  1. I agree that in temp control the screen should have temp instead of watts as the primary screen and easy to adjust without having to hit the fire button 5 times routine. Like Phil, I leave my whatts set at 200 and let the chip do its work. All my tweaking is with temp control and sometimes a preheat adjustment.
  2. Ditto: Since the DNA 200 I have retired everything else.
  3. It took me 6 cycles to get my battery to fully charge. The #2 cell would only get to 4.1v and would discharge faster. On each new charge it would increase and finally is now getting a full 4.2 on each cell. With this now full battery on a dual coil 26g Ni, .06 ohms at 460F and 60 watts I am getting around 300 puffs which is less than a normal day for me. Preheat set at 100w midrange. I take very long 6 to 7 second direct lung draws. Not great but I can live with it. My Mamu boss with a 2200 mAh lasts all day and still has a 25% reserve.
  4. @Laguz75: The stabilizer you posted is 24v to 12 volt with an input voltage of 18 to 30v, you would need a second battery. The one I posted had an input of 8 to 40v. I ordered one of the 24v for my boat that has a 24v system. Thanks.
  5. I have a 30 amp 12v stabilizing regulator on my truck. A friend who builds electronic regulators in his factory gave it to me a few years ago. The price is prohibitive as it is made for precise medical equipment. 30 amps is not the top limit for the dna200 but I will never go over 30amps in my truck. Something like this should work if available at higher amps. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-DC-DC-Stabilizer-I-P-8-40V-Regulate-to-12V-10A-120W-/271489963053
  6. Have you tried jump starting the low cell. If you do not know how, find a RCer to help you. Escribe has a program to jump start a bad cell but it did not work on two of mine. Still had to do it the old fashion way. Test the cells with a meter and see if you really have a low cell. Balancing chargers will not start charging if one cell is below minimums. To jump start you have to hit that individual cell with a 3.7v charge for about 10 minutes to bring it up over minimum and then the balancing charger will recognize it.
  7. I have made many passthru/batt mods in the past with 12v stepdown chips. Always used a high amp toggle switch to select and isolate each source. Having to go and change the power setting thru escribe is a problem with this chip for a dual source mod. All my mods had high amp plugs for the 12 volt in source never the usb ports that were only used for charging the internal battery. I am planning on building just a straight thru dna200 mod for my truck without batteries.
  8. Easy peasy as Mamu says. http://www.shapeways.com/product/GU3TEKGEN/dna200-faceplate-with-screen-holder-and-buttons?li=shop-results&optionId=57274869
  9. Love the ability to monitor each cells charge.
