Change from Day/Month/Year to Month/Day/Year

So I have a problem I can't seem to crack. I have a theme I absolutely love and it's almost perfect but the date format. It's Day/Month/Year and I want it Month/Day/Year. I have tried everything. I know my way around Escribe and Theme Designer. I even made it replay compatible and made it fit perfectly with the theme. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

open your theme in theme designer, go to the "language" tab, and in the locale section you should be able to select which you prefer. I believe if the field is empty it defaults to m/d/yy
