  1. Well, I had though that the leads from the 510 to the board were going to be too short for me to do that, but it seems like theres enough slack to get it out. I've got the board and the screen separated now, so I suppose I'll order a new screen from Evolv and give it a shot. Thanks for inspiring me to take another look
  2. No updates on their FB page for quite awhile, no response from their service e-mail address. I have one of their DNA 200 models and the screen has pretty much stopped working (usually black, sometime glitches a bit and shows some info before turning off again). I'm suspecting its the screen cable getting pinched but I don't trust my (de)soldering skills to try and fix this damn thing. The mod still works fine, just no screen. Am I SOL here unless I buy a soldering kit and get to work?
  3. Thanks Brandon, that is exactly what I was looking for and actually makes a lot of sense in my case because I usually keep the wattage low on a newly built coil so I don't inhale flaming cotton, but I'll usually crank it right up when I put on a pre-built coil.
  4. Not really what I was asking. It seems like there is some sort of condition that triggers the DNA to realize that it can perform TC vs materials that it cannot (like Kanthal). What I'm trying to figure out is what that condition is. I rebuilt my coil again with 5 wraps of 26ga SS 316L. Resistance of approx .6ohm but again it doesn't sense that it can perform temp control with this material despite having the TCR values for SS 316L added to this profile. Edit: Now I'm even more confused. I unscrewed my atomizer multiple times on my original profile and never got it to register TC. I created a new profile, locked the ohms and uploaded the TCR values to that. After switching to that profile, now it registers TC on both my new profile and the original profile I was trying before
  5. Is there a maximum resistance needed for the DNA to view a coil as being a valid material for TC? I've been playing around with SS 316L and when I use a Triton coil (.4ohm) or a dual coil setup with 26ga (.36 ohm) it works great but I build a 1ohm single coil in a tank and its not registering with temp control, even with the profile setup with the proper TCR values. Is there any way to "force" a profile to always use TC regardless of resistance?
  6. Pre-production. Probably somebody else's refurb.
  7. Just got mine back yesterday. They replaced it with a whole new unit as far as I can tell. Took a little bit longer to get back to me then I would have liked (12 calendar days) but there were two weekends plus Labor day in there so I guess I'm not too upset about it. It was in their hands from Aug 28 to Sep 2.
  8. Looks like your mod gets to take a summer vacation to lovely Woodridge, IL. Mine is out for RMA now as well. They approved the RMA with no fuss, but still remains to be seen how long its going to take them to fix it. You could try submitting a ticket to the Evolv helpdesk; I know they were looking for mods that were dying in unusual ways and they'll replace it with their reference mod if you wanted to dump the Hana.
  9. Argh, seeing a screen glitch and backlight flicker on the screen when hitting the fire button. I guess we'll see what Hana is going to do about it.
