1. Amen. SS is something to mess around with or at least SS316x .. long-term .. maybe you. Lower gauge with big coils, SS is okay. Just my opinion. Now I'm looking at SS430 and Pt wire.
I have 24 gauge, any suggestions
2. Settled on a dual vertical parallel (Stream Crave) atty. 2.5ID, 10 wraps @ .19ohms. 55 watts, 520 degrees Nice cool vape, good dense cloud. Satisfied with this build Used the V2 profile listed above. Ive noticed with SS you either need good spaced coils or REALLY good contact coils. Took me a minute to set it up but worth the hassle. This coming from a strictly TI user.
3. Rebuit another parallel, 5 wraps each @.12 ohms 55watts 420 temp So far, so good
4. I just built 2 spaced (6 wraps each) that ohm out around .14 Using the V3.5 and it workex great for 3 hit, then switched to watts mode
5. Scratch that last post, temp and watts jumping all over.... Gonna try a spaced coil
6. In one post you say to preheat to eliminate hot spots, another post you say to ALWAYS space coils. I just did a 8 wrap dual parallel build with 24g SS that came out to be .14ohms Running 450 temp, and 50 watts So far so good on that 3.5 profile
7. Im assuming you pulse this material similar to how you do titanium. What kind of ohms do 6-8 wraps on a dual parallel provide
8. Thanks for the quick response. Much appreciated
9. Here's the ensemble of all the UD SS316L Profiles - http://www.filedropper.com/udss316ltcprofiles As the Version goes up, so do the temperatures; I generally use V3 or V3.5 myself.
what build works best with this profile
10. Ive been using .5mm TI for a few months now with no issues. Ive posted various builds and results. Simple dual parallel builds work out the best. One thing i noticed is that with TI wire, once you lock in the initial resistance and vape for a while, it will eventually require you to relock it at a higher resistance. The cotton will be soaked but will read dry coil, until a highef resistance is locked in
11. How well are your Crown CSVs working for you? I couldn't get one that worked for me on my DNA200 but surprisingly on my new Evic VTC Mini, the stock SS profile they program in works beautifully...sometimes. First time I screwed it on, worked great. Second time I screwed my Crown on, cut prematurely and had weak, thin vapes. Third time, works great. Idk. As for David's SS files, I think I've settled on the V4 and V3 for my attys. I still have preheat on but have the punch at 3, time at 0.75, and wattage at 20 watts above my vaping wattage (I vape around 55-65 watts and have preheat wattage at 80).
I updated my crown thread. I don't want to derail this one with previous built crown talk. But to answer your question, I use 304 TCR from steam engine and add points in the middle of each of their points. Most folks use 105 if they can input a TCR. That's what I used on the SX Mini. The Crown coils can be a little temperamental due to the nickel legs.
Im about to move from TI to SS....getting 28g and 24G in. I would appreciate it if the V4 csv can be uploaded so i can use it
12. I struggled with setting up the battery parameters to display a correct battery life until i stumbled across a youtube video where he walks through setting up the Releaux through escribe. I left the battery type as lipo and 3 cells then just put 3000mah in using the calculator and it wound up calculating the right watt/hour which was around 33. Also need to run the case analyser but he already did that too so i used his numbers. Been using mainly temp control mode with titanium setup around 60watts,400 temp and its giving me about a solid 24 to 30 hours of battery life. I havent messed witb discharge rates, is that necessary? Also a HUGE A REQUEST for a mobile version. I have an LG tablet i take everywhere
