  1. Excellent Thanks for the link. weirdly, if I navigate to that section of the forum, that thread doesn't show - without the link, I would never have been able to access it! kinda freaky.
  2. it seems a shame that the board has been released but no sign of the required resources yet. Potentially (hopefully) one of the best leaps forward in vaping technology for ages but it seems to be of restricted use without escribe support, the theme designer, or the board mounting info. it'd be handy if they released even beta versions at this point. I think the testers had access to the software; personally I would have thought that version (even if it's buggy) would be better than none at all. I won't knock evolv as they're very innovative and so I'll trust that they're delaying the release of support for a reason - but my limited DNA experience tells me the options are limited without escribe. The media released emphasises the board is about much more than just having a colour screen but, without the software to access the new features.......... it is just a colour screen, isn't it?
  3. Fractal, I would assume you can put an icon on your home screen that you can use to to toggle stealth on and off without scrolling through menus to get to functions such as that. same with resistance lock.
  4. I can't help but chuckle as I write this: you can scroll through a menu you design yourself by utilising the up, down and select buttons (which you can swap around however you want)....... how much "user configurable multi-button "gesturing" " do you want?
  5. Thanks for such a complete reply VapingBad. you've confirmed what I thought - this is a huge leap forward that will set the bar for all other boards. I know it will cost a bit more than other makes but the price isn't the big decider for me. Isn't that true for most DNA users? We buy for quality, what they do and how well they do it. (Or at least most DNA users I know, do). Once I got a DNA75....... that was me converted! (I don't like batteries sealed into anything I own so I waited for 186550s to come into use)) I'd seen the Busardo videos but it's still great to get another perspective on it; a real life user's perspective. I hope they've managed to find a way to get the clock to maintain the correct time even if only for a short period; Very few retail DNA75 mods have a fixed cell and this would (certainly to me) make the clock/date more annoying than useful. I hope theme designer would allow for copying settings off the mod and apply them to a new theme? it would be annoying to get a device set up 'just right' only to find applying a new theme over writes the profiles and other settings. I like the idea of fully customisable menus; it allows for a theme to come in 3 'branded' versions that can be uploaded dependent on who's using it: basic for beginners, intermediate for the slightly more adventurous and advanced for those who like to delve deeper but all with the same basic look and icons etc. I appreciate evolv will want to retain their unique style but there is another brand out there (reviewed by Phil Busardo on 14th April) who seem to have gone for a similar screen to the classic DNA but have managed to put on a scrolling menu set up which seems halfway between the 75 and the 75-C with a seemingly more user friendly UI. If evolv could take note of what that brand managed, that'd be awesome. Anyway back to the matter in hand, thanks very much. that's most of my questions answered - anything else probably comes under 'wait and see'.
  6. I saw a preview of your new board on tasteyourjuice.com I've got to say, it looks fantastic! I already want one. Important question: when will it be available and how much(ish)? Will the clock need resetting every time the battery is removed?Battery removal is a frequent occurrence on mods powered by 18650s. Does it really need an extra select button?(Or could evolv have used a gesture combo instead to access the menu and from that point use the fire button as select?) If the fire button could be used for selecting, can the programming on the black and white 75 (and other boards) be amended allowing it to use a similar approach to making custom menus? Finally, when can we get hold of the new escribe with the theme designer? It'd be great if we could start designing themes now for the devices we'll buy later (there's a way to create your own market) Thanks
  7. I let it charge a bit and then played around seems I have to set the soft cut off to 3.1 to prevent it going below 3.2 when idling. I'm hoping that doesn't cause too many problems. the only other alternative is to monitor it to see what percentage charge equates to 3.2 and keep an eye on that reading. thanks for your input - it's gratefully received
  8. Yep, I already carry a spare I take it your response means, that you think it's not good to take it below 3.2V so, do you have any ideas for the second question please? "Second question..... (assuming draining it this low is a bad idea) how do I prevent it from draining so far?" I would have thought there would be somewhere in the setting for it to monitor the overall charge (when idling) and prevent it being fired below a certain level.
  9. I get the words "weak battery" I did update firmware via escribe but even after that, I get the words rather than the flashing symbol
  10. it drains whilst in use. I haven't looked to see if it goes even lower while not being used that screenshot was while idling I'm not sure how that is relevant to whether draining an 18650 is harmful to it or not - but I'm happy to answer questions that might get us there
  11. Hi all I noticed my device is taking my battery down to 3.1V - my understanding was that it's a bad idea to take it below 3.2V. First question..... is that correct? second question..... (assuming draining it this low is a bad idea) how do I prevent it from draining so far? I can see there is a soft cut of and the device came with this set at 2.75v; i thought this was more to do with battery sag when firing rather than the point when it will stop working altogether. Any ideas please? Thank
  12. more of a CDO thing...... which is basically the same but in alphabetical order
  13. txmonkey..... this is how my themes tab looks - you've got nothing like this at all? are you using the latest version of escribe?
  14. Thanks for your thoughts retird - any suggestions on this are appreciated. Looks like it's one for the boffins who do the programming. I also tried renaming them all so they start with a number to see if it would then put them in numerical order - that didn't work either. the order must be to do with wire properties
  15. good idea, but sadly no cigar on this occasion I wondered if it was to do with whether they are CSV or TCR but it's not that either I also tried changing Nife52 to just Nife and re-adding it to the mod but that made no difference either; it appeared directly below nife48
