therion 166 batt problem

hey i use a therion 166 used it al day put it away for a minute and when i wanted to use it again it died

if i press the fire button it lights up but says ceck battery

i changed the batterys with two new ones still the same when i hooked it to escribe it says cell 1 is only 1.4v and cell2 is 4.5 what could be the problem took it apart buth i saw nothing wrong
