Which coil material should I use: SS 316, SS 430 or Kanthal

Why can I set the temperature with a Stainless steel coil, and at what temperature should I set it using 40W for best smooth and cool vape?

• All will work on your mod in power/watts mode. SS316, SS430 for Replay

Why can I set the temperature with a Stainless steel coil

• Because the wire (material) changes its resistance when power is applied. Same as Ni, Ti, and others. These are your main TC or 'Replay' materials (wire)

Vaping at 40 W what would you recommend as reasonably temperature setting with SS316, I don’t want the vapor to be too hot!

In TC you need to talk temperature primarily. Watts (40 in your case) are only required to get your coil up to the temperature you want to vape at, or limit the watts supplied to the coil. Using a SS profile, and set for TC at 40 watts, you can monitor the temp attained and watts used for it. Cool or hot depends on you and your lungs. Maybe start at ~400F, and adjust temp either up or down.
