To me the point of possibly switching to USB-C connection is not about data transfer speeds but actual power delivery difference. While micro-b can transfer only a limited amount of power, type-c is rated for power delivery of 60 watts through single connection. With that high rating it would charge much faster off usb without increasing the risk for board to fry itself
