People should not be punishing companies for complying with the regulations. They are doing the right thing whether you think the FDA is doing the right thing or not.
That said, in the aforementioned example $10 seems excessive to comply with the letter of the law. -
Keep trying to force firmware updates, have heard of someone having to do it 3x to get it to "take"

That is correct if you go from ground to each pin. If you want each cell measure adjacent pin pairs.

You can meter the cells directly to check them, but it is true that the board will not read all cells properly without the B+ and B- connected. It will do exactly what you are seeing.
The charge symbol comes on even in that condition. -
you may want to doublecheck the connections to the fire switch and/or the quality of signal from the switch. if need be, a filter capacitor may help.

meter the battery pack while it is disconnected from the board. check what voltages you are getting at the various pins on the tap

Do you have a missing component? EDIT: Check your tap socket closely for soldering, if there are any bad solders there it will cause screwy readings.

Good one to check, in our experience a bad solder at the tap socket can produce weird results like this.

Yes verified on a bare board as well as on test mods. Do you have the screen set to be on (brightness >0) during charge?

There is no command to immediately make it switch to that mode, however it will switch normally based on your time parameters. To my understanding, it switches after "active time" and "idle time" settings both elapse. If you set both of those to a very short time you can sort of get it to switch on demand. -

Ah yes it does seem one of the resistors(?) is missing from the array on the right. John this is one of ours, how best to handle the repair or replace?

Got an older dna250 board that refuses to skip the production charging test, and also refuses to pull more than .7a from the computer's USB port, so it never passes. Original programming date sept 2016, while my other 2017 boards skip the charging test fine.
Also as part of testing I put in SP9, which causes dna250s to bump to 1.100+v bandgap and fail production. Reverts to 1.02ish when i revert to SP5.
