hazeyall77
hey guys i am trying to use usb recovery charging with my vtbox with no joy its just not doin anything when on device monitor my battery is reading 1.6ish volts on each cell and will not move from this no matter what i do.when using usb recovery charging do you just click it once and leave the mod then or do you have to keep clicking on usb recovery charge every couple of minutes thanks
VapingBad
I have not used it but would think click it and leave it, it has to get all the cells over 2 V so they can charge normally and this is normally done at low current. I may not be exactly 2 V, just from memory it could be 2.5 V for example, just so they are high enough for a normal charger.
Popeye
Can i ask why youre doing a recovery? There was a spate with these a while ago, the balance plug wasnt in properly meaning the chip couldnt read the battery properly
hazeyall77
Hi guys well i sent the mod back to vendor to have the battery replaced. I recieved it back yesterday with a full battery, vaped away until the battery gauge was reading empty. I then plugged into escribe to check battery stats and it was reading 11.1v on the pack and 3.7 on each cell so left it to charge. Watt hrs was increasing as it should so went to sleep for a few hours. Woke up to find my mod screen showing 14.4 watt hours and a full battery gauge, i then unplugged the mod and went back to sleep. This morning i awoke and clicked the fire button on the mod to find the battery gauge had depleted back down to 23% which shocked me so plugged back into escribe and checked and sure enough the battery was now showing 10.9v on the pack and 3.6v on each cell. I then set the charge screen to show pack voltage. Plugged it into a 1a wall charger and watch on and off for about an hour. The watt hours was increasing as normal, the battery gauge was rising as normal but the pack voltage was dropping to now be at 10.5v. I have now stopped charging until i can work out what the hell is going on. As anyone seen this happen surely it shouldnt be discharging while its supposed to be charging
Popeye
Have you tried updating the firmware?

hazeyall77
Have checked defo have updated firmware and charging is definatly draining battery i habe checked with multimeter and now voltage has gone from 10.9 volts to 7.8 volts cant figure out why it would be discharging tho
Popeye
At 7.8v i wouldnt even risk trying to charge it. At 2.6v per cell there is pretty much no doubt that the cells will have some damage. Your vendor needs to replace the mod.
hazeyall77
Update this is strange I leave the mod charging for 5 minutes and the screen is showing 5.8volts but if I remove from mod and let it rest for 5 minutes its showing 7.8volts on the multimeter so in fact although the mod is showing a discharge the bsttery is not discharging in reality. What goes on I'm stumped in this one lol. I'm gonna do a test I'm gonna leave it on charge for 1 hour and then put it on the multimeter and see if it still at 7.8 volts
hazeyall77
Update. Ran the test charged for 1 hour DNA screen showing voltage dropped and settled at 5 volts take out battery and put on multimeter and guess what the battery still reading 7.8 volts I don't know where I stand with this mod already had battery replaced by vendor now what
