Have they said what's causing it?

No, they just fix them and give them back. My guess is the display ribbon cable. After taking one apart to get an idea of what's going on, the ribbon cable is tucked right behind the fire button. It works for a while but after getting tossed around for a few months it may be shifting positions causing them to cut out. Again, that's just an educated guess.
  2. I'm having pretty good luck with this setup so far:

    Single coil
    SS316L - 26 AWG
    9 wraps (spaced)
    2.38mm (or 3/32 drill bit)
    .5612 ohms (locked)
    Aromamizer RDTA
    Preheat: 100w, Punch: 1, Time: 1

first pull was at 40w, second pull at 200w

Update: Thought I would add another shot from today (2/17) at 200w with longer pulls. Vape quality is still exactly the same as 2 days ago when I slapped it together and my battery lasts all day now! Couldn't be happier.

  3. Welcome to my world. I have 3 devices myself but seems like only one works at a time lol. My 3rd one the screen just went out on me. Still works just can't see anything unless I plug into Escribe, so technically I have 1.5 working devices at the moment. Good luck to you sir.

  4. UPDATE 2

Well it was a sad day yesterday. Was vaping away on a new SS 316L dual coil build for a couple days then all of a sudden, nothing. Tried plugging in the device (both power and PC), nothing. None of the buttons responded so back to the shop it went today. On a good note I did pick up some supima cotton while I was their. Since I haven't tried it before thought I'd give it a shot. Fell in love instantly after breaking it in (has a cottony-funk taste for the first two juicings). Flavor is above all other wicks I've tried. Anyways, will update again shortly.

I appreciate the feedback! I know it runs a tad warm, but when I change the values it gets more unstable, but I'll tweak it probably this weekend and if I can get it better I'll post it here. Thanks again.

Reporting back after slapping together a dual coil build in my Twisted Messes rda. I must say, damn. Thank you for this. I wrapped 20g 316L around 2.4mm 8 times. Reading .08 ohms. Temp control is working nicely so far. Nice smooth climb to 450F (never going much past 350F surprisingly) and completely satisfied with the vape. Haven't done a dry burn test yet but hopefully will get around to it this weekend.

    Edit: Ohms locked at .08. 450F@50W, preheat=200W, punch=5,time=1s

Has anyone tried the values that I posted? Also if you dry burn, cotton burn test, what happens? While I edited my CSV file in Excel, here's a link to the actual file http://www.filedropper.com/dna200-ss316ldjaquithv7 Good luck and any feedback would be appreciated.

I'll try it out this weekend and report back. Picked up some 316L from a local craft store and wasn't too satisfied with the flavor or warmth of the vape. Thank you for this.
  7. UPDATE

Got a call yesterday afternoon that my device was ready for pick-up. Swung by there around 6pm and picked her up. They didn't say what was wrong with it since the employee giving it back to me doesn't fix them. He did mention they "updated" it for me (I'm assuming the board since I already had the latest firmware) and they installed fancy "#TUGLYFE" and "FLAWLESS" splash screens, a nice touch imo. Overall couldn't be happier with the customer service, was in and out no questions asked and had my device back and tug'n away in a week. Hope everyone else is as lucky as I was on getting theirs repaired.
  8. Hey everyone, new here. Been lurking for a while and now I have a problem with my Tugboat DNA200. I'd like to ask the community about this before taking it in to the shop tomorrow.

I went to go build a titanium coil for my subtank to try it out. Got the coil installed, went to test fire and that's when the screen shut off (I'm assuming it shorted). Now I can't get it to turn back on without plugging it into a power source. I can still access the device through Escribe and have also tried hard rebooting, nothing. When I install a RDA (known working kanthal/ti/ni200 builds) while plugged in to power and I hit the fire button the device reads "Check Atomizer." Running "Atomizer Analyzer" yields question marks, room temp reads fine. Not sure what's going on and thought I'd throw this out there.

    Thank you.

P.s. Love this device, it's been rock solid for me. Also running the latest firmware.
