  1. I've just changed the screen on my Paranormal. The replacement screen has a longer connector and is a right pain in the butt! I managed to squeeze it down but I noticed the little white plastic tab that poked out kinda fell off the old screen where it pokes out next to the firing button. No idea what it does so ignored it when putting it back together. Screen looks nice and clear. Not sure about the firing button. Seems a little less sensitive to use now but I won't be tearing it down again just yet. Protip: Don't rub your screen with your thumb too much like I did. It turned into a black monster in the middle of the screen. ;) They should have put a plastic protective shield over the exposed screen like on my Dovpo!

Give the attached test firmware a try if you have the deep sleep wake-up issue. (Don't use it if you don't need it, of course.)

We haven't heard anything bad about this firmware so far, but let us know if you run into anything.

    DNA 250 Color v1_1_SP35_US_SleepTest3.sw-service

    DNA 250 Color v1_1_SP35_INT_SleepTest3.sw-service

Ths solves coming out of deep sleep as long as you have autolock disabled. You get a lock screen to press the fire button 5 times (well 4 after the initial press). However if you have autolock enabled you have to press the fire button twice to come out of deep sleep. It then takes you directly to the main screen (no need to press fire button repeatedly). It's a lot better but still not working as intended. I already reported this to Brandon last week but have yet to have a response.

  3. Connect to a different USB port and open Escribe. Choose 'Restore default settings'. Go to the Tools menu and choose 'Diagnostics', 'Reboot device' then 'Hard reboot. Also under the 'Options' menu make sure 'Automatically check for service packs' is ticked.

I feel its hopeless. I just received the 2nd firmware from brandon this morning and it still has the same issue. When locked and left to idle, its hard to wake. The first firmware almost fixed the issue but when locked and i tried to wake it up an error message pops up. I've used a lot of mods, different brands and models and this is the first time I've enountered this problem. What would you feel if you were in my place?

I'm not sure you should be discussing this openly. But in any case. You need to hard boot the mod and then reflash with the latest firmware. The press up error will then not show after the first flash (I am guessing you got that after the initial flash). Then hard reboot again. Coming out of deep sleep it requires 'two' key presses. I have already notified Brandon of this. Patience my friend. I am sure they are working hard on resolving it. The fact that I can wake it without much fuss at the moment is promising. I can live with a two button press to wake it if all else fails.

To anyone else reading this. Please do not ask for the beta firmware. It's being tested and we are in conversation with Evolv to try and resolve this. If a mod deems it neccessary to delete either of these posts feel free. But the cat is already out of the bag for those reading these posts ;)

My new board is now like the old board. I have to plug it into my computer or take out the batteries and put them back in to make it work. It's strange why it starts out great and then slowly gets worse. Don't know if that could be firmware or not.

Did you apply any themes or profiles from Escribe?

  6. None of those prevent deep sleep from waking the device once you press a button. It still does not come back to life without hitting the buttons many times. I will have to test it and only press a single button and see if it comes back to life. Maybe it is just taking ages to come out of deep sleep.

  7. Is there some way for the tank you used and settings to be stored in memory? Like if it detects kanthal or SS within a margin of error on resistance it automagically remembers it and the settings you last used for each tank of similar resistance?

Same with mine too, It's just the way the button is mounted.

Doesn't cause any issues and only really noticeable if you look for it.

Well I notice it while thumbing it. Not a big issue since I feel the top of it. Mine don't sit as proud as some I have seen in photos. The bottom tends to drop slightly inward if I rest my thumb on it. It's just a minor niggle really. As long as it fires consistently, does not fall in furth or worst of all break. Still. They should have QC'd to check the button sits proud all around.

  9. I knew the panels would be an issue after I had a Voopoo Too a few weeks back with the sliding battery doors so I ordered the Paranormal with the fixed resin panels (had to wait for it though). No wobbles here ;) The only issue is the firing button. Intersting to note it is the same for you. I have emailed Lost Vape for an opinion on it. As for TC I never use it and replay is now my life! :)

  10. Just got my Paranormal mod and although it fires fine and clicks (bit spongy though) the bottom of the button does not sit proud from the body and sinks to the lip of the hole it sits in. The top of the button sits slightly proud. Does anyone else have this issue and can it be easily fixed without returning it (got it from Fasttech so would a pain to return)?
