AMDtrucking
joevapes3@gmail.com, Good job! I noticed you are using THIS Chinese connector? I hate to be the one to bring you the bad new. I used this connector in my SXK Boxer clone (with DNA250C) too. It lasted for about a month and started leaking. I replaced O-Rings and bought me yet a couple of weeks, before it started leaking again. It turns out that this connector is the royal piece of you know what. I ended up replacing it with my trusty English MM510 connector. No more leaks. Also, the battery contacts, of SXK Boxer, are made out of nickel plated carbon steel and loose contact with batteries every once in a while. I cleaned them, brushed them, bent them out and still, every once in a wile, the unit refused to power up. I got tired of it and replaced them with gold plated beryllium copper contacts, that I pulled from KeyStone battery holder. So far - so good. I suggest you do the same. AMDtrucking
Another dual battery DNA250C squonker from China, called VapeCige VTX200. This one started leaking like a sieve after one week. Because they used very primitive 510 connector. In this one, I had to use an Italian silver plated connector ModDog, I just had to machine it to fit and drill two holes. I also made a stainless steel offset elbow. You could tell by how matte the finish looks, because it is 3-D printed. I just made and installed a stainless steel offset elbow adapter, just like the one in SXK Boxer clone, only not chromed brass, like they used. It is much better that way, no need to bend the hose (tube). I have an SXK Boxer clone too, that I replaced the board with DNA250C, it's working fine. And Vape Cige VTX250C, that was leaking like a sieve. This time, I replaced the leaky connector with Italian ModDog silver plated connector, that I machined and drilled to fit, also made an offset elbow as well. What can I say? I like my offset elbows. 😀 how many ml is that lost vape squonk bottle inside the vtx250c? i've been looking for a 10ml one that will go in my rebel dual 21700 squonker but haven't had much luck.

So mostly finished the design for my prototype DNA 250c squonk mod. There are a few things that need to be worked out on the final prints still, but for now I believe that I have a working prototype. I am going to assemble it this afternoon. I ordered a MM 510 v6 and it has the same neck that you showed me with the threads that will work on the SXK neck. The delrin washer finally broke on me with it so that device is out of commission until the new 510 gets here in the mail. I've looked everywhere to try, and find some type of elbow adapter like the one that SXK made for their boxer style mod. However there is nobody who even carries anything remotely similar. So I guess for now as you can see it will have to be pulled back the way the VTC device is stock. I did manage to make an insert tray with its own dedicated drain on it so that it can push the squonk bottle up against the back and separate it from the chipset. 1

But I suppose, if you make it worth my while... Just keep in mind, in order to be able to install my "Offset Elbow Adapter", you will need to cut a piece of stainless still tube, from the end of your connector and cut threads M3.0 -0.5mm. For my friend, I also made a new "Back Nut", out of Stainless Steel, because the Delrin one, was too weak. So Fasttech has been out of the 510 you recommended to replace the SXK mod with. I finally broke the delrin nut on it and need to find one that works. I got the mod maker v6 but it's too thin since it's a low profile. Instead of waiting I just decided to finish my design of my own DNA 250c squonk mod that I had been putting off completing. But I would still like to repair the SXK mod. Also the sxk chip I took out of the mod I swapped the DNA 250c into screen went out completely and unfortunately as close as the DNA 250c screen is, it does not work for the sxk chipset. I guess my next thing is to see if sxk will send me another screen. I'd be better off just buying another mod if they want to charge me for one since the mod is still only like $38. Anyways let me know if you know of any other 510 connectors I can cut to the threads like the one you recommended. I appreciate how helpful you have been. Below is a picture of the protoype 3d printed mod I made.
AMDtrucking
joevapes3@, cool mod, I can see right through it. 1) For the connector: I use MM510, I just don't remember which version though. I think THIS ONE. That Chinese connector, that I used first, started to leak in a couple of weeks. 2) Displays are identical, the one DNA250C and SXK chip. I swapped them out several times, they work. Here is my photo of SXK chip and DNA250C display working together. Since I just went back and plugged my spare DNA 250c screen into the chip and said to myself that it still didn't work. Then I remembered that the screen I was plugging into it was a bad screen. That's great to know it does work now so I can just order an extra screen and build up another 3d printed mod. I got one already to go for the SXK chip too. The only reason I doubted that it worked was the connector was a tiny bit smaller to my eyes and the way the ribbons wiring was a bit different from each other. I guess That's great the chip isn't wasted anymore. The 510 you had shown me was this one This one which is actually the latest MM510 V7 which is only available in the wholesale markets. It is the perfect thickness for the existing hole for the 510 on the boxer mod and the thread size for the elbow. I am gonna just wait it out i guess until the V7 get's released in mod diy stores if none of the emails I sent out to the wholesale vendors come back. I am when I reprint the new mod I just shared on here with you I am gonna print the 510 hole to fit the low pro MM510 V6 that I bought. Since I can cut that one at the threads and use the elbow piece from the SXK mod on it. I am curious how you make your elbow adapters? I am wanting to make a few parts that are similar including that elbow piece for myself and knowing how the process works and what machine you used would be really helpful. AMDtrucking
joevapes3@, right. That Chinese connector, in the link above, I advice strongly against. It's more convenient, because it is threaded M10 and it fits perfectly, but it leaks. At least mine does. As far as the length of MM510, that I used, it was perfect. Only diameter of it is 12mm and I had to ream the hole wider, as well as the place where the nut rests, because M12 nut is bigger. How do I make those "Elbow Adapters"? The old faction way, using my lathe and mill. 😀 It consists of two parts, press fit, one into the other. Turned in four jaw chuck. On this one, I went fancy and milled a wire soldering tab. It doesn't look like much, but believe me, it is a lot of work. Made out of 304 Stainless Steel. This one here, it looks like both pieces are welded together. They are not. They are still press fit. But I thought it would look better if I soldered them together to make them smoother looking. Edited February 11, 2019 by AMDtrucking
