  1. Mod resistance 0.0045 Other numbers; 827.59 554.3 7.38 15.65 These are the numbers for my Hcigar, you need to run your own thermals but this should get you closer than what you're using. Try a different wire type ie: Ti, NiFe52, Ni, or if you really want SS, 430 has worked much better for me than 316l/317l.
  2. 0.022 is a bad number than originated a djlsb. I got ~0.004 as did several others. That would be a better guess until someone checks it. I got a very nice little copper 510 plug from one of the members here (name escapes me at the moment) made for the purpose.
  3. I didn't get any, was thinking about it, still may. The number you posted is all I found also. Was hoping steamengine would have it with the new materials they added... Was just reading about platinum wire on a jewelry making site, apparently you can work harden it if it's too soft. One method they use is spinning it with a drill motor and holding other end with pliers just like you would to straighten core wires for clapton (coaxial) wire. And my apologies to the OP, kind of off on a tangent here for a question about starting to build your own coils
  4. Unlike Ti, SS can also be pulsed. Had been using a toothbrush and it never occurred to me to use a brass brush, duh , thx for the tip. And I don't think I've ever worn out a coil, most hit the trash can to make way for something different long before there are any signs of metal erosion.

  6. My VT200 came in about the same. Would be interested if Efusion actually squeezed a 1300 into that box, looks small in the photos. Overall I'm satisfied with the Hcigar, but still kind of pissed that my decision to buy was predicated on a bald faced lie.
  7. On the website they say resistance numbers are coming. Seat of the pants impression is no noticeable difference from the Unkamen on the vape. Using DJaquiths curve for Titan wire Ti that I tweaked a bit, and like it enough to order more in heavier gauges.

  9. I got some Temco titanium in 28g. It is very clean, got zero residue from alcohol/paper towel scrub. It is also very soft. Almost like working with nickel as far as wicking goes. Their annealing process will probably be a plus for the heavier gauge wire. Other than that it seems like good stuff, and the price is very reasonable, $5.58 for 25'. The included in the price shipping to the midwest was 5 days.
  10. Oh yeah, I fully agree. All attys get the hot water/dish soap soak and toothbrush treatment before they get used. Domestic or foreign (especially those), authentic or clone . But this Ti wire was on another level, and I'm kinda low on elbow grease edit - looked at your post again and did a double take, $130 for an RTA? Squape R? Just got a couple Kayfun clones, 3.1 for $5.99 and Lite Plus V2 for $9.99. I'm thinking you need to touch base with DJaquith and go in on an order of that platinum wire
  11. The stuff I got was really dirty. Iso alcohol on a paper towel came out black on the first pass. The surface was rough to the touch. Took some scrubbing to get it clean, and I would prefer to not put that kind of exertion into a piece of wire . That's what prompted my communication with the owner.
  12. Will be interested to see how you like it. I emailed with the owner of Unkamen and he said his product will be shiny bright and clean as of his next wholesale order, so perhaps you got the new stuff.
  13. Have not personally had any issues with Ti. Temco looks like good stuff, and comparatively inexpensive. Have been using Ti from Lightning Vapes (bit pricey), and Unkamen (dirty). Their wires are a little springy, but certainly usable. I'll get some Temco wire, been making coaxial (clapton) wire with stainless steel core and Ti wrap, some 30-32g that is annealed would make that easier.
  14. Ah, ok. Broken coil. Had a mental image of a chemical fire and class D fire extinguishers...lol
  15. Could you describe the circumstances of these ignitions? That is a scenario that I would like to avoid replicating. Thanks
  16. Back and "fourth"? Drink much lace? I suspect you've been hitting the "fifth". And I'm trying to work out if "black lace" is a mode of dress for you, or just a voyeuristic preference. I won't address your nonsensical vitriol directly, as I've found that it tends to excite a troll and the mental picture of you jumping up and down in your black thigh highs and going "oh oh oh oh" is making me feel a bit nauseous. At any rate, I tire of, and am done with you. My only regret is that I can't find an "Ignore User" feature in this software...
  17. Funny, I don't remember addressing this inquiry to you black lace. If my way of stating things offends you, feel free to go read something else. And I'm getting tired of trying to decipher your mangled posts, can only assume that English is a second language for you. Normally I don't engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent, but your persistence warrants an exception. As for my shoulder chip, I give that to you for free, and also assume that you know where you can put it.
  18. Sorry for the reply delay, and thank you for the suggestions. I was accused of cutting and running in another thread and not being able to admit any mistakes, but I actually have other interests (gf might choose to differ as of late) outside vaping that consume some of my time. Started from scratch again - made some new SS/Ni clapton wire, put a new build on a Griffin RTA, and I'll be dipped it worked. Then I hooked up to Escribe and now all I get is a line in front of the "F" when I fire it. Atty analyzer says .136 and settles out the that number if I screw it on and off. Device manager says .133, and I get nothing on the screen when I fire it except the static lines for the various boxes that are checked. Guess it's time to reinstall Escribe, hope I don't lose everthing...
  19. "saying a board aint no good because a user has done somthing like clamped down a .40mm wire so tight with a deck screw with a sharp bured base, the coil end is now cut and squashed and become moor like .15mm then start messing with alsorts of csv files and settings because it wont run, start slating the board on the forum, when the problems been caused by their lack of basic skill, you can allways tell when someones got the problem fixed because they stop feeding the thread and they never admit what they did wrong." Perhaps you should read the thread, black lace, before you spout off and jump to Evolves defense. This is not my first rodeo, I have checked and rechecked everything and tried several different atomizers and wires. Be a fanboy all you want, but when you try to insult me, then I'm inclined to suggest that you attempt something physically impossible.
  20. But I think I'm chasing my tail here anyways. Just tried some NiFe52 and getting similar results. Nickel and titanium work fine with this mod/board. Gonna call it a day and use stainless steel on devices that work. Not inclined to get another dna200 at this point though...
  21. I'll try that TCR instead of the steamengine .csv. The .31 on atty analyzer was a cold coil, in the screen shot it is no longer cold.
  22. Blueridge, myself and others have covered the essentials. I'm starting to think that there is something else, perhaps in the firmware. It may come down to the basic structure and concept behind the 200 chip, something that cannot be tweaked or changed. It would be nice if someone from Evolve would respond and let us know one way or the other. Other boards appear to be doing what many can't get the dna200 to do, but as we don't have a chance to observe them via Escribe it's hard to tell. Thanks p.s. I deleted the edited post as the editing altered the jist of what I was trying to convey...
  23. I don't know if I'm having a brain fart here or what. Had SS 430 working fine the other day, now stick that same rta on the VT200 and got a bad burn hit. Dual coil 28g 2.5mm i.d. 6 wrap. Preheat 1,1,0. Atty analyzer sitting steady at .31ohm. Ran device monitor and it doesn't want to run above approx. 325 degrees. On a long puff to get it above 325 it burns the crap out of me. Help....
