Send evolv an email asking for the part number of the zif socket and where to purchase it, then take it to an electronics repair shop in your area and see if they can replace it for you. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

yes the chances of an amateur being able to replace this on there own are very slim, I won't say impossible but realistically it almost may as well be, even for someone with a fair amount of soldering capability this is no easy task and the likelihood of ruining something on your first attempt is pretty high even with some experience and the correct equipment
