Replay Not Working

Hi there, DNA newbie here with an issue. I got a San Aio DNA80C and can't keep replay consistently working to save my life. Of my time owning the device I'd say it's worked 30% of the time.

It'll say "Replay Ready," but after selecting it and attempting to fire it will say "Firing" for a split second followed by "Check Tank." It's driving me up a wall.

I saw another post say the solution was to essentially buy a flush nut to get a really secure connection. That, at least, made it read more consistently instead of jumping around by .05 - .13 ohms. I've tried cleaning the 510 throughly as well and have gotten nowhere. I currently don't have a computer to load up escribe. Since I can't SHOW any readings I was hoping someone could at least advise me on what to do next. I'm stumped.

That part is usually due to an ohm mismatch or an unstable coil. How are you getting your current coil ohms and how much is it different from the mod display usually? Without a computer, pull the battery for 5/10 minutes for a fresh read.

Nichrome will always be hit and miss. It is not a regular TC material. You need a long puff to get the 'ready' and it should be fine afterwards.

Also, go into settings, click those 3 dots up at the top and let me know the firmware on it.

Just saying, my Psyc (not in a San) with a fully threaded flushnut like you is within .01 or 2 from the external mod.

Its running Firmware 78.

As for readings, I've been going exclusively by what the mod displays. I have an estimate for what the coil should read as, and I've been working around that. The mod reads around .01-.03 variance with the flush nut.

Also, I've done short and long draws with "Replay Ready" showing each time. I'm gonna pull the battery now though and give it some time.

What's with this estimating? How can you prepare your coil properly, ensuring there are no hotspots, burning off oils and salts on your fingers, firing properly from the center out? At a minimum you need a coil tab/build station/ another mod. Something.

AIO's can be the most finicky for anything other than straight watts. Even at that SS is much easier to use in Replay and even that requires proper preparation.

Here's a video of Todd building the Psyc. He surprisingly misses after he builds the coil to put the cap and chimney on top to check for any shorts or stray wire.

When I say "estimate" its because the coil was intended to be part of a set, and was not measured as a single coil. I have a 510 adapter that I use to build on top of the mod, so I can always prefire, check for hot spots, and stuff like that before throwing it in the tank.

It consistently reads .34 on the adapter, but after being put in the mod it'll mostly read around .31.

I'll take the rba out later and check for shorts, and I'll give simple SS a try.
