Hello everyone. I've been lurking the forum for a few days and recently got a couple of boards to start redesigning our box. Here is my first post. I come across some challenges due to the 4 pin battery connector. Because the battery monitor connectors are at the bottom (And because I want to avoid hardwiring the cables to the board) all possible design routes force me to pull the battery away from the board a lot, making the box bigger in width, and this is only using the FullyMax 3S 11.1 900 mAh. So I played with an idea that entails repositioning the 4 pin battery connector to the top, somewhere behind the fire button. This option allows me to come really close between battery and board. I can also align the battery with the bottom of the battery connector (now repositioned at the top) which leaves me perfect clearance between 510 and battery connector, maximizing internal box volume and wiring. By repositioning the battery connector: a) I'm able to Maximize room inside the box. b) It leaves perfect clearance for a 510 connector and battery connector c) By coming really close to the board we have more options for bigger batteries without making the mod larger in width and height. d) you can position position the fire button higher. e) I seem to also maximize wiring. I don't know if this is even an option at this stage but I thought I'd share my thoughts. Thank you Brandon for the help and to everyone contributing with useful information. Gaston - Inxept.
