I need help. I can't seem to get my lost vape Mirage to work well in Temp Control.

    I'm using ss430 .110 Ohm Fused Clapton dual coil, 45W @375F.

Problem: My experience is I can't get it to hit without tweaking with the resistance. When the coil gets cold I have to read the coil and fire it, once I get the resistance higher by rereading the resistance a few time I can get it to hit perfectly. Once the coil cools down.... I have to restart the process.

    Please help!

I think your settings are set quite low for that build. 375 is low for just about any build, I would start with 450 and go up from there, also set your wattage higher, the DNA board will only use what it needs to get to the set temperature. What about other parameters? Pre heat and temp dominant, etc?

That being said, I have never been able to get a good vape on SS430,I wish I could though as some people swear by it. My last attempt was on a drop RDA with dual core clapton's from AVS... It was working well, but I think I maybe damaged the wire somehow... If you are successful in getting a good setup, I'm def interested to know how

Thats great, do i need this for N80 core with SS outter?

I was wondering about that myself recently, as I'm going to start building some of my own Clapton's once my Daedalus Pro arrives!I can't say with any certainty that replay would identify as a temp sensing coil and offer to save the puff: esp since N80 isn't actually temp sensing wire. But adding the Replay PK profile and enabling the option for unlikely coils is easy enough to do, so regardless you should be able to use it with at least one of the the profiles.

I would imagine that with an N80 core and a SS outer wrap fused Clapton (I don't know how well staggered would work under the same conditions so would suggest fused for the crest results), that the mod(also deck dependant) would register the material as SS316 thus allowing for regular old replay... But I could be wrong... Let me know if you have any success!

    Hey,

Is it possible to Replay Something like this:

    Fused Clapton

    Dual core Kanthal

    Wrap SS

    Will this work, wont it?

I know that kanthal does work in replay with (the hidden setting) PK Mode enabled and the proper profile setup. Going to the upper toolbar in escribe->bring down the drop down menu labeled help->and click the section that says "About"->and then click the middle of the evolv logo between 10-12 times, until it disappears. Head over to your mod tab in escribe, the first section is safety. Under safety there is a swing to adjust the coils replay can use; normally this would contain 2 settings, allow only on temp sensing coils or allow on dubious coils. After following the above instructions a 3rd option appears, "allow on unlikely coils"change to this 3rd option->create a profile named "Replay PK” and user that to vape your Kanthal or other non temp sensing coils. I imagine this would work in multiple alloy coils as well. But I would stick to using Watts for best operation.

I imagine you could follow the same process for multiple using multiple temp sensing coils as well, SS AND TI OR NICKEL. Steam engines tool even allows us to create a TCR and (if memory serves) a tfr curve for multiple temp sensing wire types. You could possibly use these materials in Replay PK and change the chosen material type to your downloaded tfr/TCR and use temp control with multiple alloy builds

  4. I do wish we could adjust pre-heat time like on the 200 & 250 boards; but currently we cannot. As for this timer, how would you see it? And why would you need it when you can just adjust the max puff time?

I don't know theme designer well enough but, I feel it is feature that could easily be designed and added to the device. Perhaps not currently, as I said I don't know the capabilities of theme designer well enough to say either way. Though I don't know that pre-heat for 4 seconds would be great for your coil. What kind of material would you be building with? As of now you can almost do what you are asking, just without the stopwatch.

Thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for. For example, the SMOK Alien has a timer that displays while you are firing. E.g., if I like to wait 3 seconds to start inhaling, I can watch the timer count up to 3.0 seconds. If I know I only have a little material in my coil, and I want to stop firing after 8 seconds, I can keep an eye on the timer so I don't go too long.

So, I'm looking for the current puff time so far, not the duration of an already-completed puff.

Put escribe into manufacturer mode, and change the max puff time under the safety settings... There is one other place you have to change it too, then install a theme, like gauges, that allows you to control how long your mod fires before shutting off power.

    Hi Mr Timbit

I think I made my self clear, Not blaming your Theme at all! Just pointing out what Had happened to me :)

I appreciate the work you put in to the Theme's you post & Give you a Big Thanks for your Work :)

I'm not at all convinced that the theme had anything to do with your issues... As far as the issues with the mad modder 250c, there was another person around here who had to send his mod back because of some coating on the 510 connector... I've used and currently use Gauges theme, since before 1.5, and I have literally never seen that message nor have I experienced any issue similar to what your describing. The only time I've experienced the issues you describe were with my DNA 200&250 Triade's, and those issues were always either build or mod related. Something tells me though you have switched themes, this is hardly the end of your issues

  7. And from Mooch's battery test result post for the enook just some great battery advice:

    Always Remember
    - There is no 18650 that can have a factory/manufacturer rating over 30A.

    - There is no 3000mAh 18650 that can have a rating over 20A.

    - There is no 3100mAh-3500mAh 18650 that can have a rating over 10A.

    - There is no 18650 with a capacity rating over 3600mAh.

I guess the pair of Enook batteries I'm using also has a significant effect on the overall performance. I tried using a pair of LG HG2s with it but still the same results. As per your suggestion, I'll try exploring the Device Monitor feature in Escribe. Also looking to get my hands on a pair of VTC5As.

Where did you source your HG2's? You would be surprised how many local shops (at least in my area) sell re-wraps of those brown LG's... Every battery I currently own I bought from RTD vapor; they are a very reputable online battery reseller based out of Pennsylvania, great selection and better prices than your local vape shop, and most importantly guaranteed authentic batteries.

I own both a Triade DNA 200 & 250, and didn't feel like buying more batteries when I bought my Paranormal 250c, but already had all these married sets of three batteries. I chose break up some triplet HG2s and VTC5s; I run both over spec, with a 30amp pulse 25amp continuous (I'm in no way advocating this behavior) but get over a days worth of use out of both, but only after changing my theme and the settings I mentioned earlier. Out of the box settings though, I also noticed that my battery life was not going to last for a full day.

I can attest to the quality of the Sony VTC5A... Best battery on the market, and you won't damage the cells running them with a 30a pulse and 25a continuous discharge...2600mah should last you over a day with a bit of tweaking.

I'm currently using the latest firmware with, hg2s or VTC5s (not to be confused with 5A) at the specs I mentioned above, using the Gauges theme, on my Paranormal mounted with a Digi Flavor Themis running a dual SS316L stapled Clapton build coming in at .074 and powered by 91watts... Still getting over a full day out of a single set.

    So it is possible...

  9. You didn't change any other parameters in escribe? Are you using the stock theme that came on the Paranormal? The stock battery values it came with have a 35amp peak and a 30amp continuous discharge rate if I remember correctly... Which is way too high for any 18650 battery that I know of. Since your battery is 3200mah and not a well known brand, I would guess they have a max continuous discharge rate of 10-15amps. You will want to change the parameters to run close to spec for your batteries. Also turn on stealth mode. I have my Paranormal's screen turn off while I'm firing and changed the amount of idle time till the device locks from 60min to 10min.

Thanks for checking that out for us! Quick question. Does taking apart/reassembling the 510 help the protruding 510 issue at all? The fact that nothing sits flush on it drives me nuts!

I did the same after spilling a bit of juice. Impressed with build quality for being the lowest price option for a DNA 250c... And the best looking option IMHO. I haven't seen a single Paranormal unit where the 510 sits flush with the mod... It not a protruding 510 pin so much as a raised lip on the 510 connecter. I've had the device about a week and half and have already gotten over it. The Paranormal 250c is easily the best device I've owned or tried. I do want to try and make my own lipo 250c... But thus far I'm not seeing any chassis that I like. I'll give it time. I can live with the 510 connecter the way it is, the device is still handsome and functional as any unit I've owned

Yeah you are probably right, i am still learning as paranormal 250c is my first mod, the inner diameter is 3mm

That's what I guessed. With that many inner wraps it would yield anywhere from 1.1-1.13 ohms depending on the mod

Check out Vape Tool app for either Android or iOS. The free version will work for your current needs. The pro version is great. It's basically a simplified version of steam engine with some more in depth explanations of the parameters you are inputting for the calculator. I use it everytime I build, though steam engine is just as capable

If you mean replay you can turn it on and off on the mod, Evolv just didn't put it on their theme, here is the default 250C theme with replay as a check box so it doesn't hide temp and the ability to adjust preheat, boost and turn on replay for a profile (via atty screen), a few other minor things like no decimal places and step size of 1 for temp.

Thanks much! I noticed that your theme has revision 34 for the firmware...my Paranormal came with revision 33 and escribe hasn't prompted me to update the firmware. Is there an early release I'm missing?

    0.04 is standard i think.

DIY it, short the 510 out (google search how) set the internal res to 0.00, then use atty analyser, then input that data.

Where do I find that out @sykesy13? My coil is a SS Framed Staple Akien at 0.195Ω

You have to hook it up to escribe. My paranormal was .004

That’s a good point I haven’t cleaned my 510 on the paranormal, so I’ll try that when I get home. I haven’t touched any settings since I got it except for adjusting wattage of course. How do you turn on/off the temp sensing coils option directly from the mod? Went searching in the menu but couldn’t find an option for that under the replay profile. The crown 3 I’m not sure if the replay is working properly as I haven’t tried to vape till it dries yet but strangely I just tried my vaporesso in wattage profile and the ohms read very close to what the coils are spec’d at .16 ohms as it’s rated at .15 where the crown was almost .12 off.

You can't turn it on or off directly from the mod, it has to be hooked up to escribe. You may want to check your mod resistance in escribe or disassemble and clean your RTAs with rubbing alcohol. Check your mod resistance and case thermals. How does your 510 connector pin look? If it's not reading resistance correctly, that's most likely an issue with mod resistance. Stock value for mod resistance on my paranormal was .004;I would suggest really cleaning your RTAs deck and 510 pin then putting in a fresh build before messing with mod resistance though.

So, you have a gap when you screw down one of your tanks? That tells me that the 510 deck isn't deep enough to allow the tank to seat.
    Unless I misunderstood you.

I may have to revisit my Paranormal plans.

The gap is due to a raised lip around the 510 enclosure... So the 510 connecter doesn't sit flush with the top of the mod. But on the plus side, it also doesn't seem to be press fit into the mod. Given the other 250c mods I've seen, I'd say the paranormal is the best offering right now. I'm not a big fan of the boxer form factor, or the rebel for that matter. I prefer the form factor found on thinkvape finder but think the mod itself is a bit gawdy, also my friend has the finder dna250 so I've handled the device and am not crazy about the construction/durability for the price of their 250c mod. And the Mad Modder is ridiculously overpriced. I considered waiting for a reasonably priced 4s lipo to come out but was impatient. I'm glad I went with the paranormal. Lost vape has a great reputation and device feels really solid. I literally have no complaints. I was def worried buying the device so soon after it's release, but everything seems to be working as it should. If I could find one con it would have to be with battery life; then again, it's a dual battery mod and I run power hungry builds that are .09 or lower. But I also find that battery life seems to be worse on the stock replay profile, temp control profiles are a little more friendly and replay can be enabled on them as well.

Did you have to play around with any setting in the paranormal? I have this exact rta and mod, but replay is very erratic and hasn't been working for me. Any suggestions? BTW I double checked post screws and everything else I can think of, which didn't help anything.

Didn't even hook it up to escribe for the first day of use... Finally did tonight to get the adjust the battery settings to specs my vtc5's and HG2's could safely handle and to add a 316L profile as well as some custom tfr curves for 316L.i believe I read one of your earlier posts and if I remember correctly you ended up using a Crowne3 to get your replay working... Which I found surprising seeing as the stock Uwell coils (though some unknown SS alloy) never seem to work in temp control for anybody.... Is your 510 pin tight enough on your Themis? Have you tried cleaning the deck thoroughly?the only thing I did before attaching an atomizer was using a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol to to clean up some leftover residue from the factory from the 510 area of my Paranormal. Ran into a small issue after setting the mod to only recognize temp sensing coils for replay. But after turning that off everything was back to normal. What issue are you facing? The only time it kicked me out of replay mode was when my finger accidentally selected the cancel button after firing my mod. Are you using the stock replay profile? Have your changed anything in escribe? What's your mod resistance set to?

So, no problem with screwing your tank all the way into the 510? Read a few people who just got theirs saying that the 510 is short/has no depth.

Could be that they have early production run I hope.

No the 510 is better than my 2 Triades... Nice and springy and perfectly centered. Protrudes enough for any tank that I've seen, though I've only used my Themis, Zeus, and drop rda on the mod. The Zeus doesn't protrude as much as the other 2 but still the performance was great. Slight gap when I screw on my Themis but both builds I've used read perfectly.

  18. Just opened my Paranormal 250c :DDvaping my Themis rta with dual stapled Claptons SS316L @ .083 on replay and things seem to be working perfectly... Very nice vape off this thing. Was a bit worried after reading some other posts around here but thus far I'm delighted with my purchase :love:3rd Lost Vape mod... This thing feels really well made. Escribe allows you to set the device up not to use replay with non-temp controlled wire. Pretty stoked on this board though! Can't imagine how other chipsets will be able emulate the replay feature. Really enjoying this vaping experience!
