Profile & Mode setting help for 0.3? CLP2 Clapton coil on DNA75 (Therion)

Recommended Posts

DNA75... I admit I'm rather new to sub-ohm vaping but other non-dna mods I have used sensed the coil immediately.

I want to use my SMOK Micro TFv4 tank with a 0.3? Micro CLP2 head on my new Therion DNA75.  So what should Profile & Mode settings be?  I want to control watts (have it show volts... not TC).  I have tried to find what material is used in the CLP2 coil but find no info.

I finally figured out how to change the mode on my actual mod (Therion DNA75).  But there is no mode when I cycle through the choices for Fused Clapton ... or even just Watts (Power).   Default choices via the device are Kanthal, 316, Nickel, or Titanium.

I see a Watts choice in the software app via PC but no Profile is already set up for Watts... or Clapton.

Oh, and what is difference between 316 & 316L?

Help, please?

No matter what profile or wire material is selected if your temperature setting is set to OFF, the device will fire at the wattage it is set to. The wire material only comes into play with Temperature Protection when a temperature is set. You can set the temperature to off by going one click past 600F so OFF is displayed.

From my understanding via a quick google search those coils are not meant for Temperature Protection.

As far as vaping wires are concerned there is no difference between 316 and 316L for temperature protection TCR purposes.

Ok.  Not sure how to change the Temp on the mod itself.  It has to be in a TC mode I'm guessing so temp could be adjusted...

But in the Profile default choices only Profile 1 (named Kanthal) is set to Temperature OFF.  Would be just fine to use Profile 1 then?

It's confusing to me because I have no idea if my coil is Kanthal or not.  I guess newbies like me need a default profile that is named WATTS or POWER and has temp set to off.  :P

Thanks for your help!!

To adjust temperature click the fire button 5 times to lock the device. Then hold the up/down buttons to enter into temperature adjustment mode. Adjust the temperature to the desired setting, then click the fire button to confirm. You can then unlock the device and use it.

To find out what the material of your coil is I would recommend referencing the website of your tank/coil manufacturer.

Looking at the CLP2 Clapton Coils they have a wattage spec listed, and no temperature spec so I would say they are meant to be used in Power/Wattage mode.

I think the best way for you to learn more about DNA and Escribe is to see some videos, read, try and keep around. You are in one of the best places to learn all about this great devices.
I will let you a few videos that may be useful:

These are from DNA 200 but the base is the same, so it is a great starting point:

This is episode III, and is not needed, but also adds some more DNA knowledge:

This one is also good, from DJLsbVapes:

About custom Materials:

So, as you see, it is not hard to get information on how it works, but it haves a learning curve :D

I do not know, maybe i am duplicating videos and information here? But if not, it would be useful to have info for people who are starting in this DNA thing to start...
