Spector NS5 RD
If you go into EScribe and open Device Monitor, does the virtual fire button fire the mod (lower right section of DM screen, the little box next to "Puff") ? Does the button on the DNA board still have a tactile and audible "click"?

Spector NS5 RD
So if it it does fire through EScribe, then something must be going on with the fire button on the board. This is interesting. Did the mod ever work (fire) or is this a crib death? If this happened out of nowhere, I would assume the button has failed or the pull up resistor for it has been knocked off. How many puffs on the mod?
Clarke
This is a brand new chip never been fired by push of the button. 0 puffs on the mod. Twice through escribe. Chip only turns on while hooked up to the computer.
Spector NS5 RD
What mod is this? Is this a custom piece? Does this mod use the onboard fire button or external?
Clarke
This chip is being installed in a 1590n1 encloser mod uses a external fire button. But the install isn’t finished due to I don’t want to take it completely apart if it didn’t work.
Spector NS5 RD
My guess is this is an assembly error. Take a pair of tweezers and bridge the external fire button pinout of the DNA board where you have your fire button wires soldered. If the board responds, you can then re-check your soldering and wiring to the external switch. Some pics would be great! especially of the external button pinout, your soldering and your external button wire soldering. I have 2 of the same enclosure, using external fire buttons.
