    Hi Vassilis,

I cannot find an issue here with the setting. I think this a 510 grounding issue but it is hard to be sure without servicing the device.

So, I returned the mod to the shop I bought it, they made some checks and decided to replace the mod with the new one.
The new mod works fine without any issue in TC mode and, especially, with Replay function playing.

    Thank you again.

  2. Hi!
Sorry didn't come earlier but I sent an email to Evolv asking for help.
The responded immediately and I sent them what they asked for (the ".ecig" file with all settings), to have a look.
I'm waiting for their reply/suggestion, in an attempt to exhaust all the chances of my own mistake before accusing the mod.

In the meantime, I dismantled the pole and found out a little moist. I wiped it off and put it back in place.
I also followed retird's instructions (just I lowered the Set Temp to 190), and I can say that the situation has improved a lot.
Now I don't experience subdue vaping even if the wattage drops down to 13 (from set 17) during the puff.
But still, I don't get the same vape in Replay as I get in TC mode.

    Thank you all!

    Let's wait Evolv...

  3. Hmm...I think I have it!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                I'm in my work now and cannot dismantle the mod. I suspects the mod's pole. Will see...

Your screenshots do no show the Temperature and Temperature Set data so we can look at that.... Tick the Temp and Temp Set boxes on the left of the screen. to add them to your screen shots......

    Good day!
    OK, here you are...

The left screen shot is without Replay.
Shows Live Ohms, Cold Ohms (purple lines), Temp set (red line) and ranging of the Temp and Watt.
Temp is set at 210C and Watt at 17 (without any preheting/boosting)
The is rising up to 194C and watt remain almost steady at 17 (during the puff). the increase in resistance is within the normal limits, I think.

The right screenshot is with Replay with same settings.
That is, Temp at 210C and Watt at 17, without any preheating and warmth at 1.
Resistance increases normally, the resistance shows measurable variation and finally drops to 13 giving subdued vaping.
Each puff has great differences from the next one, mainly in the variation in Watt, which either drops down to 10 or rises up to 25!

  5. Thank you @retird

Yes I did try.  You may see the screenshots in my first post.
The top one shows vaping in TC mode, where everything is as it should be, and the below one vaping in TC mode with the Replay function ON.
With the Replay function ON, the watt drops down to 9,5 making the vaping impossible.
Some times instead, the watt rises to 25-26, making the liquid to boil!

    A real puzzle, I think...

Because I don't get another Mirage to compare, I would like someone who has the same mod to say if he noticed a similar behavior.
Even an answer from someone who gets another DNA 75C, would help.

  6. Thank you @dwgraig1 for your answer.
Yes, the other two DNA mods and one VTC Primo mini report the same coil resistance (0,841 - 0844, - 0,851) respectively.
The same coil (SS316L) I have tried it in wattage mode, with almost same results.
    Please see the below screenshots.

The leftmost is without the Replay. Watt  almost steady at 17. The yellow line is the current.
The rightmost is with the Replay On. Watt drops down in a fraction of a second and ranges from 14 to 14.7.
Believe me, the two watts make the difference in the vaping!

  7. Thank you for your reply @Nexolek.

Playing with warmth settings from 1 to 11, I found out that set to 9, I got better results than having it in the default setting (5).
For the time being, didn't observe the watt to goes down any more on every puff. Also didn't observe the watt to rise to 25 like before.
The watt starts at 20 for about half a second and then range from 15 to 18 in each puff.

I keep an eye for few hours more and will see...

  8. Hi All!

Can we use the Replay function in TC mode with a DNA 75C or we cannot? Since there is no a clear (and official) Yes or Not, I am totally confused.

I own two mods with DNA 75 (HCIGAR 75 nano and SMY SDNA 75). I have a RDTA FODI F2, an RTA SIREN V2 and an RTA HASTUR 24mm.  I always use TC with SS316L, 3mm diam,  7 (or 8/7) spirals, 0,78 (or 0,84) ohm and 17 watt.  Both mods work very well in TC mode. No problem at all.

Few days ago  I bought a MIRAGE 75C for its Replay function.  The mod works very well in TC mode but not when I try to use the Replay function being in TC.  The default theme (original and official I suppose), allows to use the Replay in TC mode. So, I guess there is no "ban"!

But... finding the "perfect puff" (the very first indeed), activating the Replay function, the problem appears in two versions:

1st version: Watt rises constantly. Second puff = 18.5 (or so) watt, third puff = 19,3 watt, fourth puff = 22 watt, fifth puff 25 watt! The liquid boils!

2nd version" Watt goes down in every puff. Second puff =15.4 watt, second puff = 13.2 watt, third puff = 12 watt, fourth puff = 9 watt! Vaping impossible!

Please see the Escribe screenshots when in TC without Replay function and a Preheat of 20 W.

    =======

And with Replay function activated (No Preheat). The problem appears (2nd version).

If I stop the Replay function, everything is back to normal.

I'd very much appreciate your help in this.

    Thank you

  9. Hi All!

A help hand is required to understand the Replay function in a 75C DNA. I will try to give you as much information as I can, so please excuse the big post.

I own a Mirage 75C and the Theme I use is that of Frank65. I have created two profiles. One with the Reply activated and one with no Replay.  For the time being I use the FODI F2 RDTA with the below settings:

    SS316L, 28AWG, 7 separated turns on 3mm diameter, 0.78 Ohm, 16W with Punch to 20W and Temp 210 C (Cotton Bacon Prime).

Using the non Replay profile, the diagram in Device Monitor is as per below image:

    Fodi.PNG.6457484c8c1a361a7393b06ee11fddb7.PNG

What I cannot understand is why the Watt remains on the Punch level of 20 W and don't drop to 16W after a while. Apart that, I'd pleased to hear your comment about the rest of the curves. Are they in the correct limits of a DNA 75C?

    =======

Using the Replay mode, I have the below diagram:

    Fodi-R.PNG.b4c433bda29f41ff1e956c532fcac94c.PNG

Is this the way the Reply works? That is, the constant changes in voltage supply and the changes in the wattage is because the Replay tries to reproduce the saved puff? What I see is correct or I have done some kind of a mess?

Any help should be much appreciated. Thank you!

  10. Just an update (a bit delayed!)

After contacting the vendor Gearbest, where I bought the mod, and exchanging 4-5 messages, they finally proposed two solutions.
Either I send back the mod (at my expenses of course) and they should refund the money, or keep the mod and they add to my "wallet" the amount of 15 USD.
    I choose the second option.

In the meantime, EVOLV decided to send me a new screen as a courtesy!
Very impressive! I, once again, thanked EVOLV not only for their professionalism but for their kindness too.

Needles to say that after replacing the damaged screen, the mod functions perfectly.

  11. Hi!
Just received a reply from EVOLV to my ticket.

    Hi Vassilis,

That issue will require a replacement screen to correct.

It is caused by neglecting to tuck the screen ribbon cable away from the fire button when the device is manufactured. This causes the fire button to contact the screen cable every time the button is pressed causing the behavior you are now seeing and eventual failure.

Unfortunately this is not something we would warranty, however we do have replacement screens available here on our website.

    Thanks,

  12. Hi!

My one-month-old mod (SMY SDNA 75) started this morning to behave abnormally all of a sudden.

    Pressing the fire button,
either it will stacks on the first screen or it will shows up a mesh from first and second welcome screen.
Needs to press the fire button for about 3 seconds to move on to the normal screen. But then, pressing the fire button, either the screen it will remain unchanged (like frozen), or  changes the indications to whatever it wants!

In the escribe and in the "Atomizer Analyzer" it works normally, showing the correct atomizer's resistor characteristics. Also it seems to work normally in the "Device Monitor" check page.
Generally it vapes as it should does. But the screen is not showing the correct information.

Needless to say that the mod didn't suffer any mistreatment.
Also tried three different atomizers and three batteries.

Has anybody met such a condition to any DNA 75 mod?

    Thank you,
    Vassilis

    P.S.
I opened a ticket to EVOLV including two screenshots from the Device Monitor page.

  13. Thank you very much for your detailed reply!

I'm a DNA newbie and I saw an adv for the new VapeDroid mod equipped with a DNA 75 and in its specs, as you may see in the below picture,

    [Capture_zpsmzafzj5t]

is written that supports SS coils from 0.2 up to 1.0 ohm, as well as the range for other wires.

Given that I always used SS316L from 1.2 to 1.4 ohm, wattage 11-12, temp around 200-210 C (390-410F), and PG/VG with 6mg nicotine and no aroma, the vaping was according to my taste regarding ?? both vape temp and throat hit. But my coil and cotton, after about 7-8 ml needed to be changed due to heavy black residues. Seeing the above adv, I created a 0.85 coil keeping all other variables the same.
And oh marvel! Already have vaped more than 25 ml and both coil and cotton are just slightly colored.

This is why I asked the experts here for an advise.
Now I'll study your kind information and I'd apply them accordingly.

    Thank you again!

  14. Hi all!

I've got a HCIGAR VT75 nano almost two months ago.
I use two RDTAs, AVOCADO 22 and Fodi F2 and vape on TC using SS316L of 0.32mm (28AWG) making single resistance between 1 and 1,3 Ohm. Watt 11 to 13. Temp 200 C (392 F).
Few days now, I face the below problem.

The resistance made on a 3mm axon with 10 coils (spirals) and it should be 1,17 ohm according to Steam Engine. My DNA reads it at 1,21 ohm. It's OK. If we take in account the mod/atomizer internal resistance, it's OK.
After a short time of vaping, DNA reads it at 1,18 and after a while at 1,12 ohm, then at 1.0 ohms and then malfunction is starting. The temperature indication is going mad showing a series of craze indications, i.e. OFF, 33554, OFF, 84, 125 (these are temp), OFF, 33554, 80, 121, OFF, 33554 and so on, until Temp protection is taking over, even if i set it on 290 C. Vaping is impossible.
I suppose this is a kind of short-circuit but I cannot guess more. Especially the 33554 indication is a mystery for me. Please note that it happens to both AVOCADO and FODI atomizers!

Putting both atomizers on a Joyetec vtc mini, everything is OK.
The readings are correct and the vaping is normal.

May I have your help/suggestion please?

    Thank you!

  15. Hi everybody!

    Recently I bought a HCIGAR VT75 nano (DNA75).
I loaded the latest firmware, Version: 1.2 SP3
Trying the "Production Utility" test, I face the below error.

    Test-1.png

I have attached a Kanthal resistor of 1,7 Ohm according to Steam Engine and the VT75 reads it at 1,66.
Either leaving the default Fire Time (5s) or change it to 1,2,3 or 7, the error is here.
Changing a bit all the other parameters have no effect.
The same error exists either leaving the existing settings or restore/reload the defaults.
The test has been conducted with the resistor without and with fully wet cotton.
If uncheck the "Fire Test" box, the result is "Action succeeded", but it is useless of course.

I didn't test the VT75 before loading the latest version and I don't know if the same error could be occurred.

    Am I doing something wrong?
    Any idea please?

    Thank you!
