Just in case anyone finds themselves reading this on the same or related google journey, this should get the job done: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/mean-well/lrs-200-42/?qs=ah3jBNVE1PTuWW3yE9MLsQ%3D%3D&countrycode=US&currencycode=USD its just massive and actively cooled 👎 Your right, I'm sure batteries would decrease the footprint\cost of getting this power profile, my initial goal for this project is basically to eliminate the long term management of batteries... so, its impractical but that's my goal. Also definitely right about the cables... this is going to be the other main thing I'm going to try and design for best I can. Best case so far looks like something like this https://www.amazon.com/NOYITO-AC-DC-100-260V-Industrial/dp/B07C2MMKW3/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=12V%2Bpower%2Bsupply%2B8A&qid=1623609801&sr=8-11&th=1 combined with a little high efficiency voltage regulator chip my dad of all people is telling me he has some samples of and should get that 12v down to 4.2V at 30A. Its very small (2cmx2cm package on a pcb w/ pads to solder to) so I think I can get something resembling "one cable" with these solutions. Will definitely report back if successful. If you don't hear from me its probably just because the procrastination beast got me not because I electrocuted myself hopefully shipping on all this is gonna be a couple weeks Thanks again everybody for the input, answered multiple questions. Still wondering if anybody has any experience with what the most comfortable voltage to run the DNA75C hardware at if you had your pick of a constant supply? My guess is max in spec (4.2V) to minimize amperage on the wires but I'm sure I could be missing something. Was surprised to hear you think 3.3 should be fine, I've definitely experienced slow pickup as my batteries die but I'm guessing with a constant supply if the amps are there then its equivalent power *shrug
  2. ...hour of googling later ho boy... ok i think i get it, 4.2 volt 30 amp power supply is hard to come by... I think I might have an option, it puts out a set of voltage options: 3.3V, 5V, 9V... Data sheet on the DNA say min input is 3.0V, max 4.2V, the slider in Escribe goes up to 4.5V...... can't imagine I'd be getting much work done at 3.3, 5 seems a little high lol. Would a comfortable target for a constant power supply be around 80% capacity batteries, like 4V maybe? or right on the max charge battery at 4.2V? Any advice would be appreciated, going for a chill little desktop setup, freaking tired of batteries
  3. Heyo, What's up 5 year old thread, anybody ever try this? also feel like this should work... but it was pretty hard to find this puppy, would love to hear results.
