I want to start with you guys are top notch. I have had a pleasure with the customer service end of your products and can't say it enough about how great you guys have been with helping out your customers.
I originally had just the screen issue I thought and so I purchased one as a replacement because I was impatient only to have the one sent by evolv show up first. Then when that was all up and running I had issues where the up down and select buttons acted as if they were stuck fire buttons ( it would show firing on screen then shut off as if 5 rapid clicks). Sent in and I assume before even looking into it a replacement was sent.
That came last week and I was able to install last night but again I'm still having issues. After everything installed (same as it was before where I was able to get the chip on and running intermittently) I get almost nothing this time...
When I throw a cell in the mod there is nothing on the display. No flickers, no flashes, no white display. Clicking the fire button, or any button, doesn't seem to do anything at first but then I realized without the faceplate on the mod that I can see the small blue/green led under the fire button illuminates when the fire button is pressed. With an rda installed you get no heating of the coil.
I have installed escribe on my MacBook pro and I get the message that no compatible device is connected to usb. retry / cable etc. I have tried the other spare screens I have and none of them makes a difference. As i've now done this install about ten times I feel good about all solder joints but have to ask. I'm using two leads from the top of the board. Ground is running to the neg side of the 510 and out to the positive of the 510. From the positive contact of the battery I have a lead running to the bat + on the bottom of the pcb. I am not using the bat - in my setup and though I didn't see that specifically addressed in the pdf instructions I did read that the grounds and - are connected on the board so the ground lead to the - on the 510 should be fine, right? On the board I sent in i had wired the same and other than issues with the buttons everything worked from time to time and even fired.
I used no glue, no flux, no crazy heat, any idea what I am doing wrong here? Would the usb connection function without a battery in the loop normally? with or without I get no connectivity to escribe.
Anything to troubleshoot? I tried holding the fire and down buttons for 5 seconds for stealth mode but still nada and the usb still doesn't register as anything connected. Ruled out the cord as well, tried 3.
