@NMEones I have no idea of the screw size needed to mount the board. It depends what you're mounting the to......plastic? metal? wood? I honestly never bought screws for mounting the board. I always had screws left over from other mods or various other projects. I just used what fit for the project, never measured them. In the PDF It lists the screw hole size and suggested screw size.; try there first. If you're still doubtful, open a help ticket or if someone happens to read this and they know for sure, maybe they can chime in.

Generally speaking the screw size, machine screw size, is 0-80.  For plastic or wood a size 0 with an appropriate length would work.

Thanks for responding guys... I really appreciate it.  Think I’m going with these

Silicone wire is so much nicer to work with. Most if not all regulated mods use silicone, so you're golden. Just make sure you have the correct gauge. Each board has it's own recommended wire sizes. Be sure to look at what gauge is recommended for your model. You can get that info from the PDF's available on the Evolv website. Each board has it's own PDF manual.

Hey man, I didn’t want to start a new thread for such a simple questions.... I feel like a complete noob asking these silly questions but I’m trying to triple check everything before starting to assemble... want everything to go off without a hitch for my first go at it!

I’m still working out the exact length I’ll need (putting the final parts of the design together today) but just ballparking for now, these screws are OK for the board yeah?

yeah i checked the pdf!  it actually mentioned PVC wire for one of the battery.. thats why i got a little hesitant and felt I should ask the pros over here!
my board comes tom. and im almost done designing my mod... once i get it printed, sanded, coated and then finally wired, Ill post some pics to show you guys....  hopefully i dont run into any more snags before then :)

Thanks so much for replying, Its greatly appreciated friend!

  4. building my first dna.. usually only dealt with mechs... I already have some 14awg and 24awg silicone wire.. wondering if the silicone is alright for the battery connection since it mentions PVC.  Like i said, i dont have much experience with building regulated mods, I figured Id ask here before I went and fried something :(

  5. quick update... unfortunately turning off the auto lock didnt help it as much as i first thought.... the issue happened twice since turning it off... with that being said, its still happening A LOT less frequently ever since i did turn it off.... IDK if you guys want to try and use this band aid tactic for now until evolv gets things sorted out.

    Hey NMEones,

Are you maybe using a theme? Removing mine and setting to defaults have sort of eliminated the problem, for now.

Yeah I’m actually using my own theme.  To be honest, it doesn’t bother me much since it rarely happens... I just want to get my experience with it on record so maybe it will help fix it in future updates that get pushed out

  7. The not waking up issue happened to me once again for the first time in over a week.  My batteries were under 50% (I only remember because it happened under an hr ago) but like I’ve said previously... it never NOT woke up after a few seconds (this time maybe 5ish seconds).  I’ve still yet to have the device not wake up and have to hook it up to a usb or remove the battery, etc...

    Hey guys,

Over the weekend I updated to Service Pack 33.2 because it was pushed by Escribe.

No real difference with the boot delay except that it seemed to be happening less frequently than it did before the Service Pack. Something else that I noticed is that on occasion when it boots for a split second, maybe even a nano second, as soon as the screen turns on half the screen will be covered in snow/static that you would see on old CRT TV sets. Its only happened about 3 times since this issue started.

Another point i'd like to make is that still, to this day since the problem started, the device would never not boot up, sometimes it takes longer than usual but it has never not booted and when it is on it works exactly as it should, no bugs or issues.

    Regards,

    Conrad

Yeah im in the same boat as you.  It always turns on just sometimes takes longer then normal.  It hasn’t happened to me in a couple of days, I can still count on my fingers the amount of times it happened...

hmmm that screen fuzz issue with the new service pack is weird... I didn’t update yet... keep us updated on anything else fishy that happens ;)

I have a similar problem with my Paranormal DNA 250C. After it went to sleep for a while it would not switch on the screen when a button is pressed. I pressed then some *wild* button combinations (because I thought the device went in some blocked mode) until the screen came back on and i could unlock the device with the normal 5x button press.  Happend sofar 3-4 times and I got the device now for a week.

I will try to find out if its just a time delay after the first button press or try some slight wiggling in the usb port to see if this helps...

I would be interestred to know if this is a firmware issue (i have still the original one) or a hardware issue (then i would send back my device for replacement)

    Thanks...

I’m assuming it has to do with the chip since it’s happening to multiple different devices....  it could possibly be fixed in a future firmware release...

this is just an assumption, I don’t have  any  insight from Evolv

  10. Yeap... and for me it really doesn’t happen often... probably only 6-7 times.  I’m not sure exactly how long I have my device (boxer squonk) but it has about 5k puffs on it.  So yeah, it’s not a common occurrence for me at all and my boxer squonk is my daily driver since I got it.

It would be really nice to know what the actual problem is though.  I’m not looking forward to the chip doing this on a more regular cake.  So far this is really the only issue I have with it.  Sometimes it’ll reset the date and time for no reason but that’s about it

Yeah, I think I get it.  Unfortunately, none of my tanks have an adjustable 510.  I did test the pin on the Finder itself and it seems to spring back up just fine.  I'll try Analyze Atomizer and see what that tells me.

When u take the battery door off is the 510 exposed?  Is there a way to tighten it from there? Again, forgive me... I’m not familiar with the device

Yep from deep sleep, when it first happened I did what everyone else did and plug a charger in but when it happened out side the gym I didn't have a charger so a folded bit of paper did the trick

Ok so maybe we’re having a different issue but the same visual symptoms to an extent.  When this happens to me it’s just a delayed wake up time (15ish seconds give or take) but it always turns back on.  Your saying that yours doesn’t turn on until you mess with the usb.

  15. I never did that or any resets...  I’m waiting to see what the actual issue is before I get all crazy trying different things.  It doesn’t happen all the time and it never NOT turned back on.... sometimes (it turns on fast more frequently then It doesn’t) it just takes 15ish seconds to turn on

    Hi Chunkybutt200!

Thank you for your response and input!

I don’t think it’s the battery connection, fire button or chip, as everything works as it should when it is booted up.

Last night I noticed when I changed to my oldest pair of batteries, it would not boot as soon as the batteries were in and took about 2 - 3 minutes before it turned on and it had retained the time.

I have been using my older mods batteries and they are about 6 months old and some older. I’m planning on getting a fresh set and will report if the problem persists. If it still carries on I will send it back to the vendor for replacement as something is faulty on the device.

I really just hope it’s that the batteries have reached their life time and that’s the problem.

    Kind regards,

    Conrad

This happens to me also sometimes and my batteries are brand new ijoy 20700.  Using them in the boxer Dna250c squonk.  I’ve heard of others having this same issue as well

No it doesn’t give the perfect puff. Actually it is quite the shocking hit when I go from 100 to 150 and not expecting it.  I am not with the mod at the moment but I will adjust temp. I am assuming you are talking about preheat temp. What confuses me is that one time it will jump over the set wattage the next time it will work as intended.

Once it hits the saved temp from replay it’ll throttle the wattage down.  And no not the preheat, it’s called Replay Warmth... it’s not an actually temp adjustment, just levels I guess you could call them... 1, 2,3, etc...   bring it down to 0 and then adjust up from there until you got it where you want it

Ok folks I just started using replay in replay mode. I am using SS core with Ni wraps. I set my wattage to 100w and find the perfect hit and save puff. On the next hit it jumps to 150+ Watts. So I cancel puff and take a few more hits till I same puff again. Then on the next hit it will hit around 60w then again around 50 and keeps going lower. It is an RDA so I understand that it is lowering to not burn the Cotten but I don’t understand why it would jump to over 100w after saving puff. Any advice?

I believe if you lower your Replay warmth setting it won’t jump up as high.  Don’t take my word for it, let a senior member verify.  I tried this the other day and did notice it didn’t jump as high though.

the reason it’s jumping over your saved wattage is to reach the temp the coil was at when you saved the puff.  When you drip more juice it’s essentially cooling down the coil.  Again, let a senior member clarify but this is what I’ve noticed on my Replay adventures so far!  But I do believe lowering the Replay warmth will stop it from jumping so high and it’ll get there more gradually
