  1. I had the same problem with mine and I replaced the battery with a new battery(as suggested by Gear Best service). When I pushed the fire button all looked fine. Then I put it on e-scribe to finish charging the new battery And instead of charging it drained the new battery to a dangerously unbalanced state. I have since sent it to Evolv for evaluation and possibly repair. Good luck I know how frustrating it is to be in your situation.
  2. Good news today. Nick at Evolv told me that I could send my VT200 in and they would take a look at it for me. That is such great news I almost feel giddy. Thanks so much to Nick and everyone at Evolv.
  3. Yes, that answered my question. I'm a big fan of the preheat(boost) not so much of the temp control. I my look into a Provari Radius, it doesn't do temp control, but does offer an adjustable boost feature. Thanks for responding.
  4. Does the DNA 200 boost work when not using temp. control? I have looked but haven't found the answer, help is appreciated.
  5. I replaced the battery in my Hcigar VT200, but it didn't help. After replacing the battery I thought it was fixed. It would now come out of sleep and escribe recognized the mod. But, when I watched the charging, it soon starting discharging the battery. It eventually killed that battery as well.
  6. I just submitted a ticket with Evolv, I'll be interested to see what they say.
  7. I just tried to reboot my device, but it didn't work. It just resumed discharging my battery when I hooked up to Escribe. The cells are now seriously out of balance as well. The (1) cell is down to 1.8v and (2&3) cells are at 2.8v. I'm going to remove the battery and put it in a safe container, I think it my be getting dangerously unbalanced and undercharged. This sucks.
  8. I tested my batteries after removing them from the mod, to see if I was getting a wonky reading. But my multi meter confirmed the readings from E-scribe. I was really concerned that the battery would drain to the point that it became unstable. I wish that I could just return it for a refund. But that's not likely to happen because I bought it from Gearbest. They want me to make a Youtube video and post it so they can view it online before even discussing a store credit or return for repair. I've never made a video and the only video recorder I have is a Iphone. Oh, and they have quality requirements for the video as well. I will never buy from Gearbest again.
  9. I have a Hcigar VT200 with a problem and I'm out of ideas what to do. The problem has two aspects that my be connected. First, the mod will not wake from sleep mode unless I plug it into the USB charger. Second, While monitoring the charging, I see it appear to start charging. Then, when it gets around 6 wh charge the charge suddenly dropped to around 2 wh. From that point on the battery drains even when plugged into escribe, with no atomizer installed. The watt hours will get down .01 wh and the cell voltages get down to about 2.6v. I have replaced the original battery with a new battery and the same thing happened to it. When I first installed the new battery it appeared as if the problem had been solved. It woke from sleep without being plugged into the USB. Then I hooked up to Escribe to monitor the battery charging and the same thing happened. It now appears that the dna200 and e-scribe are killing my batteries. I have 7 DNA200 chips sitting on my desk that I bought to put into mods for myself and friends. But, at this point I'm not very confident about using them.
  10. I have just finished replacing the battery in my Hcigar VT200. My device would not wake from sleep unless I plugged it into a USB charger. The battery would not charge, infact while hooked up to Escribe the WH reading would decrease as I tried charging it. I contacted Gearbest and they wanted me to make youtube video so they could view the malfunction online. I've never made a youtube video and have no interest in starting now. So, f*ck them I thought. I replaced the battery myself with http://www.ebay.com/itm/361309525989 This battery does not require modding the box or battery. It seems to have fixed the problem.
  11. It's probably your battery. I had the same thing happen. After finding out that the warranty from Gearbest isn't worth anything. I put a new battery in myself. Son far it seems to have fixed the problem. This is the battery I used to replace the Hcigar battery with, http://www.ebay.com/itm/361309525989. It fits into the mod with out having to mod the device or the battery.(Note you will have to switch the installed plug from the Hcigar battery to the new battery) Update; I was wrong, it's not fixed. When I plugged into Escribe to monitor it charging the battery I watched it drain my battery down to 2.6v per cell. That happened while the USB was reading proper voltage and amps. That's 2 different batteries that have been drained by this mod. without an atty attached.
  12. I just put in a return request to Gearbest for a Hcigar VT200. The battery doesn't charge correctly according to e-scribe. I was going to replace the battery myself, but decided to do the return request instead. My as well find out what kind of company they are before doing more business with them.
  13. I have the same problem with my HCIGAR VT200. It only wakes when I plug it into a charger. Just making contact with the mini USB will wake it. I've never opened the box so I know that I haven't disturbed the connectors. This issue started immediately after charging it with a phone charger.
  14. I feel you. I've been using a Russian 91% on my HC VT200 and it is very finicky. A couple of times it has suddenly started acting up when I would fire it. Looking at the screen while firing, it would fire and come up to temp. setting then the watts would drop to zero then bounce around .2-.4 watts then stop firing. It turns out that it just wanted more juice, even though I could see some juice in the tank. Now, it won't come out of sleep mode unless I plug in the charging cord. But after plugging it in only for a second it starts working until sit it down and it goes back to sleep. The only thing I can think of is I unplugged it from E-scribe without first hitting the disconnect button. Good luck I wish I could have been more help, but I' only a novice as well.
  15. I just received a HC VT200 from *****. First thing I did was upgrade the software, before even putting an atty on. That seemed to work fine. So, I got out an new R91 and built a NI200 28ga coil. After I installed the atty on the VT200 I attempted to fire it, nothing happened. So, I fired again this time watching the screen on the VT200. What I noticed was the screen would flash [Short] on the screen then immediately continue trying to fire the atty. The Vt200 started heating up (the side where the board is) and seemed to continue getting hotter, even without continuing to fire it. I took the atty off the mod and the mod started cooling off. I'm wondering if this or something similar is what is causing some of the board failures we've seen. I know that the atty or my coil is the problem with mine. But, had I left the atty connected who knows what my have happened. It was getting hot very hot. I found the pos. post needed tightening. After tightening the post and installing a ,2 ohm Ni200 coil it is working fine in temp. control. No more overheating.
