I noticed that as well.
I have come to terms with it and have not exchanged No-TC and TC coils or RDAs with such between the devices since then.
This is how I avoid this problem.

I generally only downgrade if nothing works anymore.
This issue is too minor for me to downgrade because of it.
I hope that your info to EScribe is successful and they will release a fixed update soon.

I found two kinds of possible resets in the Theme Designer

First: "Action" - "Geräteüberwachung" -> "Reset" (means "Action" - "Device-Control" -> "Reset" or some like similar in english)

This is the one, I have talked about and what seems to me is doing nothing when using this function.

The second is the "Action" - "Statistic-Reset"  - that works and sets visible the Statistic-Counter back to zero.

unfortunately I have no solution for this symptoms.
Meanwhile I use some of my Mods only with Non-TC-Wires and the others wit TC-Wires.

That avoids the TSD-Problem, you speak about.

A possible try would be to test the Reset-Device-Call, if that starts the recognition of the wire-kind (TSD or Not TCD) under regular using conditions.
I have that call integrated in my Theme, but have not tested it for this.
When using that call while developing my theme, I had not recogniced any changes in the GUI, so I had assumed, it is a useless function.

Will try this at weekend - in moment I am more busy that I would like under the working days unfortunately.

You are right, I saw this from my personal point of view.
There can certainly be reasons to download a large number of topics at the same time.
For me as a little perfectionist that doesn't normally make sense.
But everyone is different😉

Uh, I didn't know that - that only real members can comment on themes.
I thought anyone can leave comments and criticism.
Then I would prefer to give everyone the opportunity to leave a note about their experience with the themes.
Sure, there will be more work for the mods cleaning up the forum and deleting fake comments and other crap left behind.
But I totally agree - creating an account just to leave your comment is too much work for a normal user.
He'll be more than happy to find the download area at all.
Now, I don't wonder why there ar so fewer comments and critism than I would expect.

I have never downloaded one of my themes by myself, nor have I commissioned others to do so.
Only once - about 1 1/2 years ago, I had to download exactly one of my themes - after unfortunately one of my original files was gone lost.
I also never write reviews or comments for my own themes.
I only publish updates when I have made real changes to my themes (I always list the changes what are new made in the description).
With the updates, I even combine necessary and occurring description changes and additions.
All this so that nobody can say that I would push my own themes.
I am writing this here very clearly in case anyone suspects I am doing something dishonest.
Because something like that would certainly not be my way of life.
I am proud to be an honest person - and to remain so.

I am also a programmer, but not with Java and / or Html.
So I am not familiar with website construction and programming.

However, I don't understand why someone should download a theme and not install and test it on his mod.
When I download a theme, I spend at least half an hour on that theme before downloading another theme.
I look at the structure in the theme designer and install the theme on one of my mods.
Then I test the theme in operation to see how and if this is useful.
However, you are right - with several PCs in a LAN this can lead to unwanted restrictions.

I really miss the interaction between users and writers here.
Because in my opinion a theme can only grow from a certain point if suggestions and requests comes from the actual users, which the author can then implement accordingly.
I develop my themes as well as watch faces for Samsung Smartwatches in my spare time and don't want earn any money with selling them.
I do that for the reason that I write these programs primarily for myself and when they are finished so that others may enjoy them.
So I don't want to make it harder to handle than it is.
Therefore, I don't see any real point in using a foreign commentary system if Evolv already offers one.

But I also see the need to harden the download area.
Even where it doesn't really matter to me if and where my theme is listed.
But because of the fairness to the honest authors.

Unfortunately, there is no free switch less (there ar only 4 at all availiable in the software) for building chooseable displays for the battery-meters in my themes.

But if @Theme_A_Geddon wan't to get, I can build a special version for him that shows the battery-voltages as Gauges. Just drop me a note, if you wan't to get such a theme.

Different currents for the batteries, I have not found in the software. Just:

Voltage Battery 1
Voltage Battery 2
Voltage Battery 3
Voltage Battery 4

If there are more, please inform me about.
Than I can enlarge my themes for displaying them.

Hello my dear friends,

Since I received a message that I was named on this thread, I read this discussion.

I am still wondering the reason behind the download numbers scam since the day I was first notified of fake theme downloads.

In my opinion it makes absolutely no sense to manipulate the own download counters or those of someone else.

Just because some Honk was having fun to downloading my theme 300 times in one day, now I have to subtract these 300 downloads from my counter in order to get my honest download numbers.
Why do some people do that? This is completely devoid of logic and reason.

I am happy when some vapers use and like my theme - it is an endorsement for me that I have designed my theme in such a way that it is useful.
But these download numbers should represent the actual users (or at least the earlier testers) and not be science fiction numbers.
With that, the people who try to annoy us only damage the reputations of the serious authors of themes.

Perhaps a time limit would be worth considering - e.g. only allow one download per IP every 5 minutes.
Because after doing an download, the serious user must first install the downloaded theme onto his mod and then test the theme.
During this time, however, there is no need to download any other themes.
By this limitation, the download cheaters could only carry out a total of 12 download fakes per hour at all.

What I would like and wish however:
More critics, suggestions and ratings from users to improve my topic, as I no longer have own ideas for subsequent updates.
Therefore, I would not object to a mandatory rating after downloading and testing a theme.
However, I don't know whether and how this could be implemented.
Perhaps a solution could be to only allow further theme downloads after a rating for the last downloaded theme has been given.

yes, about this conflicts (and stack-overflows by this) we have talked the last few days here.😉
And so I dispensed in my theme now the using of "Goto Child Screen" and "Goto Parent"(what are using the Gosub Stack) but use only "Goto another Screen" (where no stack is involved) to avoid the error message "Menu Error - Press UP" coming up again.

thanks for your answer.

But that's the problem with using different languages. It's easy to talk past each other.

My question was, how the exit in the screen "New Coil?" works - not how to open this screen.

I don't open this screen manual by hand, for that I have an extra screen "Coil", what I open manually if needed.

But this question is solved meanwhile - I don't use "Goto Parent" or "Goto another Screen: Mainscreen" for leaving "New Coil?"-Screen anymore.
Now instead of them I use the functions "Yes, New Coil" and "No, Old Coil" to leave this screen manually.

So the Gusub-Stack is not involved in any case and can't produce a "Menu Error - Press Up" anymore.

Ist es bei Deinen Themes auch so, dass der DNA beim TC(EDIT KORREKTUR: Temp-Protect meine ich natürlich) an-/ausschalten eine Gedenkminute einlegt, wie ein oller Diesel?
Nur dieses Umschalten dauert bei mir ca. 5sec. bis die Anzeige entsprechend aktualisiert wird.
Alle anderen Schaltvorgänge gehen ratzfatz.

EDIT: Nein nein, ich steuere den "New Coil" nicht manuell an. Dafür habe ich den "Coil"-Screen mit fast denselben Inhalten.

Mir ging es eben nur um den Rücksprung nach dem automatischen Systemaufruf bei größerer Widerstandsveränderung.

Ich möchte annehmen, dass "No Old Coil" und "Abbrechen" exakt denselben Rücksprung veranlassen und der "Abbrechen" nur für die eingebaut wurde, die explizit nach einer "Verwerfen"-Funktion suchen und die Möglichkeit die "No Old Coil" dafür zu nutzen nicht überreissen.

Oben habe ich im "New Coil"-Screen ohnehin die üblichen  "Ja" und "Nein"-Schaltflächen.

Nur, um das Bild mit den anderen Screens stimmig zu halten will ich eben auch unten die Rücksprungtaste haben.
Prinzipiell stellen die "Yes, New Coil" und die "No Old Coil"-Funktionen m.E. ohnehin intern das übliche "OK" und "Cancel" dar.

Aber ich behalte es im Auge - wenn es mit der "No, Old Coil" Probleme gibt, verwende ich die "Abbrechen"-Funktion.

Ich denke, man darf diesem Screen halt weder mit "Goto another Screen" noch mit "Goto parent Screen" arbeiten.

Aber mir geht es eben darum, warum ich bei meinem Theme immer noch ab und an den "Menu Error" bekomme, obwohl ich zwischenzeitlich nur noch mit "Goto another Screen" und nicht mehr mit "Goto Child Screen" und "Goto parent Screen"  arbeite.

Und daher interessiert es mich, ob beim "New Coil"-Screen wirklich ein "Goto Parent" hingehört, oder nicht vielleicht doch ein "Goto another Screen: Mainwindow".

For me it is also not easy to understand the content of your messages by translating them with a converter.😉

I know, that "New Coil" is a System-Call. My question is how the system opens this screen - since this is important for the correct building of the "Return"-Button.
Either it must be declared as "Goto another Screen: Mainscreen" or "Goto parent screen". 
I think "Goto parent screen" is the correct order, but I am not sure about.

I have a very kind friend in this forum who test each version of my theme, searching bugs and other problems  and he also has given me a lot of valuable hints for improve this theme more. 
Also he has corrected the english language part of the manual.

My destination is to create a easy and very useful theme with a lot of informations for the users and containing functions that no other theme has build in.

If you like, you may test the latest version now.
I hope, it is as error-free now as the DNA-coding  allows.

But also in this thread you can see the complete oppositely meanings.
You prefer Symbols, and the user Gwyar declines symbols and prefers text-information instead.
You see, as programmer, you are never able to fulfill everybody wishes.
We'll see, how the users can handle my theme.

I need the possibility to let the user select write-protected symbols, since the status-text what describes the meaning of the symbol and it's is-state.

Uh, for me it is not really important if and how many times users are using my theme - but what is necessary to me, my themes have to be error-free.

P.S. A question I have: Do you know, how the system is calling and displaying the "New coil"-screen?
Is this by performing a "Goto child" (with needed "Goto Parent" in "New Coil"-Screen) - so Gosub-Return with using the child-stack?
Or is this a regular "Goto another Screen", where I need a "Goto another Screen" also in the "New Coil"-Screen - so Goto-Goto without using a stack?
This question, because I want to avoid each Stack-Problem.

thanks for your comment.

I afraid, you have misunderstood something in my theme.😉

Therefor I have published my theme with a short using-manual.

TSD and TSM only displays their status as information for the user to figuring out the reason, if his mod won't steam as expexted.

There is nothing to set or choose with TSD and TSM - only for displaying and recognizing problems.

As well as the PWR- and TC-"LED"s in the Coil-Screen. There you also can't choose one of these modes. It's just as information.

In my opinion, my theme is very useable. But sure, it is more complex than probably most others.

In Profile-Page, you can set same like in the Escribe-Profile screen but only that parameters, what are allowed with the settings, you have actual chosen (depending on of TC/Watt, Preheat Yes/No, Replay On/Off).

So no irritation about nonfunctional fields and values should come up.

Most difference to other themes: My theme contains two choose able Mainscreens - a "Mad Eye Moody"-Mainscreen with bigger chars but content fewer information (for users wearing glasses or not so good eyes) and an "Eagle Eye"-Mainscreen  with smaller chars but displaying more information (for users with good eyes).

My destination is - one Theme for all wishes. As example, the user may choose either a digital Battery-Display or a Bar-Graph for battery-state and may select other values, that he want to get displayed on the Mainscreen etc.

Surely I see this with programmers eyes. But I hope, it is not overloaded and easy in handling after a short time of using and getting knowledge about.

This theme already is shrunk in its functions. My first theme had more.😂

How you meant - Do I am really writing English as bad, that I need a home language speaking English translator?😯

Your Gauge-Picture probably has no transparent parts, where the Fill-Color can visible across.

 

There is no possibility to change Brightness less than 0 or more than Max.

 

1. The "New Coil"-Screen is automatic called by the system, if the real resistance is higher or lower than the stored.

So you have to build two screens with nearly same content.

One as "New Coil Screen" what you don't call by hand from another screen

And a second with "Special Use: NO" what you can open from other screens as long as you want

 

2. For this you have to put two fields onto same place.

Field :1

Make a condition "hidden" and a second condition "Control: Field - Compare: Atomizer - Power - Comparison: Greater or Equal to - Value: 30W"

Source: Coil Power

Options: Decimal Places: 0 - Step Size: 1

Field :1

Make a condition "hidden" and a second condition "Control: Field - Compare: Atomizer - Power - Comparison: less than - Value: 30W"

Source: Coil Power

Options: Decimal Places: 1 - Step Size: 1

By using hidden-Conditions, you can put both fields onto same place and in each field, you have another in-/decrasing of the content

Field 1 switches to hidden, if Coil Power < 30W

Field2 switches to hidden if Coil Power >= 30W

 

3. Use the "Statistic - Last Puff - Time" - that shows the Time of your last puff, as the name says.

 

This all is stuff, you can find out by try and error usually.😉
