it's Norwegian Air, possibly some ambiguity-

As it says above.
A relative is bringing me back a few DNA200s and some 510 connectors for me and is nervous about how to make sure everything is ok. I need to make sure there is going to be no possible damage to the boards (or hassle with customs). They are under the limit for a gift brought from USA to UK. I should be able to get receipts and or get a manual printed out just in case.
Thanks

Thanks for the info, VapingBad,
I would just about stretch to this if I could get an Evolv 510 at a sensible price but the shipping alone at Protovapor for their 510 is a minimum of $27 bringing the price with mounting hardware to almost $50 before even factoring in VAT/import/royal mail charges.
I have sent an inquiry off to Evolv about them supplying 510s.
If there is a way to place some of these enclosures with a UK supplier
either with Evolv 510 connectors or changed to fit FDV/Varitube 510s that would
be great.
EDIT - If anyone in the UK can supply me with just ONE Evolv 510 please
let me know and I will be ordering a modcrate enclosure straight away! -
Also interested depending on final price to get these to the UK. Who here has any experience of customs/VAT charges for USA to UK orders as I have none? Would there be any chance of getting a UK based retailer (Stealthvape?) To stock these? Options for various sizes of back panels to fit different panels would be good too. As an Alternative to having to solder direct to the board- What is the minimum size increase to the reference model to fit an XT30 or bullet connectors and balance charge plug? Also a back panel which, while keeping it as small as possible, is just big enough for 2 18650s and has an ergonomic curve maybe... Even better with battery contacts for the 18650s. Not sure how easy this would be to machine.

Thanks, John

Is the Battery Ground Common to the Out ground? If so is it possible to connect the high current ground direct from the battery to the 510 or would it still need to go through the board?

It fits in the beta enclosure. That was the first battery we were using for our tests. It isn't a bad battery if you get a good one. But out of the first ten we ordered, one had a bad cell and two had a cell installed BACKWARDS. Yeah... Also with the lowest cost hobby kings packs, they seem to just take whatever cells they can get and make packs. There doesn't seem to be any effort to match cells for capacity, age, date code, etc. All these things matter to a manufacturer. To an individual modder, they are cheap enough if one out of two packs is okay you probably come out ahead.
Ta for the reply John,
Could you direct me toward some higher quality batteries available in the Uk?
Don't mind if they cost a bit more - just concened about the dimensions for the enclosure and the batteries not being too long
A list of batteries tested and the results would be very helpful if you are able to provide that.
What have your tests shown for higher C rating batteries?
Maybe a group buy of good quaility batteries would be possible -
That's also going to be quite a long device,
The higher mah batteries I have looked at in the Uk (Turnigy nano tech from HobbyKing)
all seem to be rather long -
Ta for the info. I have ordered a couple of Turnigy nano-tech 950mah. That battery may be a tight squeeze in the beta enclosure, if it fits at all (Can you confirm pls Mamu?) Also a 1300mAh nano tech but not the higher c rated one(both25-50) as they were out ofs tock in the UK. Glad for the 24hr delivery.

Can you please confirm the size of the battery in the beta mod? I'm after some in the UK with overnight delivery. I have 70 X 26 X 18mmmamu said:I'm getting a day and then some of vape runtime using the beta mod with a FullyMax 900mAh 30C lipo pack, as well as a DNA200 mod using MaxAmps 800mAh 40C lipo pack, before needing a charge.
Running 20W, 0.09 coil, TC, and I'm a fairly constant vaper.
These are the batts I have and testing (all 3S):
FullyMax 900mAh, 30C
MaxAmps 800mAh 40C
Turnigy nano-tech 950mAh, 25C
Turnigy nano-tech 1300mAh, 25C
MaxAmps 1300mAh, 100C
MaxAmps 1800mAh, 100C -
Are you willing to share the fruits of your labour?KTMRider said:I just converted the files to STL on www.3dtransform.com.
Why would we want to edit the files? They should be good to go, no? -
What aspects/features of the design do you think would be a problem?Bapgood said:Like I said it's just my opinion but there or several aspects/features of the reference mod design that aren't conducive for 3D printing, especially filament style printers.

I have been asked for these files in .STL format Is there anyone out there who has these in .STL or can please convert them? Thanksevolvapor said:We've provided solid models of the case and connector used in the DNA 200 beta. Please feel free to use any or all of the design in the development of your mod.
The files are in Iges format. We also have SolidWorks models available upon request.
Are DNA200s going to be ok carried on board flight USA to UK?
