid
Thanks very much, I really appreciate it. I'll try clicking on one of those squiggly lines to see if the Nickel 200 screen comes up. Is that the right direction? Also, I tried copying my Mirage theme over last night, but it didn't work. Here's what I did. What part did I screw up? First, I loaded the Mirage settings. Second, I saved the settings by going to FILE and then SAVE AS. This saved a dot ECIG file. Then I disconnected the Mirage and connected the Vicious Ant. I then tried to load the dot ECIG file so I could save it on the Vicious Ant. But the dot ECIG files were greyed out when I tried to select the one for the Mirage. Did I not save the correct file? Of did I save it wrong somehow? I've heard there's issues with saving themes/profiles (not sure what the difference is) for Escribe; is that the problem? I'm not yet totally frustrated with Escribe, but I'm getting there. THANKS! In escribe 'general' tab (not theme designer), one 'profile' will show Nickel and .47 ohms, 25 watts and 420F. Those values are then used to display on your screen. Here's how to change your theme. Plug in Mirage. Go into theme designer, Save that Mirage theme. You'll get a .ecigtheme file. Disconnect and plug in VA mod. Go into theme designer, Save that VA theme. When theme designer 1st came up, you can save that VA wallpaper if you want to use it elsewhere. Now load theme (with VA still plugged in) using Mirage file. Swap wallpaper if you want. Save theme. Now, looking in theme designer up near the top left 'apply' theme.
dabberbid
THANK YOU! I'll try that after work and report back. Really appreciate it!
dabberbid
I was able to clone my Mirage to the Vicious Ant; thank you Wayneo! Now I just need to figure out how to change the wallpaper (only) back to the Vicious Ant paper... But that's less important to me than the dynamic temperature. Thanks again. Wayneo
When you 1st start Theme Designer you're shown 3 wallpapers. If you click 'none' it deletes what's there. If you saved the VA wallpaper, just go find it, and hit load. Then apply. You're welcome. I'm the least nice of us mods. 🤣 Enjoy you mod 👋
