  1. Sent the device in that would not power on. Didn't have much hope since the vendor who sold it to me refused to rma or refund (avoid gearbest at all costs) after a few weeks of use. Evolve said send it in let is check it out. Today my hotcig arrived in fully working order. What a class act. So amazed at the great communication and service. Outstanding company. U have a loyal fan and customer folks! Well done. Thank you so much.
  2. Well I ordered the DX200 18650 battery add on for the hotcig dna thinkin maybe it was a battery issue. No luck, still dead. I am so dissapointed. Not at Evolv obviously, at HOTCig and Gearbest. What a rip, would not rma but offered to sell a replacement for half price. So I contacted Evolv today via email with fingers crossed and tail between my legs. Hopefully they can help. I did get brave and open the case, the fuse is solid green and appears to be fine. that was mentioned by a few others. Are there any other easy to check things I should check out? I tired hooking up to pc thinkin maybe screen was dead but mod was on, and no luck. It won't discover. Help, anyone please.
  3. Quick question. I think I saw that with a blown fuse you could connect to a USB and would often get a response on the led screen, is this correct? I did try connecting and firing with no luck. I also tried a cold boot with the device connected to see if it would be discovered and nothing. they offered to send a new mod if I pay half of the cost. I am tempted to do it even thought I feel like I am being taken advantage of. I don't blame the chip, I know its solid, I am leaning towards the mod itself or possibly the cheap batteries they use. I am hooked on this chip, being an IT guy the ability to program with my PC is just sick. I am so impressed with the quality of the code I just can't not use one LOL. I looked around for a possible replacement mod and was pretty surprised to not see many mainstream mod manufactures using the chip yet. Really shocked to be honest. This thing should be in every serious vapor hand imho.
  4. Thanks for the info. I will give it a shot and check the fuse. I am holding out on Gearbest a few more days and also have a PayPal dispute open. I am hopeful that if they rule in my favor I can get a replacement or refund. I don't want to break it open just yet in case I need to return the device in untouched condition. I really appreciate the info and help. Speaks volumes to the forum members here. I will post results as soon as I have a decision from PP and/or GearWorst (terrible support)
  5. I am in the same boat with my hotcig from gearbest. I have opened a paypal dispute over the purchase because there is a 45 day no question asked return policy. I tried to get the RMA and got the below offer. I am tempted to take them up on it but hate the idea of being ripped off. After checking your case we would like to solve your issue the best by offering you the following options: 1)Partial refund ( No return) We can offer a partial refund of 50% your product value which is $ 57on your wallet. This amount can be used for your future orders. 2)Resending a remplacement (No return) We can resend you a replacement but we kindly ask you share 45% cost of item and the shipping fee. The total cost will be $ 52 of the product cost + $ 5of shipping fee = $57 Could you please let me know your decision? We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your continued patience and kind understanding. Best Regards
  6. So I have a hotcig dna device and love it. I put on a kanthal dual coil the other day at .3 ohm. Fired great for a few times. Then suddenly everything went dark. No pop or magic smoke came out that I could see. Tried to return it to Gearbest and of course they are refusing to honor the 45 day unconditional warranty because they can. avoid gearbest if possible as a note. But I saw about a fuse and tried firing with the USB hooked up. No luck. Nothing. No screen lights and not detected by the PC. Any other ideas? Did I kill it somehow? I did not realize I could cause damage to the chip by firing at .3 ohm, still very doubtful the chip failed but have tried charging with a different charger and all that jazz. No luck. Any ideas?
  7. I tried it again and noticed I had not entered anything for the resistance. I added the info there from the current coil build and it seems to be working like a charm. Thanks for the response. Back on track.
  8. I am still getting up to speed with all the amazing options that come with the DNA 200. Like a lot of the other folks in the vape world I started with gen1 Kanger on a stick battery, mech, AVP, VW VV box, TC, and now the DNA200. I have a museum here. So where I am having issues is with building a Ti profile. I went to steam engine but I must be missing something. My settings come out too low when I upload them. I get a line that is almost straight across the screen after selecting Ti wire. Would it be possible to start a repository online where we could download other people's csv files? Sorry if this is an inapproprate question. I am not being lazy, just really struggling with TI and miss having that option for building. Kanthal is working insane great, I don't build with NI due to the difficulty and softness. Ti has been my fav with my IPV4 and VTC Evic. Any help would be much welcomed. Sorry to make my first post "hey, can ya help me".
