NKessler
Hello everyone!I've been using a my Lost Vape Halcyon for a good 7 months now as my only device and woke up yesterday morning to find it displaying a "TOO HOT" message every time I tried to fire it. It was cold to the touch (my normal room temperature is ~65 at night), so I decided to plug it in to EScribe and see what the temperature was reading. It normally had 70 as the room temperature and I had never seen the board temperature go above 110 even when vaping at 70 watts and charging the LiPo.Well, this time the room temperature was at 110 and the board temperature was at 212 despite the entire mod feeling quite cold to the touch.I've checked it a few times since then and the "TOO HOT" message still displays with both temperatures (room and board) being the same despite neither one being accurate.I've already filed a ticket with Evolv (I'm totally out of warranty with Lost Vape, so no luck there) to see if I can get any help directly, but I'd be happy to try anything you folks might recommend. I'm not an EScribe savant or anything, but I understand well enough what I'm doing to operate it reasonably. I'm also not super confident about removing the board from my Halcyon as it seems to be in a plastic enclosure that I had no luck prying out with some small force, but I'll certainly try it if someone can give my super basic instructions. Thanks a ton if you can help and thanks a ton if you can't! Any recommendation is definitely appreciated.
dwcraig1
Have you tried rebooting the device? Either by removing battery or through Escribe?
NKessler
Yes, I've disconnected the battery for 10 minutes (I don't know if its like some other electronics I own that have small internal batteries that keep them going for a little bit) and have forced a reboot through EScribe. I also updated the firmware (not sure of version offhand, but I know it was the newest release) and "Reset to Factory Defaults" before updating the firmware. It still says "TOO HOT" and the board is still reading at 212 and room at 110.Thank you for recommending things to do, though! I'm happy to try anything anyone can think of. Spector NS5 RD
halcyon is the sqounker no? my guess is there is juice on a portion of the board where one of the temp sensors is located and it's being shorted by the eliquid, causing a false reading. only way to check is to open up the device and check both sides of the board for any eliquid. if there is, clean it off. i would contact lost vape's warranty center, link is in my signature.
