not so sure the battery capacity is all they claim!
I ran the battery analyser on a vt 200 and the result was 11.09Wh

when i was running the battery at 14.43 i was getting "weak battery " at 20%

now at 11.09 with the same coil and setup it vapes all the way down to 0% battery and  then 4-5 puffs after that it displays weak battery.

so not too happy it only has 11.09 Wh but i do now have an accurate battery meter!

if you want to try my battery csv from the analyser it is below:-

i changed it to a .txt file to upload but if you change it to or save it as a .csv it will work

is your cut off set to 3.11v?
  2. Nice job! I worked for a machinist...as a machinist years ago, his test to new apprentices looking for work was to make something...whatever weird shaped piece he had laying around with only hand tools, a grinder and sand paper. It's amazing what can be done with skill and patience.

They are quite easy to mill with a dremel and tidy up with a needle file and fine abrasive paper.

Well, two of the three I have were definite clearance issues. The other was likely also, but I cut the board apart looking at it, so it is getting a brand new board.

Thanks John, any idea when/if mine will be shipping back to me?
    Thanks,
    Jeff
  4. Mine arrived at Evolv today, I'm sure it will get its autopsy sometime soon. Hopefully it yields some useful information for them.

Any news on what the culprit was? So far so good with my Opus, running the latest release.

Hi I'm Bob I'm running my Opus DNA200 now just over a week I have the latest Firmware in it. Now and I'm have no issues at all

I'd have to agree with that myself too, and my device was working flawlessly with all three firmware revisions up until it stopped firing...similar to the other opus mods that have died(I know of 2 others). I'm hoping maybe it's just a clearance issue that can be fixed easily.
  6. You guys are the best, thanks!

Jeff, I'll send you a PM with the shipping address.  It sounds like a blown fuse but the question is what is causing it?  John wants them sent directly to us for post mortem.  We'll replace the board and ship it right back.

  7. Brandon, a similar thing happened to my opus today, the mod powers up via USB but dies when disconnected, there is an acrid smell from the vent holes and it will not fire any atomizers. Escribe shows voltage on all three cells though. The mod was firing .o8 nickel 410 deg at 44 watts at time of death. I sent opus an email with a video and escribe recording, would you like me to forward it to evolve? Also if I should mail the unit to evolve please let me know, and how/ where. Thanks, Jeff FYI it has the latest firmware, installed last night

Opus is not a daughter manufacturer of Evolv.  The owner of Opus (Roger) used to do some contract assembly work for us when we were still manufacturing the Darwin.  After we retired the Darwin he wanted to start his own mod company.  I lent him the money to start the business and helped him incorporate.  He paid me back in full, a year later and I ceased having any interest in Opus.  Opus is fully owned by Roger and has no ties to me or Evolv.
